I'm right there with you over preferring a pair of loubs over that single bottle of polish! Sadly I don't think I could ever justify buying a pair of shoes that's over $100 because I absolutely destroy every pair of shoes I've ever worn in a shockingly short amount of time. I felt the exact same way. And after I spent it on something I didn't need/wanted, something I REALLY wanted came out lol.. Semi Sweet palette by Too Faced.

Does anyone know if the Sephora GC would still work at a SiJCP if I purchased from sephora.com a few days ago?  Would the systems sync up by now to show it used?  It seems most of the ladies here did both purchases pretty close together.  Thanks!

I used my gift card at SiJCP and a few days later I used it online with no problems. I don't think you'll have any problem using it.

I purchased online with gc a few days beforw the sale (it started working early) and just today used it at sephora in jcp. It worked no problem that would have been plenty of time for computers to sync if there were any issues.

I was told, directly, by a Sephora DM that Sephora and SiJCP do not sync at all - that they are very nearly different companies, and that JCP has basically purchased the Sephora logo to use for their stores. He said that Sephora as a company ties to maintain a uniform appearance throughout Sephora and SiJCP stores, but that there is no way to merge their two computer systems, which is why there is such difficulties with cross-returns, and some people getting points and such.

Now, I don't know how much he knows or how accurate his info is, but it seemed to mesh with the experiences that a lot of ladies on this board have had!

I went to Sephora today (free UD mini and my $15) and ended up with the SiJCP favorites w/ the Nars blush and such.  One of my favorite students LOVES makeup and is struggling with liner and mascara, so I'll gift those to her (b/c I'm swimming in mascara like everyone else and I have toooooo many They're Real minis).  I can't wait to try the rest!!  I also picked up ONE MORE GIFT for my SS and I'll pack tomorrow.  

The SA wanted a code for the free mini and I didn't have one to give.  I did a good job of searching my email, and offered to let someone else go ahead of me, but they were a tad busy and just handed the liner to me and said, "I trust you won't return it."  Umm, you don't even sell those mini liners -- how I would return it?  LOL.  They had three colors to choose from -- brown, aqua and something else.

Another oddity -- I have 254 points but their system said I only had 100 I could spend.  I've never had that happen.

ETA:  AHAHAHAHA!  I just checked and I didn't spend enough!!  That gift card didn't count towards VIB -- so I need to spend $5 more!  ARGH!

Ugh I didn't realise the gift card wouldn't count toward VIB - but thankfully it won't matter in my case because I'm only $25 away and have the $20 card. I would've been so mad if I ended up $5 short!

Okay. So I'm spending my $15 gift card tonight, and I'm pretty set on getting the Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation and the Tarte Sweet Dreams Set, buuuut I can't remember what shade of foundation I got matched for in store last month!

I remember that it was the lightest shade that they had in the store, but not the lightest shade in the line (which is the elusive L42 that they only have in stock once in a blue moon.) So the second lightest shade. But L44 and L46 and L48 are all pretty similar except for the very slight undertone shift and I am just completely stumped as to which is considered the "second lightest" shade in the line, especially since most of the research I've done has indicated that the numbers don't necessarily indicate an exact transition from lightest to darkest.

I won't be able to get matched before making this purchase because the card expires tomorrow and I'm busy until Sephora closes so I really need to get this figured out tonight. Any advice?

Buy a color and if it doesn't work exchange it. It wont matter that you used the GC because you are not returning it

Buy the color you think is your closest match, and if it doesn't work, exchange it in store. Even if you use your discount, if you are doing a color for color exchange they should be able to match the price... *fingers crossed* Otherwise, unless you can find the little baggie where they marked your color, I am not sure how you'd tell!

It think it was confirmed if you try to return you lose the GC amount.
