So I think legally we can keep it, I just kind of feel wrong for asking :/
The only thing I wonder about is that technically we did order something, but got the wrong item. It seems different than what is described here. I have the same situation...I haven't decided if I will keep it or return it.

I definitely think you should return. I was sent half of an item by sephora recently and they asked that I return the half and the resent the whole. Either way, I wouldn't feel right.

Oh, I didn't mean that I would keep it and expect my money back. If I keep it, I will do so knowing that I paid for the item already. That's what I meant. Yeah...I agree. If I decide to get my money back, I will definitely either send it back or take it into the store for a refund.

yeah....it looks like the article applies to unsolicited unordered stuff that just suddenly showed up. the sephora case is different since it's a 'wrong item sent' order, so i would think the merchandise must be returned to get a refund, if sephora didn't tell you keep it.

Sorry - some had referred previously to keeping and getting a refund. Is there no way for them (sephora customer service) to clear this up? Either way - stinks to not get what you ordered!

Oh that makes sense. Oh well, looks like I'll have to return it! Hopefully they'll pay for shipping though.

It was off the website when I looked yesterday, hopefully they put up the real deal at the same price.

They should pay shipping since it's their mistake. Call customer service and you should be able to use the return shipping label they include in orders at no cost to you.... That's what happened to me at least when I got only half an item.

If the packing list is still around, there's a no-cost-to-you merchandise return/shipping label at the bottom of every single one. The CS person might be assuming it hasn't been tossed yet.

I don't think it's fair that some ladies were told they could keep it and get a refund while others were told they had to return it. That's just not good business IMO.

Also, ew@ hitting Rouge again and not getting so much as a lipstick this time around.

I agree, but I think the difference is, the item is now gone off the site and "out of stock", so they can't check the description and see that it is blatantly wrong. In fact, the SA's now probably don't even understand what was going on.  All they know is, the product they sent was wrong, and they can't reorder it for you, so they issue a refund.

It does seem unfair for them to say different things to different customers tho.

when i called the rouge line yesterday she asked if she could do some research and call me back shortly - when she called back she explained the manufacturer sent the wrong item (other than what was pictured) and they've since listed the item as no longer available.  so i think they know what's going on with it - but i too was a bit bummed they're saying different things to different customers in regards to returns!

I have no money, I have no money, I have no money

OK so how accurate is the skin id thing? I went into the finder online and put in my normal foundation that is perfect for me, and every other color I look at online that they suggest for my color id seems way too dark.

not accurate at all! mine is also way way too dark. i think next time, i'll check how well it matches in store first cause it looks potentially useful once you have the correct id.
