Hello Ladies!
I want to open by saying this is by far my favorite thread on MUT!!!! I am currentl;y compiling my list of companies who sent samples, what they sent, what their response was, approximate value, and additional information including my personal thoughts on the products/company/service/etc. Since I started this venture a month and a half ago, there hasn't been a day that has gone by that I did not receive a sample of some sort in the mail. I have received products from 42 companies and counting. Most blew me away with their generousity. I have found some products I love and some I hate. I am so greatful for the opportunity to see what works and what doesn't without dropping a lot of cash. This venture has proved so much more beneficial than the 7 subs I get a month combined. If I count the number of samples I got that would be included in a sub box, averaging it out at 5 items per sub per month, I have received almost three years of monthly boxes!!!! The real reson for my posting, is that I saw a few girls post about receiving their VMV samples, but haven't seen anyone explain it, so I thought I would step up. For anyone that is interested, VMV Hypoallergernics is a company that offers high quality skin care products (and various other related items) that are very gentle. They usually change $.75 per sample, but they are currently running a special that allows you to select up to 5 samples for free with free shipping right from their web site like you would place a regular order (Similar to MsJessie's but you aren't limited to 2 and you don't need to input a credit card0. A lot of them are sold out but their is still so much to choose from. They arrive super quick in super cute little test tube bottles individually boxed and included is a little spacula to make getting the product out of the tube very easy. Here's a little tip: I feel embarassed admitting this, but there was so much to choose from I couldn't help myself: I ordered twice with two different e mail addresses and was shipped ten samples all together in one box. Apparently I didn't fool them, but they didn't seem to mind either!
Finally, a couple girls have asked what to write to these companies. This is my general format letter. There is usually some variation of this... This one was for MAcademia that was just sampled through BB. If it was something that was just sampled somewhere, I mention it. If it it something that has potential to affect my skin, I mention my concern. I try to provide as much info as possible:
So...I was so hoping to sample your hair oil through Birchbox. Sadly, I did not receive a sample of the oil, or the hair mask...Just the way my luck is. I was wondering if you would happen to have any samples you would be able to send me. I have heard such amazing things about your products! I have very long color treated hair....I was it in frrequently and use tons of 0tools and products. In an attempt to keep it health, I am an advid user of oils, masks, amd treatments. I am always trying to find new brands and products to fall in love with. With all the different options available anymore, I pretty much will not buy anything I haven't sampled first. However, if I love something I sample, you are guaranteed to have a customer for life! I am a registered beautician and have a passion for beauty products. I spare no expense in that area...I'm definitely not just someone looking for a handout--I would be more than happy to purchase trial sizes and/or cover shipping costs! I look forward to your response and the opportunity to find a new go-to brand!
Thanks!
