I love them. I had been using the YSL cream blush. The Jouer blows it away. It comes in more shades and bonus, it's cheaper. I've received so many compliments on my makeup in the last week, it's been a real ego boost.

They also don't really tell you that the Jouer product cases are all designed to click together. It's like Lego's for ladies!!!

On another note, Moroccanoil told me to go to a salon to get samples. I went to the salon they recommended, and the salon recommended Alterna Kendi Oil and gave me two sample vials of that. I like it...still curious about Moroccanoil but as they couldn't be bothered..and the place they sent me to get a sample didn't seem to like their product....maybe they need to rethink their sample policy?!?!
Moroccanoil sells a small, maybe 1oz bottle for like $7.  I've been using it for 2 years, and am only on my second bottle.  It really is the best thing I've ever put on my hair, and the Alterna doesn't even come close.

I have a few extra jouer moisture tints. What's your color??

Whattttt! That's just mean. Pokemon is awesome!

My neighbors steal my packages... I'm setting up a sting operation. We're going to hide in the bike shed.

Make sure when you jump out and scare them while they're stealing your packages to yell at them about their less than puffy eyes.  They'll need that eye depuffer after dealing with the righteous anger of a girl deprived of her Sephora!

I already got samples of the LMT in my birchbox (I wanted to like it but it was way to sparkly) I mainly wanted those cute little lip gloss samples, last month I got one in a trade and I love it! Since I have already tried out those two products now I don't really need the samples. Thanks anyways :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

YES! Excellent point. My Sephora showed up again today, but the UPS DIDN'T knock or anything. Just left it at the door. Luckily my roommate walked out and saw the box and grabbed it. I'll puff those eyes up REAL good if I catch them stealing my sephora, Sweetie Girl. I'm calling UPS tomorrow.

My UPS guy beats on the door like his life depends on it. I mean we are talking bass drum sort of thumping lol

My UPS guy honks as he pulls up, rings the doorbell, knocks, and then honks all the way down the street as he drives away - everybody knows when everybody gets a package in our neighborhood, lol.  Thankfully, I don't have any mail stealing neighbors.

I would call the police if you catch your neighbors stealing your mail. Opening someone else's mail is against the law. I caught someone snooping around my doorstep right after the ups left something at my door. I chased them off. Ironically it is the same person that wanders through my neighborhood late at night the night before trash pick up day. They rumage through recycling for cans and bottles (Oregon has a .05 deposit on cans and bottles so they are taking them to return for the $) I caught them last week going through my recycling and called the police. Its against the law to take things out of curb side recycling in my state. Until it is picked up by the recycling trucks it is still the property of the homeowner and it is considered theft if someone takes stuff out of the bins. The lady I caught is an older asian lady and she doesnt speak english very well. She goes from house to house rumaging through bins while someone in a car (brand new BMW) up the street sits and waits for her. When i caught her the last time i went over to the car took down the license and told the driver (a younger woman) that i was calling the police and reporting her. Mom/grandma hurried up and got back in the car and they took off. The police stopped by my house after I called and reported them. They caught the lady a couple streets over. There had been numerous complaints about this and they finally were able to catch them in the act. The officer felt that they werent just diving for cans and bottles. They think they were also looking for personal information in the bins for paper. It makes me angry that someone would send an older person out to steal while they sat in their car. I told the officer about catching the person on my doorstep right after ups dropped something off but since she didn't actually take the package there wasn't anything that he could do.

I received samples today from 100%Pure. They are an all natural skincare and cosmetics company. They sent me three trial size tubes and a package of several foil packets all skincare products. I'm super excited to try them. I reached out to several companies that sell all natural skincare products. I hadn't heard about any of the companies. I couldn't sleep the other night and decided to search for natural products and found quite a few companies. After searching and reading reviews I sent requests to several that I was very interested in. I've heard back from some that don't offer samples but a couple replies that I've gotten said that they would be happy to send samples. Sevani said No Lavera said yes but charge $3 that they refund on first order Sellaus.com said yes and will send a sample of their mud mask, cleansing bar and Essence All natural Skincare said no Geri G said no 100percentpure.com said yes and received samples 2 days later.
700
I figured I would post a picture of the sample 100%Pure sent me. The foil packets are different scented lotions. The tubes are eye cream, acne treatment & moisturizer.

I wonder if we can start a site with reviews of all the products! I'd love to hear about those... I'm looking to get into more natural beauty stuff!

Yeah, I have to file a police report. I called them to ask how to do that and they said they'd send someone over but they never showed up. Hoping to do that today!

Hello - I have to admit that I'm a longtime makeuptalk lurker, first time poster.  (In fact, I created the account just so I could start posting.)

So I'm curious for details.  When you email these companies, do you just use a generic request, as in "Hello, I was wondering if you offer any free samples because I would love to try your products.  I'll be sure to post reviews on makeup review websites after I've tried them."

Or do you tailor each request, as in "Hi.  I'm really interested in your anti-aging sun damage reversal serum and your wrinkle free moisturizer because .....  Is there anywhere I could try these products, or could I get samples of them?"

Sorry to be so detail-oriented, but I've never been good at asking people for stuff (which is why I like BirchBox, because I don't feel intimidated to ask for anything).

I tended to use more of the second approach - mention that I heard rave reviews of a specific product from a co-worker and wanted to try it for myself. However, I feel like that method has backfired for me a lot. I asked Per-fekt about their lash perfection gel and as a result that was the only product they sent me, as opposed to many other ladies here who got to try several of their products. Same thing with Jouer; I mentioned their LMT and they sent me two different color samples of that, plus a tiny tube of the lip enhancer, but not the lip glosses that many of the ladies here also got.

So, I don't think the second method is very effective.

I also tend to use the second approach.  I generally list a couple of products that I would be interested in trying or have specific questions about -  but then I state my skin type, hair type, or other type or problem that I want to deal with and ask if they have any recommendations for me.  I seem to have better luck that way.

I have used a variation of the 2nd approach. I, like you, am not good at asking people for stuff. I try to tailor it to each company w/o mentioning a specific product. I typically mention my skincare or haircare concerns and state that I've read good reviews somewhere or that I heard good things about their products from a friend.  Although i have emailed a few companies like L'Occtaine and Ole Henrikson w/a somewhat generic email and received samples.
