The samples Beauty Addicts sent. I'm still in complete shock at the samples they sent.. Way Way more than I thought they would send when they replied to my email. I would've been equally just as happy to get one sample. It truly was thee best birthday surprise. I looked at their products on their website aren't cheap. Beautiful colors. I want to purchase a couple of the eyeshadow quads.

The eyeshadow was broken but that was because of postal travels. I'm so excited to try all the makeup! In addition to the eyeshadow they sent a tinted moisturizer, bronzer, foundation compact, lip gloss, lipstick and mascara.
Honestly I was thrilled when she said she'd send a sample- and that sample ended up being a full-sized mascara. I can only imagine the levels of giddiness that ensued when you opened up that box of goodies!!!

Happy belated birthday! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

i think i used that one too.. i think it took several days for a response, but this morning i got an email saying they were sending samples. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> they probably got hit up by a ton of requests. You almost have to be one step ahead of anything that's posted on here, lol.

Sabon had told me no, but I went ahead and bought the foot cream anyway and I love it!  I contacted Skin, An Apothecary.  I didn't ask for samples, I had questions on a few of their products, and what would work for me (I have bad eczema in the winter).  The president of the company contacted me with suggestions, and told me that when I place my order just put in the comments what else I want to try and they'll send me samples of anything.  I'm going to start out with some of the 2oz Soy Body Whips and go from there.

I used [email protected]. They were really quick with their first reply - sent my email at 10pm on this past Saturday and then on Sunday (!!) had a reply. I sent a reply on Monday morning and then this morning  got an email saying my samples were being sent out.  I would send out your email again because they seem to be pretty quick with replying.

They really seem to want to provide a sample package geared to your own personal requests. Did any of you that sent a request get a response like this? (if you have received samples from them, how are they)

If you are interested in sending a request here is their website address

here is their reply:

Thank you for contacting VMV HYPOALLERGENICS® and for giving us the chance to help!

While many of our products come in standard sample sizes year round and can be purchased for 75 cents. Some, like most of our make-up products, need to be customized for you. Skintangible samples are on their way but in the meantime...

If you happen to live in or near New York City, or be traveling to Manhattan soon, our boutique at 62 Crosby (between Spring and Broome in Soho) carries our complete product line and has samples and testers galore, too (plus our beauty-editor-fave, clinically-sound spa services!). Should you need to, we can be reached at 212-217-2762 or (212) 226 7309.

We'd also be happy to send you a sample for you to try. As these samples would be lab batches customized for you, they would take about 7-10 to prepare and another 5-7 days to get to you. If this is acceptable to you, we would need to know:

1) Your complete shipping address where someone can receive a package during normal working hours and a phone number where you can be reached (FedEx, USPS and other couriers require this in case of delivery problems);

2) What you are interested in. You mentioned Skintangible "Faint"ation BBBB cream but are you also interested in other products such as skin care for pigmentations, acne, redness/inflammation, or aging? Sun and Light screens? Hair-Body-Bath Care? Or makeup like blushes, foundations, lipsticks, etc.? If the latter, could you give us a range of colors that you tend to prefer (for foundations and powders, you can tell us a little about your skin tone or give us a shade from another brand that suits you; for color products you can specify general hue families like reds, pinks, earth tones, neutrals, etc.). This way we can maximize your samples package.

3) Particular diagnoses we need to keep in mind, e.g. hormonal conditions, psoriasis or a specific dermatitis, rosacea or other conditions for which you may be taking steroids, etc.

4) A bit about your skin history, concerns and goals.

5) Any medications that you are currently taking (including birth control pills, nutritional supplements, vitamins, etc.).

6) If you've had a patch test, please include your list of allergens. Sharing the results with us can help us filter out possible cross reactants that may not be immediately obvious (or that allergen databases like CARD/CAMP may not yet have updated). You can attach your results to this support ticket as a document, type it into this correspondence directly, or fax it to us in the USA at +1-646-395-1568.

7) For very sensitive skin, we normally suggest that you first complete a 7-Day "Skin Fast" before and while trying the samples that we send you. If you are interested in this, please let us know and we'll include samples that you'll need for this, too. More information on the 7-Day Skin Fast can be found here:

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Skincerely,

VMV Client and Physician Support
ok, I got basically the same reply but when I replied to them I havent heard back yet. Do they actually send you a reply to your reply or just ship out?

So I think one of my neighbors is stealing my samples, Jouer has sent out my samples twice now and I haven't received either of them :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I am not going to complain to Jouer because they were sending the samples out for free, but it still sucks.

No clue. The post office is horrible here maybe it was them, every time I have them hold my mail they mess it up. Now I only order stuff with tracking numbers so that I can make sure I actually get it, I have had issues with mail carriers updating the tracking to say it was delivered but it wasn't. Last time they did it I called to find out where one of my packages was (after it was supposedly delivered) and they actually had to hunt down the mail carrier to ask them where it was. He told them that my package was "undeliverable" because my apartment manager's office was closed.  Really?!?!  He wouldn't bring it to my door (even though he has gone upstairs to my neighbors to drop off their packages?!) grrr!!!

Sorry about going off topic and ranting :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

^Wow I would be so pissed if someone was stealing my mail not once but twice or more!

Sample update!

I tried the WEI samples they sent and I LOVE the stuff! Definitely looking to purchase from Birchbox with my points! I used all the samples in one night (spa night for me). The buffing beads are ok, the mask is wonderful, the moisturizing cream is amazing, the eye cream is ok since I can't see definite results from that with one use.

Samples from L'OCCITANE

I haven't heard back from them after I sent my info.

Thanks for the b'day wishes. Giddiness doesn't even come close to how I felt. After I picked my jaw up from the floor, I cried (tears of happiness). I was down in the dumps because I was missing my daughter really bad and I wasn't able to hear from her. I was overjoyed with the package and it helped lift my spirits. My hubby told me it was someone's was of paying it forward. I strongly believe in paying it forward so maybe in a way that is what it was. For whatever the case, I feel so blessed. Im truly grateful when a company sends anything my way. So this was an unexpected surprise.

the SAME thing happened to me.  She said she sent it out twice already and I still have yet to receive them... what's up with that?

I am so sorry that you didn't get your Jouer samples. I love mine. The customer service rep was kind enough to send me samples of the lip and cheek tints because I asked about them. I love them. I had been using the YSL cream blush. The Jouer blows it away. It comes in more shades and bonus, it's cheaper. I've received so many compliments on my makeup in the last week, it's been a real ego boost. They also don't really tell you that the Jouer product cases are all designed to click together. It's like Lego's for ladies!!! On another note, Moroccanoil told me to go to a salon to get samples. I went to the salon they recommended, and the salon recommended Alterna Kendi Oil and gave me two sample vials of that. I like it...still curious about Moroccanoil but as they couldn't be bothered..and the place they sent me to get a sample didn't seem to like their product....maybe they need to rethink their sample policy?!?!

I think they gave you those products after you said that you would review them on various makeup websites!

By the way, happy (belated) birthday!!!

Yes that is most likely true. I do make sure that I tell every company that I ask, that I will be more than happy to post reviews about their products. I would do a review no matter if I received a foil packet or a full size product. Also something I want to add, since Beauty Addicts is a boutique makeup line and it's not found at dept. stores or cosmetics stores their business relies on website sales, reviews, word of mouth and by putting them in subscription boxes at least for people that can't buy their products in salons or boutiques that carry the line. I live in Oregon and when I tried to find a place that carried Beauty Addicts (through the company website) the closest place was in California. East coast has many many locations. I know for me personally that I rarely buy from a cosmetics line that either I haven't ever tried before, havent seen in a store or never seen product reviews on. Before seeing their mascara in a subscription box, I had never heard of this cosmetics line before. And honestly, their on the more pricier side ($35 for eyeshadow quad for example) so I wouldn't have bought their cosmetics without seeing or trying them out first. I hate to mail stuff back if I don't like it , I always forget until it's too late to return it. If it was bought at a store like Sephora its much easier for me to return. I was able to try all the products out this morning (except for the broken eyeshadow) and I love all of it. I especially love the tinted moisturizer and bronzer. I'm going to definitely try to do a YouTube review. I have never done one but this company sent me nearly $200 worth of cosmetics so the least I could do is a video review as well as reviews on cosmetics websites. I also need to look at starting a blog. I think it would be so much fun. Thanks for the b'day wishes. ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
