So funny, when I was at the photo shoot event, later towards closing I went back to get something else and they were empty, with tons of employees. No one asked me anything. I needed something not out so I opened a drawer and BAM! Ma'am can I help you find something??? About 10 mins later I did the same thing and the same thing! BAM! My response, very loudly, was "oh so if I just open a drawer I can get assistance!" witchy, I know, but I got my point across. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

 
I've found that when I go to my normal Sephora, where am always polite, I get excellent service. It could be, however, that there are four free standing stores here alone, plus one SiJCP, so they are really trying to keep local business.

If I want to return/pitch a fit I go to the store with employees I hate. They already suck, so I never feel bad taking my frustration out on them. ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

 
I wonder if Lori (Lorie?) still works at the Arden store... She was my Sephora fairy godmother when I was in HS. She did my make up for prom, senior photos, graduation, etc. She was a regular at my Starbucks in midtown and would "tip" me in samples & full sizes - of course I wasn't too into make up back then and never appreciated it... Even back then though I didn't get treated well unless I was shopping WITH Lori

 
This is why I only shop online... no witchy sales people and more/better promo codes... it's sad though that even as top-tier clients we're made to feel this way when we go to the brick-and-mortars.
I think sometimes they follow people around because they're just really really bored and don't want to clean, lol.  But yes, I agree, and that's why I do most of my Sephora shopping online too.  Plus you get better promos, samples, and ebates (if you do that)!

I've totally done that!  Whenever a product I want to buy isn't out on the shelf I'll look in the drawer.  If they have a problem with it, then they need to come do their job and stock!  Hey, if they didn't want customers to paw through the drawers, they need to lock them or something.  

What REALLY annoys the daylights out of me is when they stock product to buy---but leave the testers missing! OMG, I was ready to pull some hair the last two visits (a week apart).  There are like 4 new shades of YSL's candy gloss lipsticks out now, and online swatches are hard to find (if at all) because they're so new.  Both visits I went to check them out, and they had a bunch stocked, but no testers out.  And both times I couldn't get any employee to acknowledge me long enough to even ask about them, let alone find them. 

I'll probably end up back there this weekend, and those testers better be available!  I'm sitting here wanting to shell out over 100$ on lipstick (provided the the three I think I'll love are as nice as the online product images), and nobody wants to take it.  Ridiculous!  

 
Normajean2008  - I can't really bring myself to test a lipstick in store...but eye shadows are more my thing, I've discovered.  I can't keep my eyes off of anything purple for long before it ends up in my cart on or my bag!  I resisted Marc Jacobs palette with ALL MY MIGHT, until yesterday. LOL!  I know I need more ANYTHING like I need a hole in my head, but I like that my face can look a little different every day.  I love mixing and matching the purples across brand too! I've been taking waaaaay too many selfies, haha, but it's a great way to see if my face looks like I think it looks because in my opinion, it is more objective when I see it in a pic than when I'm looking in the mirror!  Sounds odd but it really does give me a different perspective.  IT's fun trying to see which combos look better etc.  I visited the Estee Lauder counter at Macy's and the lady there was super nice, and told me NOT to buy anything now but to wait for the holiday palettes that will come out in September, but she gave me a whole tablet of outlines of faces, and told me to swipe and write down each layer of make up on days I like the way my face turned out so I will always have it for reference!  Such a great idea!  Which reminds me I need to find more - amazon maybe??  Anyway - with as much grumping etc that I see here and on Sephora's beauty talk, I am amazed something isn't being done about Sephora's customer service.  I do think their FB page gets the most responses though, so I've been keeping track of my adventures and think I'm going to let 'er rip here pretty soon.  The holiday's are coming up and if I can make a difference with my feedback for even one customer that will be a positive.  And I also want to tell them how I feel about their canned response to orders online.  I've called immediately after placing an order to try to get something changed and have seen several other people complain about not getting any service for doing the same thing, and it is actually their own fault.  In the online section of how things work, they say you cannot modify an order once it has been sent to the warehouse!  Really?  Then why is the response ALWAYS 'I'm sorry you cannot change your order once it has been placed...' WRONG WRONG WRONG!  If that is the case, change your own language to state that!  SIMPLE FIX!  Don't set the expectation that there is a teenie weenie window of opportunity when there isn't - they are BEGGING for irate customers by doing that! UGH.  It's the little things that they could change that would really turn a lot of negatives into non-events.  I've decided, they just need to hire me to come in and fix a few things for them, LOL!!!  After all - not only is the customer always right...the customer knows best! I'm feeling very emotional and extremely under appreciated by my roommate, so I'm  heading to the mall to see my friends at SiJCP and get a makeover.  I need to be pampered before my inner lioness unleashes a ROAR to be heard through the city!  My birthday is coming up, I'm tired from working all day, come home and my roommate isn't working right now, and he grumps at me for trying to get the fleas off his dog, or at the least to remind him to shampoo the dog and NOT let him lounge on my pillow?? For that I get grumped at?? ICK! Sorry to vent to you all, but thank you for listening...now I'm sooooo outa here!!

Yep the same thing available to everyone. I'm seeing everyone getting 10x points at Ulta...why do I keep giving my money to Sephora???

Is this thread still active or did everyone just switch over to the main Sephora discussion page?

Has anyone heard any details yet about the VIB sale or F&F sales this fall? They should be coming up in less than a month!!  I'm losing it waiting to purchase some holiday stuff until the sale.

 
I honestly think it's just that there's nothing rouge exclusive to be discussed. Not on a regular basis. Things are rarely rouge exclusive for long if ever and most codes are VIB.

I do hope that if they have a sale like last year that requires a unique code from a staff member that we rouges get our own unique code.

 
Other than the promo codes there isn't anything that I know of happening.  I haven't gotten an email from sephora in weeks...since I stopped ordering.  I placed several orders in the past couple of days though  :satisfied:  so I might start getting them again.  I'm having a code fit! LOL!  Not Rouge specific, but I really love the codes like "WONDERS" or "TRYJOSIE" and they have a new one for Lancome - "ENERGIE" 7 days of foil packets for skincare.  I'm not sure if it is mutliple packets of 7, or just 7...but I've got 3 of them coming!  Those make GREAT gifts and are fun for the soldiers to get in their care packages - the men love it I think more than the women!  But the recent codes were for everyone or VIB and above...so short story long...like @@tweakabell said - not much going on.

Although I am curious - do different topics and the posters that follow the conversation - have their own holiday things like a secret santa or something like that?  Another thread talks about that but I didn't know if it was thread/topic specific or not.  Thanks!

Thank you!  There is two secret santas, one normal and one Nail specific and then we create threads around the secret santa theme.
