I just accepted a VIB rouge invitation for a Rouge/Baublebar event in my area, SO psyched for this.  Anyone else get this invite?

I too sit and think will my next order could it be cancelled?? I have made 2 small orders(not in one day but in a week) along with bigger orders. So I would LOVE to know what is considered a "small" order. One of those orders was a $12. Is that too small for sephora? The only reason that it was placed is because two days before I made an order and then the next afternoon I got an email about the item that I wanted was back in stock. So I placed and order for that b/f it sold out again. And no matter what I am ALWAYS going to use a code to get an extra sample. I will hunt until I find one. That goes with any place I shop. I understand peeps that will abuse but really is anyone abusing it that much?? I am sure none of us on here is abusing the system. It is quite clear that we (as shoppers of sephora) love makeup and love samples. If we didn't we wouldn't be rouge. To take someone's status away for making orders is think is a bit ridiculous. Yes I know it's a new program. Yes I don't think someone should place 10 small orders a day just for samples but I do feel that they are not being fair. How about (don't hate me here) they either have flash shipping or Rouge with free shipping and not both. Maybe they would not have issues with samples and other small orders.

I seriously wouldn't worry about it.  Everyone is getting stressed, but I think it is totally fair for sephora to revoke someone's rouge privileges if they are actually abusing the system, and I don't think the occasional small order will do it.  We don't know how that person got their account flagged, as they didn't actually post here and someone only posted what they had heard, but we know that people are making a bunch of $1 or $2 purchases to rack up on freebies (like the recent kat von d set) just so they can sell it on ebay (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.Xsephora+kat+von+d+vib&_nkw=sephora+kat+von+d+vib&_sacat=0&_from=R40)  Which to me, is a pretty *sshole move, as it prevents other VIBs from getting the set and is pretty greedy. (I am definitely not talking about people who ordered a couple extra to give as gifts, fwiw).  We know from shows like extreme couponing that people like to abuse any kind of freebie/deal system, which ruins it for everyone.  (Just to cover my bases- I am not against people couponing, or taking advantages of deals, because obviously that's what they're for).  Just remember that there are a lot of people in this world who are extremely greedy, and if you are worried about a few small purchases every now an again, you are not one of them :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

So shady! The one seller has five sets selling. This is so irritating to me. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

She mentioned she put in two orders -- one for $30, one for $14, and the $30 was cancelled without any notification even though it was still being sold on the site (the thread was deleted, so this is going off memory, but I believe she had to go through her order history to look up its progress), so she called and was told that her account had been flagged for too many small orders. And the rep refused to place another order for her on the phone and insisted she go online and do it herself.

Granted, people are probably taking advantage of their free shipping to get samples (I've done it a few times), but it doesn't change the fact that Rouge members have spent at least $1000 at Sephora-- they get samples for free and their shipping costs are probably pretty minimal, so is it really worth antagonizing people who are clearly loyal customers?

Again, if they had problems with people abusing the system, they could have easily stipulated some limitations in their terms instead of advertising free shipping for any order. What's too small an order? $1? $5? $10? $20? I don't like feeling anxious that my next order might get me in trouble with Sephora.
Thanks for providing additional info. If what she told you is true, then yes, this REALLY upsets me. I don't think $30 is a low order by any means!!!

ETA: I don't know if the person who mentioned selling 5 identical items on ebay thinks that is this same person. Of course selling on ebay is a BIG abuse of the system. Luckily, my $3 order just shipped. Whew! I'll have to watch it on those, but I am glad I now have 2 cute little hello kitty nail polishes. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I am going to the one in te Chicago area. I went to a VIB bumble & bumble event they had this summer and it was awesome, so I'm really interested to see this one!

I placed a $215 dollar order this morning and I placed a   $12 dollar order this afternoon for nail polish  now I am scared they are going to be upset about the $12 dollar order. The first order has shipped . The second one not yet. If they flag a small order then that is not fair to us  I think

I wouldn't be worried. I think small orders as in like, 5 $5 orders in an hour or buying 5 items separately within a few minutes of each other.

They also ran out when they were supposed to send it to me.  They didn't  say anything about it in my order either. I called them and they said they ran out. They were actually rude and nasty.. I asked them when they would have it in and if they could send it to me and they said no. They said go to a store and get your welcome kit. I told them  the nearest store is at least an hour away.  They said  I had to go to a store. So I went to a store and the girl gave me the kit. I just think they should have handled it differently.

Yes, that is exactly what happened to me! I do live within a close proximity to many Sephora stores so it's not a huge deal for me to go and pick it up, but I thought the same thing as you; the lady I spoke with was unpleasant. She spoke to me in a rude and condescending manner as though she thought I was up to something suspicious! I was not happy with the way it was handled either and I haven't yet remembered to pick up the kit while I have been in store .

Are you guys calling the VIB-R line?

I'm not sure if this is just me...  I find that for the couple of times that I've rang Sephora CS through their VIB Rouge line, the CS's attitude and tone is surprisingly rude and condescending.  So I don't use the VIB-R line anymore, I just use the regular VIB line.

I will start using VIB line then. I called the Rouge line when I got a completely different order than what I ordered and they were pretty much rude to me and didn't seem like they cared. Not only that the Dior sample set that I ordered I could no longer get. I then wanted to see about using the hourglass code since it was a "newish" order and couldn't get the Dior (which was very upsetting) she basically said she couldn't do that since it wasn't on the original order. I could get a refund (would take up to 5 days to credit back) and then re-order the item. Are you kidding?? Anyways she was pretty rude about the whole thing. Called back few days later due to tracking saying it wasn't shipped and got even someone MORE rude than that!! So far I am not feeling "special" at all for being a Rouge and spending tons of money.

When I didn't get the welcome kit when I became rouge I called there line. No one answered the first few times I called then someone answered and told me they couldn't do anything about me not getting a welcome kit. They were nasty and said they had nothing to do with the welcome kit. I called the regular number for Sephora they at least listened to me and advised me to go to the store to get a welcome kit because they ran out. I have no clue they act like we will get better service the regular line answered right away and the rouge one took me a while to get on the phone.

That is amazing!  Their job is to take care of you, if they had nothing to do with the kit, they need to make it their business as you are their job.

It seems like the VIB-R CS are new hires with little actual CS experience or even training.  They should have graduated their VIB CS to the VIB-R CS so that at least the Rouge folks have a working baseline of Customer Service requirements.

Yeah I was calling the VIB Rouge line. Definitely tempted to try the VIB line instead in future!

I have only called the Rouge line once. Well, twice, but I just left a message the second time. I was lucky in that I got great service. My problem was that I ordered the trio of eyeliners offered by Eyeko (blue, brown, and black). My brown was dried out. When I called to tell them about it, they resent it and just told me to mail the first one back. Unfortunately, the brown was also dried out in the second set. I'm betting they are all that way, so even though I wanted the set very much, I sent both back and did not risk placing a 3rd order. It seems the biggest problem with CS relates to the welcome kit. Yes, they should have the power to do something about it, but if they really can't help, they should be trained in what to say and how to say it at the very least. There's a big difference between being told politely they can't help and you will need to go to a store and being told nastily they can't help and then told to go to the store and leave them alone. Even if the customer continues to complain (which I think is valid for those who live far away from a physical store) the CS person should politely say they will pass along your complaint to management. Yep, sounds like Sephora really needs to step up their CS training *and* change how they promote people. New hires (if that's what they are) should *not* be the ones handling the Rouge line.

Sounds to me like VIB Rouge and Glossybox hire their CSR from the same group of applicants.

Well said!

Who was flagged? I don't think they care about multiple orders of $25, that really adds up. Plus, a Rouge member spends a lot at sephora anyway so it seems like a good idea to have them order more frequently. The only thing I can see as problematic would be if someone was placing a lot of small orders, like a few dollars, repeatedly. The other day I placed a six dollar order, but I've also placed two orders that were over $50 in the last week or two.

I need an intervention!!!  I've placed at least a dozen $1 orders since the Kat Von D came out, not for myself or to sell on eBay but I've been putting these beauty kits to go to our troops in AFG, because I have like 5 subs and a private stock of shadows and blush that I'll never get through.  I can't wear shadow and the one blush I purchased while traveling in Asia 2 years ago is barely touched.

I ran out of Ipsy bags and low and behold the Kat Von D came along!

I don't feel aweful for doing it, but I keep getting these powerful strong urges to order more $1 nail polishes (also being sent to AFG) but I don't want to shoot myself in the foot and get flaged by Sephora.  I need support in not placing anymore $1 orders, because it's so easy to rationalize away!

I'm turnig myself in to the Sephora online low buy abuse task force...

I would definitely be careful. I was just reading all of the fine print for VIB Rouge and Flash Shipping and both say they can be terminated by Sephora at any time for any reason and in the case of Flash Shipping, no refund.

They will eventually find out  ( maybe not they don't seem to bright)  Then they could block you from ever buying from them. If you want to risk that its up to you. I have much makeup from beauty boxes that I don't use and I put it every 3 months in a bag and take it to a womans shelter.
