SEPHORA: VIB Rouge

At a physical Sephora today, was told that as a VIB Rouge reach 100 points during a purchase, added bonuses will be provided.

Reminded me, over a phone purchase for $105+, bonus bag was in there and CS said "oh, you are also getting a deluxe Versace Perfume, must be a VIB Rouge perk!"  

So you do get something extra ~ at $100, something like a 100 pointer but without spending the points, I just don't know that you get to choose.  

 
It says online that I've hit Rouge with my basket online, but when I go through the check out process, there's no option for a VIB Rouge Welcome Kit and it doesn't show it as being in my bag, either. Has anyone else experienced this?

But like someone else here, it has been WONKY for me. On August 12th (in the email anouncing the 2-4x bonus) it said I was "$279 away from unlocking VIB Rouge." I then placed two orders, one for $107 and one for $115 (subtotals), and when I went back, it said I was.... $120 from unlocking Rouge. WHAT? And it stayed that way, even after I received both orders in the mail.

Here's where it gets even more insane. I think "okay, whatever" and put together a new basket with $125 worth of stuff. It tells me if I check out with what's in my basket, I'll unlock Rouge. YES!! But of course, I decide to break the order into two to get more sampes & promos. I took $25 worth of product out of my bag (at which point it said "Spend just $25 more to unlock Rouge." Check out, go to put the $25 products in my bag & finally unlock Rouge, and... it says I need to spend $89 more to unlock Rouge. WHAT WHAT??

I'm thinking between all the number discrepancies & the lack of a Welcome Kit, I should call customer service.  Note: I HAVE written them three different times about this (three because I think one might have not gone through), the first time after the first order on the 12th, and customer service hasn't responded, once. I've always gotten a response from them within 12 hours,  24 at the MOST. It's like they're purposely ignoring me. I even copy & pasted the original email/forwarded the original email to them (once each) that said I was just $279 away from unlocking it so they'd know I wasn't just making stuff up.

I should DEF call tomorrow before making this final order, yeah?

I was having trouble placing my Sephora order online, so finally called it in today, and I'm glad that I did! The customer service girl was very kind and helpful. She was able to pull the items in my shopping cart up and help me check out without any issues. She told me that I would get triple points for my order, and they will start showing up in everyone's accounts in October. (I thought that was a bit weird...it'd be better if it was instantly, but oh well.) Maybe ask and double check when you call as well!

Yes, call. They'll be able to manually adjust your status (usually it takes the system a couple of days to register your new level, but why wait before taking advantage of the free shipping with all the cool things happening this week?).

The same thing happened to me-- I put in a couple of orders to get to Rouge on Monday, it still showed me as VIB on Tuesday after my orders shipped, so I e-mailed them and went on BeautyTalk to find a mod. The mod was much quicker-- she was able to forward my info to CS and it was done in a couple of hours. I didn't get a response to my e-mail until Thursday; they're probably slammed right now.

I've noticed with my two (smallish) online orders since they activated Rogue that I've been given a fourth sample in my boxes.  I was wondering about that... The first was a deluxe Smashbox primer sample and the second was a decent sized Becca packet.

Maybe they're giving Rogue a surprise bonus in every box?  Who knows...

This is what was happening to me. The amount of $ it said I needed to spend to become VIB Rouge actually increased after making purchases. After a day and a half the system updated itself and for my next order the VIB Rouge kit was automatically added to my cart.

I picture several bins amongst the thousands of bins in their picking warehouse at the end of the line, right before boxing marked "ROUGE VIB +1" that the packers grab one of and include in an outgoing box for each order.

Then for the $100+ probably triggers something in the system and assigns something from their 'codes' inventory to be added into your box.

Would be tickled to see the extras that other VIB Rouge member are getting!!

I've been getting an extra sample in each online order as well, it's a nice little surprise.

I haven't noticed any better treatment at the stores, though (even though the cashiers do ooh and ahh at the shiny red card). I bought a Mia and wasn't given any samples. And I spent $160 another time and they gave me two foil samples. Going to stick to shopping online-- at least I get to use my eBates to help balance out my sales tax.

Oh, and my extras: Cartier Declaraion d'un Soir EdT, Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio EdT, Clinique Even Better Lotion (foil), Nars Pro-Prime (foil), Ren Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask (little 5 ml tube).
 
There were a couple of full size gifts that some Rouge members have already received as surprises without ordering anything. They've been posted on Instagram. Very jealous! They are super awesome gifts, though I do wish we had all got them.

Has anyone ever had an issue with not receiving their 3 free samples? On my most recent order, the items were marked off on the list, but weren't in the box. I understand that they make substitutions if they selected items are out of stock, which would be fine, but I didn't get any at all. It's not a huge deal, and I'm not crying over it or anything since they're free items. but I admit I was still a tad disappointed. I'm trying to decide if it's worth pursuing at all, so thought I'd ask here if this has happened to anyone else.

 
They seem to slip the samples in last, right on top - and I've received mine with two sample cards dangling out the side if they didn't tape all four ends down completely. Had this happen a couple times and was amazed one didn't make the leap to full freedom in transmit, lol...
