I've had oily/comgo skin all my life but this winter I have been SOO DRY on my cheeks and nose. I have no idea how to deal with this my normal moisturizers don't seem to be doing anything
That's me! I have had to take off my makeup after putting it on to battle the flakes that are looking all nasty. The only thing that helps me is a facial oil. I have an Origin's one that I am using. I had acne prone skin when I was younger and never used moisturizer at all. So, the thought of putting oil on my skin is always strange to me.

@@tweakabell do you have a sample of First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream? I;m a hot oily mess, but some of my exfoliants dry out my neck, the FAB is the best thing I've tried. Who am I kidding you probably have the full size!

Today at Starbucks the girl working the window told me my makeup looked great, that I had perfect contour and highlight and was all glowy....I don't have any contour or highlight on?!?!? Just my super oily skin, lol!

Oil is my go to I use Maracuja and the Boscia Tsubaki one depending on the day. THey just aren't cutting it on my cheeks. The only thing that came close was stem cellular moisturizer from Juice but it was a sample and it's gone now, lol.

I do have the ultra repair cream but I remember it being rich and I'll take scaly over giant acne any day

Edit of course I say that and my face is awful today flaking everywhere FAB here I come.

If I turn into a giant pimple I'm blaming you :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

It is rich but not greasy after it soaks in. I haven't had a breakouts from it, but I get how that could make ya nervous.

This would make my day! I wouldn't mind some feedback on how my makeup application is looking. Nobody I know wears that much. I have been fiddling with foundations so much I would take even a negative review and a nice starbucks coffee as well.  :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

She was so sweet and sincere, it really made my morning =)

Although I won't be using this foundation/sunscreen combo again, 3 hours in and I've blotted 5 times.

Wait...you have to apply sunscreen separate from foundation? Like, on top? I find any sunscreen to be too greasy but use it when I'm going to a pool or to lay out. I have some sunscreen samples I'll send you, seems that is an important part of your routine and I don't use them...the brands are high end so maybe that will help?

I've been adding in Jojoba oil to my routine. I think it's the oil that supposed to be closest to human sebum. My skin is also usually combination, but has been rather dry this winter. When I first added in the oil I needed several drops because it was so parched. I also used a moisturizing mask once to help along the process. Now I only do one or two at the very most when doing my face cleansing / moisturizing routine. It's definitely more moisturizing that the Maracuja, I think. Plus, I think it may have had the added benefits of clearing out some of my pores.

The actual SPF coverage in foundation is minimal and only lasts for around 2-4 hours. I wasn't wearing any SPF before so it's still an improvement for me but do not rely solely on the SPF in your foundation

Edit foundation for moisturizer i have no brain today

Is it similar to Argan or the oilless oil? Those sit on my face and/or break me out.

@ Yes I'm crazy! If you want to know my am routine I'll put in a spoiler

Cleanser
Liquid Exfoilator
Benzoyl Peroxide Treatment

Sunscreen (30 or higher)

Paula's Choice Shine Stopper

Primer (some of the ones I use have spf)

Concealer

Foundation (some of the ones I use have spf)

Finishing powder (some have spf)

Then later in the day I have a Bare Minerals Spf that comes in a twist up brush that I will apply.

I tan very quickly (in under 5 minutes) so I like to stay one color, lol. Also I swear all that sunscreen has kept me wrinkle free at 37.

I've never used either of those, so I can't say. At least, I've never used argan on my face. My hair products are full of the stuff, but that's great for my hair. It's definitely heavier than the Maracuja (passion fruit) if I recall correctly, but then I use even less of it. I use less in the morning, focusing on just my driest areas, and will use a little more at night, giving some attention to my less dry areas. It is very similar to human produced oil, so it can take a bit to be accustomed to if you use too much. It hasn't broken out my skin. It's also pretty cheap. I picked up a 4 oz bottle of 100% pure Jojoba at Trader Joe's for under $10, I think. I know I'm not doing a very good job of describing it. I think it's not an uncommon ingredient in cosmetics and skin care.

ARGH! I am going to need to restrain myself from ordering tiny amounts of things all the time.

I keep looking at the sales page and thinking, "Why yes, I do need a 15th bottle of gray nail polish or a backup liquid eyeliner." I totally don't want to be flagged for abusing free shipping, when really what would be happening is a total loss of self control and giving in to impulse buying!

@@turtleflooball I only have problems when I place multiple orders on the same day (yes I do it a lot, don't judge me lol)

*also it's not just small orders, when I'm crazed and order multiple large orders in the same day it happens too. But don't worry it always clears up within a few days and I'm back to giving them my $$$ =)

Oh, that is reassuring! I don't want to immediately lose my beloved (and much coveted) flash/access to Sephora, since the nearest one is an hour away and in a huge, crazy mall. I'd much rather shop in my apartment, in the dark, like a crazy person.

I'm going to try to keep it to one a week, just in case, and it will be good to try to impose some kind of limit on myself! ... Let's see how long that lasts. Probably until tomorrow :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I don't think they permanently ban, they just slap your hand and give you a timeout.

*also I purchase multiple times in a week and haven't had any problems, just when it's on the same day. So once a day is safe.

Oh, HUGS to you for the reassurance! You're awesome!

Also, enabling. Now I want to order every day. ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I like josie maran's argan oil LIGHT. it absorbs better than the regular.

also, i have acne prone skin and stuff makes me break out all the time, but the FAB cream does not, so hopefully you will be okay!
