Hey girl, congratulations to you for voluntarily reigning your spending in for more long-term happiness. That takes guts!I ordered that Bite three-lipstick set and I don't know why, I bought one of the colors when they first came out and promptly took it back. I hated the formula and color, and I usually ADORE Bite. I also got that Bite kit that comes with the lip mask, because i lost my last one (not even 1/4th used, sniff!) and it's a good deal. I also got the Tarte naturals palette, not the one with the lace or the zipper, but the one with the flower. I never got that one. I came SO CLOSE to buying another one of the Tarte Naturals palette with the zipper on it because the last time it was on sale, two of the shadows had been a tiny bit damaged in shipping and I couldn't replace it, but I'm trying to be better. I don't NEED ANOTHER ONE!
I'm going on my first no-buy after the holidays (well, I've been on one for the last two weeks before the other day, because I think I spent about $500 on both Secret Santas and I have seven nieces and nephews that need to be spoiled for Christmas). It's not just that I'm starting to get broke- my "fun money" account is getting dangerously low- it's that I DON'T NEED THIS STUFF. I couldn't use it all up in my lifetime, I don't think. I just need to seriously lay off and only buy the true, TRUE treasures. My boyfriend and I are building our dream house, we've got planned trips to the UK, South Africa, Japan, India (some of the few *major* tourist destinations I haven't been to yet) and, most importantly- DISNEY WORLD! My first time! My point isn't some cool brag- it's that every time I buy stuff I don't even really want that much, I take away from our fun money fund that i'm SURE we're going to want to drain while traveling this year.
I don't know why I'm telling you all of this, except that I think you wonderful gals are some of the few who will understand my compulsion to buy stuff I don't REAAAAALLY want, get suckered into sales and GWPs, and then feel blah about it. Someone want to link me to the no-buy thread? /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
Actually, if you want to join us in the No-buy section, we have several projects going on:
1. 100-day no-buy starting January 1, ending at the start of Sephora's Chic Week (a whole bunch of us, including me, are doing this one.)
2. Pan that Palette 2015 where you pick a palette that you want to hit pan on in 2015 (I'm also participating in this one.)
Hope you join us!
Also- you know the mask that comes in the Bite kit is not full-size, right? Just making sure, although you probably do know that. Still a gread deal, as that stuff lasts forever anyway!
