I see them do it all the time on beauty talk...you should be fine!
Do you know if they ask for a pic of the receipt? The one we have is a mess and has "RETURN W/O RECEIPT" on top of it because that's how they ended up fixing the whole accidentally scanning the wrong suspended transaction thing.

Hey everyone!

I am $22 away from Rouge.  (Honestly never thought I'd be saying that, lol)  I'm wondering though ... should I go buy something in-store at either the freestanding or SiJCP or should I just place an online order?  From what I understand they give you some sort of welcome kit, and a new rewards card?  The reason I ask, is I've also heard that whenever you make VIB they give you the same thing, only geared toward VIBs.  But any time I've ever made it to VIB, I've done so in-store, and they've never given me anything :/

Not that I need it but if anyone has an extra code I think I'm going to place another order... This cold is killer and I need a pick me up.

If you order online you can add the kit to your order during checkout. The kit doesn't come with a Rouge card, but you can pick it up at your store on a later date.

Ughhh someone replied to my fb message to sephora - "please allow up to 24 hours for transactions to appear"

Honey. My beauty insider card wasn't scanned. Which I clearly stated in the first line of my message. I could wait a lifetime and nothing would ever show up.

I swear sephora CS just has that answer on c&p every time they get a message that contains "missing points/purchase" and just disregards the rest of the message.

I purchase 75% online and have only hit VIB (& now Rouge- yesterday!!!) online. I always get a welcome kit with some bonus coupons and now with Rouge it comes with lipstick as well. I have sketchy luck with my SiJCP orders even showing on my points, so if you are indifferent I would highly recommend doing the order online.

I am $154 from Rouge! I don't know if I'll make it but if things are busier next year than this year it would nice to just be a be able to order online. I would have ordered the YSL Tint In Oil in Drive me Copper already if I had free shipping but I am waiting for the 20% off sale items to make an order. I may stock up on some staples in the next couple of weeks in order to reach Rouge.

I'm basically pulling my hair out at this point. I replied that my card was not scanned and they came back with "we are showing that a points redemption you made so the transaction was captured, please allow 24 hours blah blah"

Oh. My. God. The 100 point nail polish I picked up was a completely separate transaction. No s*** they scanned my card for that!

ETA: I would say I should've waited til tomorrow before contacting them, but last time I did it was just "please wait 3 days" instead

@ ~ so frustrating. I hate receiving generic answers.
It drives me crazy when the generic answers don't even address the issue. The biggest part of CS's job to read/hear the issue and Sephora's never seems to actually do that. I think I'll just call the VIB hotline tomorrow, the only times I've ever received good CS from them is via phone.

I just realized only $5.00 of my last SIJCP transaction got put on my account! I spent over $50 and I can't seem to find the receipt. The item was not scanning and they manually put in a price.

Womp womp so it turns out the SAs forgot to ask to scan my beauty insider card again during the ~adventure I had with my friend earlier so I didn't get any points (or requalify for VIB) smh. I just fb messaged them to see if they can add the purchase and points to my account. Does anyone know if they'll do that or am I just out of luck?
If they can't do it by Facebook, they CAN add your points by phone if you call them.  They'll ask for receipt info and do it manually.  But Facebook team should be able to do it, they adjust points for other things. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Unless they've changed anything this year vs. last year...

You get a welcome kit with a mini red bite beauty lipstick and a card that tells you all your "perks".  They did not include any coupons like the VIB kits get, in last years kits.  (and you get a red formula x polish for re-rouging this year if you made rouge last year)...

The kits are the same both in store and online.  However, you only get a physical new rouge card if you go get it in-store.  They don't send you a physical card in the online kits.  Some stores claim to be out of stock on the physical cards, but of course this is dependent on the store.

You can get your welcome kit online and then next time you're in-store just tell them you need to get a physical rouge card, make sure they have it tied to the correct account email when they connect the card for you.

do you know what kind of receipt info they'll need? Is it the barcode at the bottom? Since the transaction was all levels of messed up I don't really want them to deny me the purchase credit because it was done as a return without receipt to store credit to using store credit to refunding $3... And i don't have a receipt for the transaction where they accidentally rang up a MUFE foundation instead of the tarte set since they immediately realised the mistake.

There should be some kind of receipt that was printed showing the transaction, even the first one done as return w/o receipt, because they have to account for records in the system at the store.  Did they not give you one?... I don't have a store receipt on hand right now, but there is usually some kind of store number/info, and either cashier/transaction number info printed on it they ask for (when I had them do it by phone once).  Did the same cashier do the return and correct purchase?

I'm kind of confused, lol, but if you did a return for store credit, you don't usually lose your points, but when you use the store credit-you don't gain any points, unless you end up going over the credit amount and pay out of pocket for some.  At least that's how my points have always worked when I did return for store credit... because you already spent the money and got the points, you're basically just doing an "exchange" for other merchandise, not spending new money out of pocket again... does that make sense?

(let's see if I got the situation right? :-\)

So, if you were rang up for the wrong item, and they did a return for store credit.. Did they actually charge your card/pay cash first, then do a return for store credit?  If that is the case, then you should get points for the purchase that was returned for store credit, but when you use the credit in store-that transaction wont receive points... But if your card wasn't scanned for that first wrong purchase transaction, those points wont show up on your account and you are owed them.

When you used the credit to get the correct item, you don't normally earn points on the credit part, and then got the difference back as cash.. and you scanned your card this transaction and got the point perk--which is the transaction the Sephora people are looking at...

Did I get that right? haha.  You will have better luck by phone getting your points.  I wouldn't trust in many service people by web to get this understood on Facebook.  But by phone it should be pretty easy to understand and get your points.

I tried to use my discount card once online and once at Sephora JCP like some of you, and it showed up as used, so I couldn't used it. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> So sad! I wonder what happened.

You almost got it lol. Basically my friend's debit card had an issue and he put the transaction on hold so he could check other people out. (I was letting her use my discount). I redeemed a point perk with no purchase while she was fixing her card issue. Then we tried to do the transaction again and the different SA didn't ask for my BI card and it didn't occur to me that he'd need it again. He realised he'd rung up the wrong item after my friend paid (both totals were around $40 so we didn't notice). Then he returned it without a receipt, sold us the correct item (still without asking for my BI card), and gave her back the remaining money in cash. So the receipt shows a return of a MUFE foundation without a receipt, and then the purchase of a price-adjusted tarte bon voyage set since they'd already torn up my discount card in the first suspended transaction, and a cash refund of $3.25. The director in charge oversaw the whole thing and signed off on it (he was the original person at checkout in the first transaction).

Ugh - I had my order from 12/13 cancelled late tonight because they were out of "Dior Diorific Vernis Golden Shock" and that dropped my order below the $50 threshold for the VIB giftcard, so it just auto-cancelled!  Thank goodness I just made Rouge because after I got the e-mail, here on the East coast I had 20 minutes to call in and not have everything totally screwed up.  I swapped out the top coat for a bottle of "Diorific Vernis Sparkling Plum" and they helped me redo the order by phone.

(And then I had to hit eBay to snag the top coat for more than I planned to pay because apparently it is now sold out everywhere - thanks Sephora!)

My VIB Rouge welcome kit was on that order.  And thank goodness I didn't lose the ROUGEHAIR perk...  I did lose my samples, however, and I had some good ones that I was only able to swap out for decent ones tonight.

This wasn't a "jump off a building if I can't get it" gift, but wow - did NOT need that tonight!

Oh sephora... The CS guy who'd been replying to me on fb just called me Lisa. Which... is not my name. The poor guy can't even read my name off of a fb message and type it out. It's 3 letters long! He probably didn't want to lose the cookie cutter "please wait 24 hours" in his c&p

He added the points to my account but he told me to email a copy of my receipt to CS to update my spending. I'll still call tomorrow but if they tell me I have to email my receipt I'm just going to buy $25 more worth of stuff to guarantee I hit VIB instead of dealing with the hassle of getting another CS person who's going to tl;dr my email, c&p an irrelevant answer, and call me by the wrong name.
