Just want to say that having your phone and your order pulled up WILL NOT = easy return or return w/receipt at SiJCP. Been there. Been denied that. It's a total crap shoot. Just being real so folks don't get their hopes up. They always do no receipt for me and or JCP credit (I have like $130 in credit right now at JCP but they said I can use at SiJCP). If not...well I'll post back later today and let you know! LOL!
I agree it's still not easy, if there is not a JCP receipt then we HAVE to use your ID but the associate is supposed to enter it in a certain way so it doesn't count against you. And we pretty much just have to do the instore credit.. It's correct that it can only be used at SiJCP (or out in JCP if you wanted). I hate turning people away but unfortunately, the freestanding Sephora's are the much better way to return items.

It would be nice if the two computer systems were intertwined but they aren't (I can't use my employee discount at a freestanding or online but I do get a JCP discount).

Ha ha, @@Jaly I think you misunderstood me - those were the reasons I was pointing out as WHY it is SiJCP has a different system, therefore allowing the use of the Holiday gift card twice, not trying to justify it. I don't spend enough there to care about the 25 points I'd earn, and I certainly never make returns to them. The closest SiJCP is more than half an hour from me, while there is a freestanding store less than two miles away.

I am not upset, nor did I see anyone else combining their grievances with SiJCP with a determination to "double dip". What I did allude to was that with the amount of money I, and many of the other women here who patronize Sephora (Perhaps yourself included), they will not be losing financially if I save $50 instead of $25, or $40 instead of $20, or $30 instead of $15.

I am open to everyone's opinion and even criticism, but please don't twist my meaning or put words in my mouth. Thank you very much, I appreciate it. :flowers:
Oh, my post wasn't direct at you at all >_<  Nor did I think you were upset or anything.... I was quoting you as a success story of able to use the reward card twice..... and exactly what you stated in your post that Sephora cannot control it b/c it is a different system..

I have been seeing different people having problems returning to SiJCP and different people having success in using the reward card twice..  so my post was to sum up the pro and cons of this different system....

I'm not suggesting that people double dip out of revenge either...   but that if people know that is how the system is, people can adjust their expectation and not be surprised... and then get upset.....

as far as folks double dipping at SiJCP and if sephora losing money or not I personally don't have an opinion on that....

@@bluemustang most people have their phones and could provide the email or show the order in their Sephora account, why isn't this suggested to the customer? Just saying...

That would make the whole process better for the employee and the customer. I avoid JCPS because of this and because my purchases never apply points.
I actually have a surprising amount of people that delete those emails apparently or can't get service in our store.. So sometimes they say to not bother looking it up and just use their ID where it counts against them because they do so few returns, they don't mind. I don't know why it's not suggested more. Even with the receipt, We are still limited though, we can mostly just do the in store credit or an exchange and if we don't carry the item, it really is difficult to do. The free standings Sephora's are just easier.
That' sucks about your points! I know others have said on here that they have had issues too.. I make purchases all the time (hello clearance polish haha) and so far, my points always show up. I don't think I'd go either if I was having issues. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

P.s. On the ambient lighting palette - how is it for pale peeps? I have one shade of the powders and use it all over. I really like it. Wasn't sure how the other colors would work for me though.
I had the ambient lighting palette and I'm a fairly pale person. (Not quite porcelain but fair thanks to Scandinavian genes.) I ended up returning the palette. Only incandescent could be used as a highlighter and it didn't seem light enough so I felt I had better solutions in other products. The other two shades were a bit too dark and I used one for a subtle bronzer and the other I ended up slapping on as a makeshift non-pink blush. I played around with the palette a bit but just wasn't seeing the value in it. If I were more of a maven or had a lot of expendable cash I would have kept it though.

That said, I adore Diffused Light as an all-over powder. I think it's perfect for me, evens out my skin tone and provides a fabulous blur. I also really enjoy the ambient blush palette.

I don't have the palette.  But, I have Dim Light which I think is in the palette.  For me, this color is like a bronzer.  It gives me warmth wherever I put it.  If I use this all over my face, it changes my foundation and its too dark.

Casper checking in here! I don't know if I'm using it right, but I like my Ambient Light palette a lot. I use dim light all over, incandescent light as a highlighter cheeks and forehead..not even sure if that's how you use highlighter but I like it), and although I haven't found the best use for radiant light, yet but it has helped me contour a little as I've used it like a shimmery bronzer. I'm always hesitant to pull it out, though, because I always think it will be too much shimmer (but it hasn't been so far).

I think Dim Light is the one I would use like a bronzer too.

I stood at my window, sneakily peering at the UPS guy last evening. He was delivering, like, 200 boxes to my apt building, and one of them was mine!

Ended up using my $15 BI card for a lip tar extravaganza. Also, I now have so many samples I can't close the large tupperware I keep them in. (Yay!)

I thought the first one was gimmicky, but the shadows are great and the smell is amazing. I like it so much I want this new one, but I purchased 3 palettes in the last few weeks.

I wanted to love the Chocolate palette so much, but I must be the only person in the world that those shadows crease on. I tried so hard to make them work. Just as well, I suppose. The asymmetry probably would have driven me mad in the end.  :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

@@Tamara76 I have had that monopoly in my cart quite a few times but never bought it.  I don't think my boyfriend would want to play that version  :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
You might be surprised... :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I purchased it as a gift for my daughter, but I couldn't resist and ended up breaking it out the other night as an early gift.  Once my daughter and I started playing, my hubby and 18 yo son became very interested and sat down and played a round with us.  It was a lot of fun!

I received the order I made with my $25 card last night!  Yay!

Unfortunately, my lovely Meteorites were mostly disintegrated.  Boo!

There is a happy ending, though - Sephora is shipping me a replacement as my order was obviously damaged during shipping - Yay again!

Question:  This is my first Meteorites purchase - do they normally get crushed during shipping?  I wonder if I would have been better off braving the holiday shopping madness and purchasing them at Sephora.

I was sad to have missed the f-bomb 100 pt perk but found it in store! actually found it in 2 stores near me.

I'm not a lippie person so I'm not sure if I can pull it off but I'm going to try!

I read some reviews on the Chocolate palette that weren't raving about the shadows. It's always hard to tell until you test it yourself though. The best part of the palette is certainly the cocoa smell and just how lovely it looks. If I had the money I would totally buy them both for that feature alone.

Unfortunately I already bought 3 palettes this week so I cannot justify another.
