I ran into some problem at JCPenny Sephora today, and I am wondering if anyone had the same experience. I went in today to return the origins set from Black Friday because it was smaller than I expected. I knew I could have returned online but I thought I would go in for some shopping as well. They told me that they don't sell the product and I am returning without a receipt. But in fact, I brought the shipping receipt/notice that came with my order, and it is certainly within 30 days, and it is brand new unopened. After a lot of struggle, they processed the return. But they printed out another notice warming me not to return to them again. Something to the effect that I return too much stuff without receipt, that they can no longer accept my returns. In fact, I have never returned a single thing at Sephora, neither online nor in store before. This has left a very sour taste in me, it feels like they are accusing me of fraud.

Have anyone had the same experience? Should I complain or just never bother with Sephora again?
That's pretty ridiculous, in my opinion. Sephora in JCP should be able to process online returns, and if they can't, then that's Sephora's problem that needs to be fixed. I would complain, especially because it's not fair that they are giving you a warning even though you are not a serial returner.

I've had the same experience, except my item wasn't even returned! They said they could only give me a JCP gift card... Yeah no thanks!

SIJCP treats them like returns without receipts because it's not the same system, but if you were to have taken it to a freestanding sephora then it wouldn't have been a problem. Sephora is ridiculous for banning you if that was your only one and I would call the number on that warning and ask why they banned you. It happened to me once when I didn't know about the SIJCP rule( I made about 3 returns from online) and they overturned it after I sent them copies of my order slips since they're supposed to but a special code that's supposed to indicate you had a receipt but from online or a free standing store.

the thing I will probably actually pull the trigger on next is probably a good highlighter/illuminizer. I want that glowy look. Does anyone have any recos? I have a bunch in my cart now to remind me to read more reviews - has anyone tried any of these?

The return flagging thing is so weird. Are there other stores that do that? I mean other than big box/home stores where people try to return really expensive electronics without a receipt or something. Why is Sephora so strict about it? I can see if someone tried to return 6 things in a month without a receipt or something, but banning people after just a couple of incidents seems ridiculous to me. I think they should prioritize customer service over obsessing about violations and diversion and all these things that can end up alienating people.

I have the Shimmery skin perfector by Becca and the Touche EClate by YSL wild edition.

The Becca one it's the type u would mix with your foundation (very little goes a LONG way) or just apply with ur fingers/stippling brush on ur cheekbones. The YSL one I use to brighten my undereye area after my corrector/concealer, it's beautiful, not too heavy. Love it.

The nars multiple can be trickier to use as it's not as creamy, and the UD naked illuminator is pretty but it has TONS of glitter, I would only use this on my body not my face.

If u want me to swatch them later for u, I can :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I'm $44 away and I tried to spend that last night. I went into SiJCP armed with my $15 coupon and was determined to make it happen.  It did not.  I decided to just find something from sephora.com rather than head over to the actual sephora store.

Any recommendations would be great!
Any new brushes you need/want? I love the MUF ones I bought earlier this year! Use them every day. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

@@kyxli How is the coverage on the Dior? Their primer does amazing things for my oil slick...maybe that and the bb cream could be a 1- 2 punch.
The coverage is decent for a bb cream, but definitely not full coverage. I haven't tried any of their foundations, but maybe they also have one that's good for oil control, and has better coverage than the bb cream? I haven't tried their primer, either, so I might have to try that sometime. I have ridiculously oily skin that always gets oily after an hour or two, even if I use bb cream and a oil controlling setting powder. The Dior nude bb cream is the best one I've tried so far... it keeps me mostly matte for 5 or 6 hours.

Based on my own experience:

Becca: little goes a very long way, but very pretty if you get the right color/amount down.  The trio for 25$ come with wand applicators, and is easier to apply/control.  (my fave is Opal)

Nars: not as creamy, most highlighting ones are full of glittery chunks, don't last all day (for me).

YSL: I've never seen any "glow-y" effect when I've tried them.  They brighten more than highlight for me, and even then they make my skin look older for some reason.  Also found them too drying, but maybe they just don't agree with me?

Too Faced: I tried this one and the candle light one, didn't like either.  They took multiple layers to show anything on my skin and were such a let down.

Hi, so I work at SIJCP.. I just wanted to clarify that the shipping invoice is not actually a receipt.. It doesn't show the prices you paid or who what method (so as an example, we wouldn't know if you paid full price or if it was a sale item or if you used a discount code like they're offering right now with a $$ off). You need to have the email that was your order confirmation, either on your phone or printed out. Most people don't know that and so we do have to process it as a return with no receipt. If you do to many returns that way, they do flag you and it will print out a 'warning' (we don't have access to how many you have done, it's automatic- maybe you have done JCP returns?). For what it's worth, I know Walmart and target are the same, they always take your ID for returns with no receipt, I don't think it's all that uncommon. You probably had a holiday hire that was frazzled and didn't explain it well. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Also with no receipt, we can only offer in store credit which can only be used at SIJCP or JCP. I always encourage people to just go to a free standing sephora to do the return. It's not that I'm trying to be difficult, customer service is important to me personally, but if you go to a free standing Sephora, you can use the card at any sephora and online. I do a lot of online orders and I'd be frustrated to not be able to use my credit anywhere I wanted.

As for the origins, since we don't carry it, we can't scan it to put it back in as a return and it's not easy at all to make it work.. I've only done it once or twice and it's a huge pain. Since we don't sell it in store, there is no way to resale it, it literally is put in the trash. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I'm sorry you had a bad experience, I hope this helps a bit. It's hard when as an employee, we're limited to the computer systems and their rules. I want everyone to have a great experience!

The coverage on the DiorSkin Nude BB Cream is sort of fair-to-medium depending on how your skin starts. It's a little difficult to describe because it basically Photoshops your face so you don't end up with a completely blank canvas but everything is more even but still you and a bit glowing. When I used it then it would even out redness but not completely cover blemishes, for instance. I get a lighter effect when I use the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder on my face; very similar blurring effect.

The coverage of the DiorSkin Nude Foundation is medium. You end up with a blank canvas but you still have your natural contours showing through. You don't look completely flat, but most blemishes are covered and your tone is even. Keep in mind my skin is generally decent and my biggest issue was a handful of blemishes and issues with unevenness/redness.

I can't use either of these (after they became favorites) now because I figured out dimethicone makes me breakout. But that's another story.

I do love the line.

Edit: for typos.

@@bluemustang most people have their phones and could provide the email or show the order in their Sephora account, why isn't this suggested to the customer? Just saying...

That would make the whole process better for the employee and the customer. I avoid JCPS because of this and because my purchases never apply points.

I have the UD Aura one (I had both but the other one washed me out) and it is shimmery, sparkly, and LOVELY!! Not everyday use though. I'm too old for it, actually...but I don't care! The rose gold is gorgeous on the décolleté and ok for face, but I love Borghese's Splendore for the dewy face look (I know, too bad not sold at Sephora!). I mean you can wear the UD on your face, and esp if you are younger, but I think it is more for body. Or maybe a light swipe over the high cheek bone (on top of blush). My two cents!!

Just want to say that having your phone and your order pulled up WILL NOT = easy return or return w/receipt at SiJCP. Been there. Been denied that. It's a total crap shoot. Just being real so folks don't get their hopes up. They always do no receipt for me and or JCP credit (I have like $130 in credit right now at JCP but they said I can use at SiJCP). If not...well I'll post back later today and let you know! LOL!

I've used the YSL Touche Eclat as an under-brow highlighter and on the rest of my face. I feel it absorbs too readily into my skin and makes no difference under my brows but I like that it's so smooth and quick to absorb on other parts of my face. It does feel like a more natural brightener than highlighter but overall it's a little overrated for the price. A very fancy case if you have the money to spend though. It depends on where you use it.

For highlighters I recommend the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder. I've been using Diffused Light as more of a setting powder and it evens me out, gives me a super subtle (natural) glow, and also blurs my complexion a bit which makes it even more amazing. When I was kicking all creams with silicone to the curb then all I used was my regular moisturizer (non-tinted) and the lighting powder and it did wonders. (To go from regular BB cream or foundations to nothing is rather horrifying. And the Lighting Powder does have a -cone in it but powders don't seem to give me breakouts so it was fine.) They have other shades that are brighter or darker depending on your skin tone and how you want to use them. So if you want something that's purely a highlighter and not for all-over-application then there's an answer there too.

Has anyone tried this RMS luminizer that has been raved about lately?

I have that RMS luminizer, or at least I did, I don't remember if I kept it or not.  It was okay.  It wore off fast because it has a greasier-cream texture, and kind of made my skin tone look dirty when it mixed with my makeup.  I didn't feel it was worth the cost.  It is kind of a dirty champagne color that leans on the silver side of champagne.

Can someone do me a huge favor? I can't find all the info I need on my phone...I'm shopping as we speak, have two emails and a physical gift card for sephora ($25 off purchase of $50 or more) but I don't remember how to maximize best. Do I shop online with physical card and then in store at SiJCP? If so, then how do I do the email ones? Sorry to ask I'm just not fining the tips and tricks I read a while back. Thank you!!!!

Not sure if anyone posted this or not, but if you have multiple email accounts that were sent the GC you CAN use them on another account. I just placed my order with my rouge gc and then entered a second gc and it worked!
