I also found out that Sephora does not care about destroying used or unused products.  They sent me the wrong item, and I didn't realize it at first, and used it.  They want it back even though I used it.  They also want the expired make up they sent me, even though I used it too before I realized it was expired.  And I called the Rouge hotline to try to get better service.  FYI - the people on the hotline are not special - they are the regular customer service  just on a different line...I had the same person before (she called me a liar in the past call) and I knew immediately I wouldn't get good service.  I also had a response via email from her too.  They are all the same.  I'm sure FB is the same too - it just depends on who you get.

I was originally going to offer to pay the difference for the item that I received, THEIR ERROR, and keep the bag, but when I realized it was her, that she was still being a b#!#%, and when she immediately said 'ok so we will charge the difference to your card then?' I thought no...you can have it back and send me what I ordered. She was so quick to be all charge happy for their mistake that I decided no thank you.  I ordered a much better product (for what I need it for) and I was just going to save everyone the hassle but f$%k it...does she think I called to ask them to charge me a bit more so I can keep the bag they sent me in error?  I would have hoped she would have just said keep it if you don't want the other one (I do, but I would order it again) or even nicer, keep it and we'll send you the correct one (at which I would have paid the difference) but those weren't options.

So I have to take my expired make up to the store for a credit - they no longer carry the item.  Or I can wait 4-6 weeks for a credit by returning it to them via mail (and I might...I'm not in love with shopping Sephora anymore...kind of fizzed out.  But LOVING Ulta right now and all my email perk bonus points and also Macy's, Nordstrom etc.)  I'm over the free samples - esp since I realized a lot of my really good samples, upon inspection, were previously opened or used.  I think I mentioned that a while back...anyway...

I received 300 points for 1) a left out 100 point algenist perk and 2) for each of the expired make up items (two tarte foundations)

I have two replacement packages coming, one of them with 3 free perfume samples and promo code ultimune (I think - the Shiseido one) with a brush set that was missing from an order, and the other with my cosmetic bag and also with a return label for my used cosmetic bag they sent me in error.

For all my free samples missing...we're sorry, we can't do anything about that.  Sure. Ok. Well I can certainly do something about where I spend my money though...good bye sephora. And just when the service in store seemed to be getting better!

I'm confused... what exactly did you order and what did you get?

Okay, I'm not trying to argue or needle the point, but I legitimately don't understand how anyone can have such consistently terrible service across a brand, when there are very many other people who don't have that problem.

For example, I dislike Ulta a LOT, but I don't get terrible service every time I go into a store, and I don't get consistently bad CS when I contact them by phone or e-mail. But combined with their store selection/layout (mine doesn't carry Real Techniques anymore, WTF) and crappy way of offering promos/samples I just don't care to shop with them.

I am not in any way trying to defend Sephora, if they've acted like fools, they deserve to lose business, I just seriously do not understand how it is possible to always receive such bad service! /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

No I know what you're talking about, I forget which item it was too... but I don't think they *always* do that... like some things can be VIB Rouge only and then released to everyone... some of them then trickle down to VIB's and then to the general public. Some items are just plain old exclusive to VIB Rouge, though.
Yeah there are 5 exclusive rouge items and it just a special RED (eyeroll) colored nail polish, lipsticks and such...

Thanks for the info ladies, mine just says sent to warehouse so I'm getting antsy.

....word, grain of salt

Mine too, and I ordered just as it was announced in here yesterday.  I like how Sephora always claims orders are processed in 1 day.  Bull crap!  My orders always take 2-3 days to process usually.  I've got 5 orders still not shipped from yesterday, and one on its way that'll arrive Tuesday.  I wonder what the method to their madness is on how they process orders.  Because lots of times people in here post when they bought something, and I'll have ordered at the same time frame...yet mine shows up days later. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Anyways, I figure if they ship my orders out by Monday they'll arrive by Wednesday.  If I don't have tracking with moving boxes by Sunday I'm going to be pissed.

So true. I had an order not ship all business week, then arrive the day after it shipped, which is the same day (today) that two different orders placed three days apart both shipped! It makes NO sense.

Proof Sephora over inflates the "value" of kits online:

Butter London "British Spice" nail polish duo...sold for $15 (great deal!), but has a "value" of $38.  I asked them on Facebook why it is higher value than it should be (30$), and they responded the packaging counts in the "value"... so the dinky plastic bag it comes in is worth 8$, LOL.

I just got it this morning, and right there, plain sight, sticker on the bag from Butter London themselves, "value $30".  Nice one Sephora, lol.  I called them out for it on Facebook with a picture of the product.  It is a great deal for the "actual" cost, but I'm sick of the falsely over inflated "values" they list (as I've seen others complain about too).

Part of me is going it's a silly thing to get worked up over and then the other part of me remembers that some people blindly trust those labels. I personally only do the calculations if I'm on the fence for something/justifying it or if it's like this set where I immediately know the value is off but I know others truly rely on that number to be accurate so they can make a purchasing decision. I use these moments to remind myself that companies are looking out for themselves, not me lol.

I agree.  I mean, I snapped it up in a heart beat because I liked the colors and it was only 15$, but it really chaps my hide they so blatantly lie about the value.  I think it annoys me more because I politely asked about it once already, and they made such a stupid claim why it is 8$ more in value.  Then I get it and there is a sticker stating the real value in front of my face, lol.

There are some sets that have packaging that does add value, like the marc jacobs lip gel set that's like over 300$.  They include the box in the value, because it is a nice reusable "real" box, not just a dinky paper box etc.  I can go with that.  But really, 8$ for a clear zip bag big enough to hold two polishes, LOL.  I can buy a real makeup bag for less than that cost.

Anyways, they responded again on Facbook saying thanks for bringing it to their attention and they'll have their website team look at it.  I hope they do change it, because just like you said--so many people use that value as their decision maker--whether up front out of excited haste, or the final straw before they cave or not.

As for the polish itself...I love the colors, but now I remember why I only have 1 butter london polish!  I hate the brushes, it is so skinny it takes forever to get good coverage.  But I'll live with it for 15$ for two. :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

BL polish brushes bend weirdly on my nail. I'll buy them on sale but never full price.

The lacquer box on that lip set is pretty, I can definitely add a value for that but clear plastic bag-never.

Wish I could be excited for this Ambient blush palette but they barely show up on medium-tan skin tone.....come on Hourglass, make some deeper shades for those of us that want to throw our money at you too!!
Thats the only thing thats holding me back from buying it im afraid it wont show up on me.
