Alright, public service announcement: 

Today, I locked myself out of my house. After bawling my eyes out at the prospect of being locked out for three hours in the rain until the BF got home, I realized I may have an alternative. I had my purse with me, which meant I had credit cards. I also had my phone (everything but the keys, naturally) so I did a quick search for how to unlock a door with a credit card. It was recommended not to use a stiff bank card, and to use a softer "rewards" style card. 

Turns out, friends, that the Sephora VIB card was a PERFECT pliability to get me back inside my house. Crisis averted. Thanks for always having my back, Sephora. 

I'll keep that in mind if I ever have to break into a house haha

It definitely scared me how easy it was! But if I had the deadbolt locked I wouldn't have lucked out like I did.

So. I have this coin jar dedicated to Sephora. Any change I have goes in it, and then I cash it in at Coinstar, and whatever I get can be spent on makeup and comic books guilt-free. The jar was about half full this morning, so I took it in. Last year, I put it on an amazon gift card to avoid the 10% fee. Today, THERE WAS A FEE-FREE SEPHORA GIFT CARD OPTION. $52.34, gang!

So I did go to the SiJCP opening and it was really underwhelming.  I couldn't take off work to be in line for a gift card, but I ended up getting there around noon on my lunch break. I got my brows done by a SA with the Anastasia pencil so that was nice that she was able to show me how to use it. I also got Erase Paste and one of the Sephora lip glosses in the test-tube looking things. They did give me a makeup bag with foils in it but it isn't anything I haven't had a foil of before. The only benefit I really got from it was that they had enough SAs working that I actually got someone to help me.

I ordered the Summer Crushes first thing this morning.  I think it has a lot of interesting items that will be worth trying out.  Plus I got the 3 samples, my b-day gift & used the new SCENTSET code (I chose the Niche Originals set).  Can't wait for it all to get here!

I was glad to see an Atelier Cologne scent in that Niche Originals set. I went to an event there last week with Birchbox and it was so interesting to learn so much about fragrance & about what makes their fragrances so much better than others!

I think the Josie Maran Cheek Gelees get a lot of love around here -- Pink Escape and Poppy Paradise are currently $13 instead of the regular $22. Not sure why!

Tempted but passing... *sigh* Low buys and whatnot. 

EDIT: With further inspection it looks like they're probably minis that are shown with an incorrect size. Pink Escape and Poppy Paradise are also listed at the regular $22 price. I think they're meaning to price the minis (I've seen them at the register) at $13 but have the wrong size posted. Maybe, maybe not.
