I just bought new shoes at Target yesterday too.  Yeah, no, I'm not allowed to buy ANYTHING else.  Stupid Summer Stash.  You got me this time, Sephora!

I need to destash my nails box this weekend- maybe I'll go through and do some serious sales on Reddit this weekend.  Spring cleaning, ahoy.

Yeah, that stuff smells devine and so does the orange blossom water!  I'm in NY and I go to Fairway - it's a gourmet supermarket chain.  The bottle I have is Alwadi but there are other brands too.  I think if you go to a premium supermarket, like Whole Foods or something they should have it.

I'm going to start expermenting with adding something to the water so that it stays fresh longer the a few weeks w/o needing to pour little bottle and refrigerate the large...  I don't know maybe some salt?  Any suggestions from chem geeks?  


Answer: Rose water is a popular ingredient in Middle Eastern cooking. Unfortunately, it is not a commonly used ingredient in Western cooking, so it may be difficult to locate for some people.

• First, try health food stores or natural grocers. People use rose water in at-home facials and these stores are usually reliable suppliers. Try Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and other local stores.
  
• Try your supermarket. Rose water is usually stocked in the "ethnic food" section. If you can't find it, ask your store manager. They may carry it, but have it shelved in an odd location. You can always request that they offer it, as well.

• Ordering online is also an easy way to get rose water. Try these online Middle Eastern grocers for all of your Middle Eastern ingredients.

Cutting up my credit card wouldn't help me on the internet shopping, I have all my numbers memorized.   /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />  Another place to look for rosewater and orange blossom water is any kind of middle-eastern market. They are usually advertised for halal meat.  Stuff like that and spices are a lot cheaper than at an upscale/gourmet store.  A tiny bottle of cardamom pods is 11 dollars at my local gourmet grocery and a huge bag is 3.50 at the middle eastern store.  They have big bottles of rosewater for inexpensive.

Uh... I just received a reship email for a Summerstash order. I did not receive a response to my email asking which shade was correct. I'm completely confused about what is going on. ETA: I did get email from them, and this is an exchange situation. It will be interesting to see what actually arrives.

I hope you get the right color. Hopefully just some of the kits have the wrong color in them.

It might be a small consolation that the swatches I found of the Josie Maran gelees (http://project-swatch.com/quick-swatches-josie-maran-coconut-watercolor-cheek-gelee/) show that pink escape and berry bliss aren't *that* different, especially when you consider how sheered out it will likely have to be to be used as a blush.  

I know it's missing *the point* that what was advertised isn't what those who bought the set are getting, but I do think it was an honest mistake and not that big of a deal.

People sell makeup on /r/makeupexchange (I think that's the subreddit), and nailpolish on /r/RedditLacqueristaSwap - I recommend reading through a few threads to see what stuff is going for!

Not sure about reddit, but try getting a Storenvy -- people just destash on there, and you can search for stuff without having to be pointed to a specific shop.

Do they let people exchange a product out of a kit for the correct one?

I bought the Tarte mascara set, with an eyeshadow/brush/rim liner last December.  I opened it, loved everything in it, but hadn't opened the mascara yet.  It was my usual mascara, and I wasn't quite finished with the current tube, so I saved it about a month.  Finally opened it up, it was all clumpy and half dried out.  I tried exchanging it for a new tube...they wanted me to exchange the whole kit for a new kit.  But I didn't have the kit with me (I was asking about it before dragging it all up to the store), and they were out of kits.. So it didn't help me anyways if I'd brought it with me.

But I guess maybe it is store specific just like for returns?

Have you tried the Shiseido lash primer? I have the same problem where non-waterproof mascaras make my lashes straighten back out. But the Shiseido lash primer keeps the curl... for a very long time. I feel like it even keeps the curl after I remove my mascara at the end of the day. It's pretty amazing to me. I highly recommend it - I can use all those mascara samples again!

Thanks for the suggestion--I recently bought the Anastasia Lash Genius waterproof topcoat which works pretty well so I  too no longer have to toss out the non-waterproof mascara samples I get.  I'll be sure to try the Shiseido one next.

Not on topic of the switch-er-roo of product, and I haven't looked at the swatch link you posted, but I did spend ample time swatching on my own arm in Sephora last fall after they came out.  SO many of the colors look so different in the pot, but looked practically the same on my arm, because yeah, they are super sheer.

They were literally all the same on my arm, except Coral Oasis and Honeymoon Honey.  The pinks and reds looked the same and nothing special (on me), so I never went back for them.  They are super pretty though, just doesn't come out that way on my face.

I kind of find it funny that Berry was the summer pick, berry says fall to me.  If they'd have made the kit with Coral Oasis I'd be snapping the kit up.  That orange Coral is so pretty for summer.

My roommate in college had a big spending problem! I would find her credit card in our freezer, frozen in a huge block of ice from time to time :-D
