I think NYC area is at the end of the bell cruve as well for hitting the sweet spot on sampling, there's just too many people and they don't leave things out for self-sampling, they'd probably go through a jar an hour... and any laid-out little samples simply disappear within the quarter-hour.

I've lived in Michigan and visited Texas, retail in both states have been real generous with product introduction.  I was in Texas for work and walked into the mall for a little time out and was smack in the middle of some beauty event.  I left 3 hours later with bags of free stuff - that I didn't even have to ask for.  I was the only Asian there and I think they really wanted to make me feel welcome :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />...  THEY were adorable!

Maybe the next time I'm in Texas, I'll see what's available. I'm Asian too, so I hope they find me adorable as well. Hahaha!

Yes, that's the one I want! Ahhhh! I hope my BI coupon shows up soon.

Update: Called just now & they put $ 5 of credit of my account for me. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

For people who are worried because they didn't get the mailer with the coupon:  I got the email with the code and pin for the $20 off the afternoon of the day the promotion started.  I wouldn't worry about it quite yet, I highly doubt that they will do anything different this year.

Unfortunately this is the same for a lot of the ladies that have gotten banned. It really doesn't make any sense..

my first order on friday shipped today!!
I got my shipping notice on my final order, so there is hope. I am compiling my returns. I am done with Sephora. I may use my discount when it comes though, I'm still warring with myself over it.

I need to know what mall this is lol! I can't really see anyone in Houston batting an eye over seeing an Asian person though since it's such a cultural melting pot here, but generally everyone here is very friendly, minus handfuls of snooty SAs in the fancier department stores like Neiman Marcus.

I may have to curtail my shopping with Sephora anyway....I hit the $1000.00 by fluke.  Once I saw they were doing the VIBR program, I started just buying all of my beauty products there instead of here, there, everywhere.

If this is how they repay customers who GAVE Sephora their business and hard earned money, I really think it is disgusting to say the least.  I am a programmer and I can tell you, they need to get their **** together with their fraud detection software and clean it up.

Yeah, I'm pretty much only in it to shop with discounts and codes at this point, rather than accumulating for fakey rewards. Although back when VIB started there were good perks--did anyone else get the free two full sized Ojon products and the UD sin primer potion back in the day?

Maybe we can have an Asian get together in Texas to go beauty shopping. Haha!

Right? The SiJCP near my old HS has a bunch of stuff on discount every time I pop in, and I've been given deluxe samples without even asking before. There's rarely anyone at that JCP so I guess the ladies working there are just glad to see another living person lol. I'm not a big fan of the cart vendors at one local mall though, I always feel like a lunatic weaving between them with my angry face on but they're always chasing after me and harassing me and it reminds me too much of pushy street vendors in China.

if you tight line  it's perfect!  i use it the traditional way - putting it on my eyelid and closing my eyes then swiping it through and i get a great opaque line each time!  it's very creamy

ALSO - not asian, but I'm moving to TX next month!  I wanna go beauty shopping! haha

Yay my order shipped!  About 90% of it was showing "permanently out of stock" when I checked it yesterday.

I don't think I'm in any danger of being banned, I'm only a lowly BI.  But I do make sure to maximize every order I make with codes, samples, and discounts, which means they have a much slimmer profit margin from me than from any VIB-R.  I truly don't understand why they're 1) banning people, and 2) not doing everything in their power to bend over backwards to fix this issue for their biggest customers.

In fact, I plan on using my $15 BI card, plus a $10 Sephora GC I'm getting with Shopkick points, to get the Naked 3 palette for $25.  And you bet I'm getting 3 samples AND using either the Surprise code or whatever other multi-sample code is available at the time!  Sheesh, they SHOULD ban me...

Ooh which city? If it's close to the coast, get ready for living in a sauna for 11 months out of the year lol. And also get ready for weather that can't make up its mind. Some mornings it's in the 30s but it warms up to the 80s by noon, I've lived here almost all my life and I still have trouble figuring out how to dress on those days lol. Last week it was snowing an hour north of me, this week the temps are in the 80s again, it's ridiculous!

San Antonio!  The weather here in VA can't make up it's mind either, so that part i'm familiar with!  I'm nervous that it's going to be really humid in the summer, which is what i CANNOT stand about here in VA!

San Antonio humidity makes Virginia look like a cool oasis... I was stationed there and I hated every second of my life in that town. Don't get me wrong, there are some fun things to do but it is so damn hot, there are so many fire ants and the tourists are rude. But good luck, I'm sure there are people who love it there. One good result of living there was that I got married on the river walk which was really fun.

Yikes, it's definitely going to be humid, maybe slightly less than Houston. I'm not sure how humid it is in comparison in VA but your hair may have some trouble adjusting. I lived in Dallas for my first year in college and when I came back to Houston my hair threw an absolute fit and would frizz up terribly because it had gotten used to the drier climate. It's still not the same and I've been back 2 years lol.

The riverwalk is always fun to visit, even though I'm always afraid I'm going to fall in because I'm so accident prone lol! Last time I was there, a dog jumped in after a duck and his owner ended up having to jump in after him because the poor thing couldn't get back out of the water.

The company I was visiting was in Irving Texas with the closeset big city being Dallas, I think about 10 miles away.  Though I don't know if the mall I visited was in Dallas proper or somewhere in between.

The Elizabeth Arden gal gave me a full size face cream.  It was like affirmative action with beauty products.  Made up for all the times that men made rude comments.
