Hoozey, I am surprised too about the L-M G (lumi). I don't think L-MW works great either (just saw a photo from yesterday that a friend took.. YIKES! face-neck demarcation!) I may try the L-M G again today just to be sure, though I think you are more golden than me that's why it looks so natural on you. I also noticed that MW is way more golden than LMW.

I am very curious what you think of Meow!

EDIT

Hoozey - I tried LMGolden (Lumi) today and gee... this looks like it works! I was so sure the other day it looked greenish/gray. Maybe I confused it with Lauress'Gold? (one of these Goldens looked green) I think I really like this Luminesse..., the LM Golden looks like the perfect shade for now. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I got my Meow order today and I have to say those jars are HUGE! "Tub size" is very accurate and I can't imagine them not lasting for at least a year or year and a half. Although it seems expensive up front, it's a tremendous value. I can't wait to start mixing up my Lynx mix tomorrow!!

ruby: great to hear you got your meow! sheesh, i'm having "why didn't i buy before friday midnight remorse". typically, i just go for it. but i was trying to exercise some restraint. (what a lousy time to exercise restraint!) so now, i'm gonna wait on my samples, and hope i'll be able to confirm my formula and colors.

btw, did you see the gal at meow forums that mixed 50/50 chatreux and abysin? that's interesting! since chatreux has so much peach, i can see how that might work as a base. either way...anxious to get my samples, and hope meow's not shut down too long!

Hey Pebo! I admit I was a little bummed that I ordered before the sale, but who knew?! I am proud of you for showing restraint-it would suck to pay all that $ for colors/formulas that don't work for you. What samples did you order? I may get a f/s blush in the sale, but don't know yet. I did see that post at Meow's forum, but she didn't say what depths she mixed. Hopefully she'll post that info later.

I wear EDM Fairly Light Warm, Lumiere Light Warm, can I get a rec for Meow's foundation?

Silveria, have you looked at Meow's website yet? I am not familiar w/the colors that you are currently wearing but I'll look and see if I can help you! Well I just looked at Meow and Mau is the warm breed . I would probably suggest you try Sleek and Frisky Mau and maybe throw in a Naughty just for the heck of it to be sure. Hope this helps!

lilita: well, my 'restraint' is QUICKLY fading into nothingness...lol i keep thinking that i want to get my order in, so when they're up and running again, i'll get my stuff. i figure i'm probably looking at a couple weeks downtime as it stands..soooo.....i know i like the lynx mix in pampered puss..but haven't tried the ff formula. do you think you could give me a little compare/contrast on meow's ff compared to pp, and lumiere vv, etc? i wanna order, but don't have my ff samples yet to know re: the coverage etc...

i must say, i think all in all, i love lumiere's lm golden in vv the best...with the lynx mix as a close second. i'm just hoping my skin will tolerate vv better the 2nd time around, and i also don't want to be redundant on coverage b/t vv and meow's ff.

let's face it, i'm gonna cave and order before i get my samples..it's hopeless!

i'm also contemplating milan, but am gonna wait to hear what you girls think. i'm also wondering re: the ingredients of the foundation. the site was a bit difficult to decipher. i may email candace if you girls love it.

keep goin gals.... :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Pebo-

They say they will be shipping out the orders made before the "close". You are in the ideal position actually. You can wait for the samples to figure out which formula you like best (try the 1/2 face so you can try a couple at once) and then order and you'll still probably get in on time to save. That's what I am hoping for since I ordered samples and got all the foundations in the lynx mix so I could pick formula too.

Lilita-

Lumiesse is really a great summer color in L-M G because it's darker but still golden and not olive. Only wish it was more coverage for me because I need more in the summer than winter when the spots fade some.

I could see one of the darker Lauress Elementals being "greenish" - what is it soft gold? Pure gold was really yellowy dark.

You need to make a makeup diary. Colors worn, thoughts throughout the day on performance. :kopfkratz: It's so much easier when you stay one color and just put your foundation on and forget it. Of course I love that you are trying all these different MMU's and posting your thoughts. Then when you rave it carries so much weight as compared to those that push one brand because they haven't tried it all. It's almost scientific when you report on a makeup IMO.

Ruby-

We'll see how long hold out on Meowing it up during the sale time! :rotfl:

Hi pebo, I use purrfect puss, haven't use pampered puss and have only tried flawless feline a couple of times, so I'm not really qualified to compare them. Maybe someone else could tell you...?

Did you order samples of all three formulas? I think this is the best way to know which is best for you. What feels right on my skin may not feel right on yours. I like purrfect puss (the sheerest formula) because I like that I can control the amount of coverage by using less/more layers, depending on my mood. Flawless feline is Meow's "heaviest coverage" formula.

Hi Hoozey - Yes I think it was Lauress' Soft gold (elemental) that was greenish... or should I say "olive-ish". I had been out in the hot sun all day and I remember looking in the mirror and freaking out. Because my face was all reddish from the sun, the makeup really showed up in contrast. On the other hand I am loving Luminesse LMG today. I hear you about the coverage. I had to do about 3 (dry) layers, which is more than normal for me.

Re: makeup diary.. I try to take a photo every morning and label it with what products I am wearing. But of course I am not going to share all of these pics on a public forum. You ladies only get to see the "better" ones :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

hoozey..

thanks for the encouragement. okay, i will stay the course. i will wait to my samples arrive and do the systematic thing. (sigh..bummer being a 'responsible adult' sometimes..LOL) i did see a thread where somebody suggested mixing chatreux w/ angora. i may give that a whirl, too!

lilita..

i agree with hoozey...it IS almost like a scientific thing when you report makeup! you give great reviews, insights and intangibles re: the makeup that makes decision making so much easier. (well, plus i tend to just buy whatever you love! ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> )

ruby...

i think i own any and all samples of frisky/naughty in all yellowish/peachish/beige-ish colors. basically, everything! btw, don't feel bad about missing the sale...just think, you get to be the 'cats meow' in your lynx mix, while i'm still walking around with '1/2 my face in monave, and 1/2 my face in lauress'. this roadtesting ain't always very pretty! lol

enjoy your full sizes you lucky girl! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

and be sure to keep us posted on meow and any 'new purchases' or discoveries! :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

lilita!

keep those fotd coming! love seeing your makeup! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I mixed Siamese with Chausie and I think it looks better than the Siamese by itself. One 1/2 side of my face was Siamese and 1/2 was Chausie.

Thanks Lilita, I don't think I would ever have thought to mix 2 together. I think the Chausie perks up the Siamese and brightens it up.

Ladies, I will comment on your posts later, because my little boy just came from the ER because of bad diarrhea, I am so emotionally and physically tired. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> Anyways, my Meow samples arrived Thursday, and I tried FF Chartreux Frisky for the first layer and Chartreux Naughty for the 2nd, and let me say I am impressed with the staying power! It was already 5 pm and the coverage and finish were still flawless as I made my way home from work. As to the color, though, it was a little off, but better than the Abyssinian.

My little boy had bad bouts of diarrhea the whole night last night and this morning, so I brought him to the ER. I just slapped on FF Abyssinian Naughty, and sad to say the color is wrong. I'd say wrong depth and color, which is weird because it's supposed to be yellow-based but still wrong for yellow-toned me. Am I doing something wrong? I feel sampling Meow is too tedious for me because I really loathe mixing and matching. But I really love the finish (which is matte, but not powdery or flat) and the staying power.

Oh I am so sorry to hear that! I do hope he is feeling better. Maybe you will both be able to rest tonight.

Sorry to hear you son was sick. When my youngest was about 3 he had to be in the hospital overnight because his lymph nodes swelled. Had to have them drained and they removed for biospy. Some sort of infection but couldn't pin point it. I remember the car ride home being totally exhausted- like I'd been in a boxing match. My body was physically feeling beat up. Take care of yourself and your boy and hope he is better soon. :ill: to

Hi,

I'm wearing light-medium beige in the Lumiere vv. Can anyone recommend a shade in the Meow?

Thanks,

Alyssa

Is your little boy better now Periwinkle? I hope so. I saw a pic of him and he's so cute.

I'm sick of mixing for foundations too. I'm glad that you said it. So it looks like even though I'll get a giant size I'll have to get 2 giant sizes to have a match.

Is it worth all of that? If yes than I'll go for it but I'm depending on you ladies to work all of this out for me. Please hurry cause I'm running low on foundation. I'm good to go for another 29 years on shadows, blushes, aofc, but so very low on foundations.

periwinkle - sorry to hear about your little boy! I hope he is feeling better and you are catching up on rest.

Re: Meow, Abyssinian didn't work on me either. I think the yellow is more olivey-beigey or something. Did you try Angora? I think this is a better yellow...

Periwinkle, so sorry to hear about your son. I hope that he is feeling better today and able to keep some food in his little body. It is so hard when our kids are sick! Straight Abyssinian didn't work for me either, but someone suggested mixing that w/Chartreux (another Asian woman) and she loves it (both naughties). I am sticking w/the Lynx Mix as it is really wonderful. Enough yellow w/some peach so I don't look sick. And I love the FF too as I need a little more coverage. I agree w/you on the finish and staying power. I think Meow just went to the head of the line for me. And the full size jars are really huge, I couldn't believe my eyes!

Hoozey I am really interested in hearing your reviews of Meow too once you receive them. Did you order all 3 formulas? Did you try the Cat Glow too-I like it! So far I haven't bought a thing during the sale either!

Pebo-I am not too terribly upset that I got my full size jars yesterday (smile), but it's always nice to save a little $ here and there to put toward future purchases. I hope that you can figure out that Monave dilemna-and please keep us posted on your Meow mixing experiences too.

Lilita-I've only tried the FF formula and even though it's their full coverage it is still light and airy. I probably should have ordered samples of the other formulas just for comparisons sake. I mixed up a small jar of Lynx mix this am-had my measuring spoons, wax paper and everything. And actually it was kinda fun, like baking, which I love to do!
