We've been in this house for less than 2 years but part of the reason we bought it was because the basement was 5 stud-walls only rooms and concrete floor (the bathroom down there was already done- builder also owns tile/countertop/cabinet stores.) This is the third basement we've drywalled and plan to do tile in. It's taking longer than my hubby thought so the tiling may wait 'til next fall/winter since he has some outdoor projects he wants to work on- swing and horseshoe pits.

I think your MMU addiction is justifiable since you have been dealing with remodel for 2 1/2 years. At least with the basement I'm only down there when exercising inside or getting stuff out of the freezer down there. I couldn't imagine my upstairs being in that state of chaos!!

I am excited to try Meow, especially since I just found such a great match in Milan. Be nice to compare it to.

Hi Hoozey! Long time no talk. I know exactly what you mean about renovations and all of the work that goes into a new home. I just recently moved myself and while I am loving my new home there is no end to what needs to be done.

Glad to finally have my internet back up. Can you believe it took 3 weeks for me to get an appointment and that was with advance request?

Hi Peri! How's it going. I've tried Meow's blushes, shadows, and their signature line of Wildcats colors.

Trust me! With their new sale on get in on several of their colors. I especially love their Bad Girls shadows and their liners are the best for lining and contouring the eyes. Meow is the best. I actually love them more than Lumiere.

Since you're a Monave and Val's gal you'll definitely love Meow.

Good to see you back Newyorlatin! How you feelin', Girl? 3 weeks is a long time for internet, but I remember it took several weeks to get cable here because it was about the time all the college kids were coming back and they were busy. Then they needed to bring another box (DVR kind) to work with the big TV and so it took even longer because they had to reschedule for that one. I was too busy to watch TV then so it wasn't so bad but I'd be going crazy without my MuT and MMU fixes.

Thank you Hoozey. I'm still on bedrest so not back out to work yet but I'm getting married next month in Aruba and have a ton of work now here to keep me busy!

Meow sales are always something that I keep my eyes open for. Love their shadows, blushes, and foundation. I had never tried their FF until I heard about you ladies' comments on it and now forget about it I'm all sold on it.

Can you believe that I missed (almost the Lauress sales)? Fortunately Gvieve bought some for me and boy is that great stuff?

As for the Luminesse. Hoozey, I don't like it at all. I'd still vote VV or FF as my favorites with Lumiere.

It's good being "connected" again.

#1 Congrats on the Aruba wedding. My mom is heading that way this month with my brother's family.

So do you love Meow? I haven't gotten my samples yet but just tried the Milan colors and am loving that. It looks so natural. I am hoping that I get samples before the sale ends so I can cash in on the savings. I have so much MMU since finding MuT. Just can't stop trying them. :rotfl:

I agree with you about Lumi- I still prefer FF although I liked the extra color (it be my perfect summer color) that the Lumi had but not the coverage.

Oh Hoozey yes I LOVE MEOW! I had tried their Perfect Puss either last year or the year before. Anyway I really liked it but it made me itch. Not like BE but still. Was a shame too cause it stood out in my mind.

Then G came by one day and had a lot of samples for me from Lauress, Milan, and Meow. Girl! The Lauress was excellent. I really love the Elemental finish especially say for summer. The Meow was forget about it. This is the one for fall and winter. She had Flawless Feline in too many colors. I did have to mix 2 shades to get a match but the amount that you get for a foundation is no comparison with anyone else.

Let me tell you. MUT is like my soaps OK. I used to work full time south of center city Atlanta but we've got liberty and let's say that we keep up on our "shows" while working. I'd be working while surfing the web and MUT and working YKWIM? :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

The past few weeks I've missed MUT and chatting with you ladies more than I have my shows. Trust and believe that says a lot :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

What about you did you love Lauress? NM. You did but it was too light, right? You will like Milan and Meow FF I think especially since you loved Lumiere's FF.

Hoozey. The Lumiere Luminess looks grey on me. Not just 1 shade but 2 of them. What's up with that?

NY-

I loved the feel of elemental but it was a little too sheer for me. I have this hyperpigmentation on my forehead (bad enough that my hubby once told me I needed to "smear my makeup in" and I wasn't wearing any) which actually gets worse in the summer- any sun makes it darker. It took too many layers to get the coverage I needed with elemental--- I'm kind of lazy when it comes to foundation- dry, fling it on and then spend lots of time on the e/s and making my brows even- don't even get me started on that one.

I found the old formula better coverage but it didn't feel like elemental. I still liked the look of Lumiere FF a bit more too. Milan is rocking because it was two light layers and done. It feels/looks like skin (only all my flaws are blurred away.)

I ordered several colors of Meow and some in all three formulas so I would know if I liked them. Which formula made you itch because BE made me itch after years of wearing! That's why I got all three to try because the one is for more sensitive skin.

Hi hoozey, I noticed too that a little bit goes a long way with Milan. (Now I know that I applied way too much the first time which is why my face felt so thick and dry.) Don't you love the instant coverage?

This is going to be a sample-crazy week. All these arrived today: Meow Chartreux samples, Lumiere FF samples, more Luminesse colors, some Lumi Lips & Squalane (can't wait to try this), my GoW order, and I have a feeling that my Lauress "yellow" samples & Milan colors will be here very very soon.

Sometimes I wish I had 3 heads :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

If you had 3 heads, would you still do the 1/2 face thing and make you BF pick the best out of the 6?

I love the instant coverage with Milan. Especially since it doesn't look like heavy coverage if you use the tiny amounts. I mean, I literally used a spot the size of this smiley above for my first layer. Then scooped out about the same amount, did some concealing with the concealer brush and then used the leftovers for a final sweep and D-O-N-E with foundation. Kiana is so close to L-M Golden in Lumiere I am so jazzed! The nice part about it is that you can do a little wet concealing- I find Lumiere FF almost impossible to use wet. It just doesn't mix with water.

Hi Hoozey, The Perfect Puss is the Meow version that made me itch and it made G. itch too worse than me. But many people don't have a problem with it at all.

The FF in Meow is excellent and hands down my favorite foundation so far. It just lasts all day and I don't feel like I have anything on at all. One layer and I'm done. Then again I love Lauress' foundation too. Too bad it's so pricey when their are so many others out here that are lower priced YKWIM?

I know that part of my attraction for Lumiere is the price but then again, if you find something special- it's just worth it. I really only splurge on a couple of things, good makeup, good bras and good running shoes. The makeup and bras are the same... they make everything else you wear look better. :rotfl:

The running shoes because I have flat feet and I am a "reluctant runner" anyway (do it or I'd be the size of a house) so I can't have my feet hurting- I don't care what they look like though.

If you liked FF, have you tried Pamp. P? It's supposed to be for sensitive skin. I am really anxious to "feel" Meow.

Talk about confused. All these cat names. Yes. Gvieve gave me samples of Pampered Puss several weeks ago with some Milan items and Lauress samples. She also gave Flawless Puss samples which turned out to really be something I will be using for winter and late fall and most likely reaching for forever! It is that good. You only need a very little and thing is, it stays looking the same all day long!

OK. You got me I ordered both lines of PP and FF in the same colors same full sizes for myself but ordered an extra PP and FF of Frisky Angora so that my friend can use that to mix into the PP and FF of the Chartreux that I ordered for her as a surprise.

Going to PM you on something so check your PM's :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I ordered so much foundation from Meow everytime I go back and check my receipt I get more confused on what I ordered what and who for.

I was applying some of my Meow FF samples last night just to make sure I have all my bases covered and I was really surprised when I applied my Ocicat sample. On the website its described as having a greenish/yellow/beige undertone and for those having Italian or ethnic descent. Since I am Italian I ordered it but never tried it since I have been mostly using neutral shades.

Well I was pleasantly surprised because the Ocicat for me anyways really covers up the red acne scars and any freckles or brown spots quite well, even with a small amount. It must be the green in it that covers the red. And it matches too. I may order this as a concealor and/or an additional foundation I like it that much. :rockwoot:

So if anyone happened to order Ocicat, and put it aside I recommend giving it a try. Or maybe ordering samples if you fit in this category.

Got Meow shipping statement that it will post tomorrow for my samples. I am just hoping that I get them before the sale ends- so I can order what wows me.

Gina-

I tried some of the other colors besides the "Lynx" mix. I got some Korat and some Ab. Can't wait to get them.

Lilita, you seem to know alot about Meow, so I would like your opinion if you don't mind...I'm contemplating ordering the foundations, what would you reccomend for Asian skintones a little lighter than you, but not much lighter.

I've been wearing Lumiere's VV in Light Warm...pretty good match. I was using the Light Neutral, but it looked really ghostly on me.

Should I go with the Abyssinian or Angora..the Angora looks pretty yellow in the descriptions on the site....

thanks for your help in advance...:kopfkratz:

Hoozey, I'm so happy you said that!! I've been using Lumiere VV and happened one day to get brave and do the "wet" thing. OMG, you wouldn't believe how cakey my mu looked, it was ridiculous. I couldn't even blend it, it just like stayed there in one place or wherever I touched first with the kabuki. Anyways, I was starting to think I was an idiot for not being able to use the mmu wet, but with you saying that too...I guess I'm not such a big idiot after all....THANKS!!:rockwoot:

Not only is it hard to apply to the face wet, I have a hard time applying it to the card stock when I am doing a Lilita chart! :rotfl: Honestly, I prefer dry because it is easier- I am kind of lazy about foundation application. I need the extra time to fix my eye brows so they aren't so uneven.

Hoozey, ditto about the lazy/foundation. I started using MMU to save time applying my mu as well as looking natural and all that other good stuff regarding MMU. The funny thing is, and I'm ashamed to admit this, but I've never spent so much time applying my mu before. First primer, concealer, foundation, finishing veil...not too mention the e/s, eyebrows, mascara and all the other crap...it's been taking me forever lately. All I want to do is put on more stuff...it's craziness. In the beginning, I loved the quick process of dipping, swirling, tapping and voila...presto, instant flawless natural looking skin. Honestly, I don't know where I went wrong...:kopfkratz:
