Pebo-

I wouldn't use Med. Golden FF- it is quite yellow/olive. That's why Lilita and I recommend beige and warm. Beige has yellow peach tones (hmmm I wonder why Lilita likes that one? LOL) and the Warm seems to be yellow/brown-- I don't have the eye for foundation deconstruction like she does. I just know that the Med. Warm looks like my tan not like I am jaundiced as in Med. Golden. The Luminesse is darker- see my b/a sticky (near the last page now) in it and VV side by side... I should probably do FF so the trio is right there. The Lumi makes me look wonderfully tan but the VV is more my winter color. I am just starting to get tan and just dust a little warm on after L-M G.

Mindy-

I will definitely review Meow and let you know.

Hoozey did you already use Medium Beige in FF Lumiere? If so is that the best color match for you so far. Also, would you mention please what colors you ordered in Meow? TIA

I have never tried Med. Beige in any of the Lumiere bases. My best winter color is L-M Golden in FF. Summer is probably a mix of that and either Med. Warm or Med. Deep Warm. I know Lilita has said that she liked one of the Beiges as more color/warmer than the warm in that shade.

I haven't ordered any Meow yet but I am guessing I'd be in the "Lynx" color- which are two colors Lilita mixes together. Some cat names- just kidding- they are all cat names. Frisky and naughty little kitties. Check out the recent posts by Pebo, Ruby and Lilita for the meow colors. Then I might order the next shade darker than the two mentioned for you if you are a Lumiere medium and Lilita is L-M Golden in VV.

Thank you Hoozey. I'm getting more and more confused. I need to get paper and pencil and write down these names and colors because I thought that I had it.

No I am a LM in Lumiere and now I'm not sure if it is golden, warm, or beige. It used to be golden but now it doesn't look so hot.

They have a sample only shipping rate, and if you order 30 or more it is free.

If you are a L-M golden then it sounds like Lilita's mix of the two colors are a good choice. You can order both and work on the exact combination I think if you are any of those Lumiere colors you can get away with some mix of the two colors.

Ruby-

I broke down and ordered Meow samples. I got the Lynx mix colors in all the different versions because I want to definitely know which one is for me. I also got some Naughty Abys. and some Korat colors too since I am not so L-M Golden anymore. I ended up getting 13 samples in just foundation bases/colors. I want that super light feel but like I said, I also want coverage. How are you applying yours? Wet/dry type of brush Thanks! I am joining the kitty club too I guess. Naught, frisky, crazy:vogel: --- that's the cat I am! BTW- I had to come back to this post several times because I couldn't remember the mix colors. Then I just wrote down the initials and had to return because there are two A's- Angora and Abys. Good luck at the dentist btw

Hoozey, can't wait to hear your reviews too! I hope that you like it as much as Lilita and I do. I use my flat top w/all of my foundations-do the first layer wet and then the second dry. Korat looked kind of olive-y to me and the Abyssinian is yellow w/some brown in it. You might like that one since you're getting darker now. I am just now remembering which colors are which w/out having to look at anything. Did you get anything else beside foundation samples? Thanks for the good wishes re: the dentist.

hoozey: thanks for the info on the lumiere colors. i really like l/m golden in the vv. but i can't use that forumula. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> so...i'm waiting on my luminesse samples, to see how it pans out. the ff in lm golden was waay too light. i'll have to take a peak at the beiges (as i'm a peachy girl like lilita! ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> )

i know what you mean about the 'cat names', it drove me batty in the beginning. i'm starting to get used to it, and now just focus on 'frisky and naughty', and try and tune out the rest..for fear i'll be totally confused!

lilita: in fact, i'm wearing the lynx mix today on one side of my face, and lauress' radian gold on the other. ( i definitely see the pinkish something in the radiant gold) i loved the feeling of the lauress going on the face..but alas...LYNX MIX PREVAILS! i just love the way it looks so natural and the color is perky and natural, too. i may tweak around the percentages...i thought i saw a 70/30 being tossed around?? i may also try soft gold..

i ordered the ff and purfect puss, just to see which formula i end up liking the best. i know the owners at meow are in transition, but i hope they consider our suggestion seriously. that would be soooooooo fantastic!

ruby??? was that you? 70 n angor 30 f persian? or did i read something about a 3rd color? f angora?? i'd love to hear what ratios worked for you in the end.

btw, how'd the 'all angora' look go?? curious to hear about that one, too.

well, at the end of the day...meow seems to be sitting atop the heap! :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> go lynx mix!

Thanks Ruby2....I have no idea what I'm doing so I hope it works out,And yes,I really do like the Flawless Feline.

Quick hello this am before I run off to the dentist! Pebo, glad that you having fun and liking the Meow too. Lilita actually mentioned the 70/30 mix, but I just tried the 60/40 and love that, so that is what I am sticking with. I did try N Angora solo and was surprised that I didn't look ill b/c it looks so yellow on it's own. It didn't look bad, but I prefer having some peach in there to tone down the yellow. I will keep my fingers crossed that the Big Cats will listen to us in the end! Farris2, keep playing and you'll figure it out!

Ruby-

When I was looking at Meow I was trying to think more in terms of summer color because I'd be going insane if I loved the coverage/feel and didn't have the right color to wear immediately. Lumiere FF L-M golden is too light already IMO, so I've been either doing M-W or a mix at least. It's not changing colors on me like with Lilita- she seems to have more peach whereas I think I am more gold/tan undertones now- it's just too light.

Pebo- The Luminesse is darker than FF or VV-- I'd say it is close to the Med. Warm FF only more brown gold- maybe even a step and half. In the B/A sticky I did a swatch with Lauress R G and Summer Tan and Lumiere's FF in LMG- MW- MDW along with the Lilita chart - taped right next to my arm- which was applied wet and intense to give more color/undertone information. I believe the SG was a bit more yellow and darker so that may be a winner for you. Do you like Meow or Lauress Elemental better?

Hoozey, that definitely makes sense to get your summer colors figured out now. I can still wear my Lumiere L-M Gold, as I've gotten no sun b/c it's been too darn cold here! Hope you like your Meow.

ruby: good luck at the dentist! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

hoozey, thanks for the info re: the colors. ya know,i REALLY liked vv lm golden. it was grail worthy for me, from the get go. it wore so well. i'm waiting on my lumienesse. we'll see.

between the meow and lauress...hmm, i loved the feel of lauress going on, but i preferred the color of meow's lynx mix. they're both pretty close, but i'd probably go with meow, just because it seemed to meld into my skin more naturally. now that being said, it could have been because of the color issues w/ lauress. i'm going to try the soft gold today, and see what happens. i'm not sure i want something darker, so maybe even subtle gold would have been better. wouldn'tchya know it, i DIDN'T order subtle gold..argh!

either way, i'm anxious to try ff formula of lynx mix, so i can finally order full sizes. i need to decide on which formula i prefer. also going to try purfect puss to be sure. i hope meow's move to a new facility, won't slow down shipping too much...it's the 'instant gratification bug' that's getting me now! lol

onward, ho!

Pebo, thanks! Dentist went well, but my jaw hurts from the cleaning. Interesting to hear your comparison betw. Meow and Lauress. Maybe the SG will work better for you if you get a tinge of pink w/RG. What formula of Meow did you try? Original? (I'm still having trouble between the two PP's!). I got the FF and love it. My full sizes should be here soon, I hope! At least before we leave for Easter break next week. Have a good weekend!

hey ruby!

i've been using 'pampered puss'. but i wanted to try 'purfect puss and flawless feline'. i'm dying to get full sizes, but wanna be sure on formula before committing.

i was really surprised to find hyeyeon to be a bit orangey on me. it looked kinda orangey in the container, too. hmm..i wonder if it was possible that they put the wrong color in the container? i wanna retry this, too.

i'm also gonna retry lauress. soft, subtle.. i dunno...gotta check it out.

hey litlita: what makeup are you playing with? :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

have a good weekend!

hehe. I am wearing something different everyday... Today it's Luminesse and I think "LM Warm" is a better match than "LM Golden"(<--makes me look green). I really love how both Lumiere's formulas (VV & Lumi) are so great with pores, and I feel no need to apply wet which saves so much time. Can't wait for FF samples to arrive!

Tonight I am going out, so will put on new face of M/U (haha any excuse!) and try Milan again.

The downside to all this flip-flopping around between brands is that something is making me break out and I don't know which one it is. (I haven't had a zit on my forehead since I was 16!)

Pebo, I am surprised that hyeyeon is looking orangey on you and in the container. Was it just a sample? I would email them and let them know and ask if they could please send another. I once got a sample of golden fair from EDM to mix w/Light winged butter and it didn't look right at all and it turns out it was labeled wrong. Can't hurt to ask! I don't blame you for waiting on full sizes till you're sure-it's alot of $. Have fun playing w/your Lauress colors too. Lilita, have a great time tonight! I can't remember the last time I went out on a Friday! Hope you can figure out the culprit on your forehead, but I know you will be beautiful in your Milan.

lilita: milan? uh oh.. a 'new contestant in the mmu battle'. heehee pls keep us posted on how it goes for you! i know what you mean about flip flopping w/ different products, it really throws a monkey wrench in the 'controlled experimentation'. :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

hmmm...l/m warm in luminesse, eh? well, i have lm golden on it's way to me, so we'll see how that goes. i so loved the vv lm golden... but it sounds like there's quite a bit of variation b/t formulas on the same colors..oui! why can't it be simple, ya know? my guess if lm golden luminesse looks greenish on you, it'll look greenish on me, too. the upside w/ lumiere, is that the shipping is figured into the prices of the products. i like that! it's hard to justify $3.00 worth of samples with $4.50 for shipping, ya know?

ruby: thanks for the suggestion re: monave's hyeyeon. i think i will email them and request a replacement. i just couldn't figure it out, it looked so orangey!

have a great weekend, ladies... :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Lilita

I am surprised the L-M Golden Lumi made you look green since that was the one that made me look so tan. MMU is strange. I am rather liking just M-W FF right now. It seems to work with my color and doesn't look so light like L-M G FF. I did the Lauress Elemental yesterday and though the feel is nice I have to do over 3 layers to cover my spots. I find that wet application is not for me so I have to do multiple layers dry. FF I am 2 layers max and that is usually just the trouble areas.

Pebo-

I agree that sampling is no fun when you have to pay more for shipping than the samples. One thing I didn't like about Monave is that not only do you pay shipping but they charge the extra $2 for handling too. That gets expensive. I would rather get baggies for less than jars for way more. I don't mind baggies so much for foundation because I use a baby spoon to scoop a little out into this little bowl and swirl there. (It keeps my brush from getting the bristles broken off from the edge of the lid.) The other thing I love about the bowl- the makeup doesn't build up on the bowl's surface like it does on the lid--- you know how after a while there's a layer of MMU applied to the lid? I feel like nothing is wasted.

I guess I am glad I ordered Meow when I did so I will get my samples before the closing- if I fall in love, the maybe by that time they will be back up and running.
