Woohoo!! I also made it through the day. Since I slipped yesterday though, tomorrow is only day 2.

Ditto.

Kinda! I hit pan on another item, and slowly but surely I'm getting closer to finishing up two lipsticks that I've had for ages, as well as my orgasm blush.

Ok, weird revelation today. I'm actually feeling "sampled out". I LOVE my Birchbox, don't get me wrong (and I do have another couple of subs)....but I'm not going nuts and feeling like I need to sign up with every new sub in the hopes that it will be awesome (which is how I felt just a few weeks ago). I guess it was the Glossybox thread that got me started thinking about this. Yes, the Glossyboxes from other countries have been awesome....but didn't someone say that the name is actually kinda franchised? Therefore, when it does launch in America (and I DO plan on subbing, don't get me wrong), will we be treated to "more of the same old, same old"?

While I was talking to a friend of mine today, I mentioned how some of the gals here get frustrated when the same items show up in multiple subscription boxes. Totally understandable, but I also figure that the beauty companies aren't really thinking in terms of people who subscribe to multiple services (or, perhaps it's like the old AOL discs--carpet the earth and you'll get some customers). And, yeah, it does seem that the more sub companies that launch, either we're going to see a lot more repeats, or we're going to see a significant drop in quality, simply because (as has been discussed) a lot of the bigger brands don't need the word of mouth and a lot of the smaller ones don't find it a cost-effective marketing technique.

Again, not changing my mind on which ones to keep and which ones to chuck...but also surprised at how uninterested I am in some of the newer ones. I guess that's what being CONSCIOUS of my spending is doing...making me re-evaluate EVERYthing.

I only have 2 subs, but every time I read a thread about a new sub I am ALWAYS tempted to join it. Glossybox definitely caught my attention as well... I'm thinking maybe I should hold off and wait till there's more feedback on the US products. Hopefully, I won't be so tempted. I was reading the "gogogirlfriend complaints" and the thread title itself steered me clear of subbing

I am feeling the EXACT same way. I opened all the drawers and cabinets in my bathroom and saw everything that I have, I actually felt disgust and shame when I saw how much stuff I have. These feelings were reinforced when I took a look at my bank statements over the past 6 months. I'm only going to keep Birchbox and Stylemint (since you can skip every month if you want).  Gah.

I don't feel ashamed. I do, however, feel that I'm not doing myself any favors by continuing to accrue stuff that I'm not using. I bought one of those goofy 30-day makeover kind of books...Day 1: Clean out your makeup. GEEEE.....I sit here lemming over various things that I may already HAVE (yeah, even in the skin care arena). So my goal for tonight/tomorrow is to get that handled. Let's see when I actually come up for air! (Organizing my nail polish is waiting on my fans. But I've also forbidden myself to buy any more nail polish until my fans finally flippin' arrive and are sorted out).

Do you guys find it hard to toss away your makeup?

I've accumulated a ton of stuff and I have such a hard time tossing things. I feel like I wasted money, especially because most things are hardly used. I'm really trying to stray away from buying more makeup and invest in buying more makeup tools.

I hate to throw it away, but I have NO problems giving it away.

I can admit I went a little nuts over the past year, and now I'm trying to pare things down. That's one reason I'm kinda making a list of "must haves" (including tools) and doing less experimenting.

I've made a goal to use up at least 1 makeup product a month. We'll see how that goes. I'll probably end up focusing on things that are older and already have a bit of mileage on them. I also need to sit down tomorrow and go through and organize everything I have since I don't have class.

And those goofy books are the best! I actually tripped yesterday, and while I was on the floor by the bookcase, the book It's All Too Much by Peter Walsh caught my eye. My mom bought this for me ages ago, and I've only flipped through it. A sign from the universe that I need to sit down and give it a good read through?

I feel similar. I canceled MyGlam without blinking an eye, will cancel my second birchbox once they get back to me on how they are going to solve my broken lipstain, canceling my second beauty army, once it gets here I'm canceling bb5 and blissmobox.

I think I took a step back and realized this was all really unnecessary. I have enough skincare products to last me a year right now, I have 4 bottles of perfume, I have plenty of make up. I feel like I'm getting my grounding/reasonableness back when I really think about this.

The Zoya Buy 3, Get 3 promo is sooo tempting...but I know I won't end up doing it. I need more nail polish like I need a hole in my head. I do need to find better ways to organize what I have, though. I don't have some crazy huge makeup collection, but I have been outgrowing my makeup bag and nail polish bag lately. Looks like I need to use up what I have.

Well, four perfumes isn't necessarily silly. But I'm proud of you. Seems like we are both getting into the spirit of this no buy now, when at first we were the loophole girls :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

hahha for sure! Seeing as until the last six months I used the same perfume every day, 4 seems like a lot! but yes, this no buy is getting easier! Canceling is not hard for me any more. Not only am I out of space, the money could be better spent. Plus with spring, my softball league is starting next week so hopefully I'll be more entertained.

4 isn't very much! I have about 10, I think. Some are minis or the smaller sizes, but still! Even those take a long time to get through. I'm glad that everyone is really getting into the no-buy! I know a lot of us had discussed getting one item a month, but I don't even want to do that any more. I just want to do this whole thing right.

I think I'm going to start using up samples. I have a big box full of them just sitting there, waiting for me to do something. I just got kerastase elixir this month from BB so I'm going to try it today since I haven't washed my hair in a couple days.

But maybe not packets, since those would be great for travel.

It has been easier for me to resist temptation to want to buy makeup, nail polish, or even perfumes. 4 perfumes is nothing. It might take a while to finish them but it's a decent selection to change it up a bit. I have way more than 4 perfumes it's a little overwhelming most of them were gifted to me because they weren't other peoples scents. Some of them are minis. I've actually made some dents in them...but I still have a long way to go. I'm proud to say I've made some dents in my eye shadows. If I keep this up until the end up April...I'm sure I'll have some empties. The end of April is my birthday so I figured I should be able to treat myself to something. I might continue this no-buy until I make some serious dents in everything to where it's more manageable.

Okay I really need to join this group now. After doing so well in February (I think I must have spent a total of $30 shopping), I've now bought a dress from Gilt, 2 dresses from ModCloth, the buy 3 get 3 free promotion from Zoya, the Dermstore $25 off $50 promotion and now the Beauty Bar $15 + $15 off $50 deal. I kept saying these were birthday presents to myself, but I really need to stop. It's all these coupons and crazy deals!

Welcome to the group mishtastic! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

How is everyone holding up? It's been about a week since I last purchased something. I want to put that Dermstore coupon to use, but I'm going to wait until the very last minute. Hopefully I'll be able to clear out more of my stash before then!

I've been doing good since sunday. Waiting for my final boxes to arrive so I can cancel (most) subs.
