So I have been following this thread for awhile and I just wanted to post about the samples that were waiting for me in my mail box today! I haven't been e-mailing a ton of companies or anything, but I was very interested in trying some Hourglass foundation. I got a sample in a Sephora order not too long ago and wanted to try it, but it was too dark for me. So I wrote to them letting them know my skin concerns and someone got back to me a few days later saying they could send me samples, they just needed to know what shades I might be. I didn't know if they would actually send them since I didn't hear anything back, but they did!! I am so impressed!





If their foundation is as good as I've heard it is, then I guess I will be splurging!

Just wanted to let you all know...sometimes brands that you think won't send samples actually do!

Those Hourglass samples are good sized!  I've received samples from brands I'm surprised about too. 

 
I received some samples today that I didn't think I was going to receive.  I received shampoo and conditioner from Klorane.  I had emailed them probably a month ago, and never heard back.  Today there was a little package from them.  The other one I received today that I didn't was going to be sent was 12 Benefits Instant Healthy Hair Treatment.  Its a really cute 1.7 ounce hot pink spray bottle. 

 
I emailed Jane Iredale on Saturday. Got a response back the same day. She asked me to take the quiz and give her the results. I wasnt sure if I would be a medium or medium dark. Well I ALREADY got my sample package from them. She sent both shades, a powder and two lipstick samples I mentioned. I cannot believe the quickness and great customer service! I hope I like the products-I can't wait to try them!

I asked Jane Iredale specifically about skincare samples and lipsticks last Sunday. It's been 8 days and no response. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Try again. I wrote a very honest, detailed (yet to the point) email and got no response. I tried again about a month later (only this time I was pretty short and seemed less interested) and got a reply in 30 minutes. 

 
Yes, I would try again. I literally got an email so quickly and the fact that she sent it the same day is awesome. I haven't even gotten my ipsy bag yet lol

 
And they ship with a tracking #!

 I think sometimes certain reps delete our emails... and you may have gotten a bad rep the first time.

What!? No, I just emailed and asked for samples and they emailed back and asked about my skin type and asked for my address again. Did you even say anything about a blog? EDIT: I clearly can't read., I see that her email says you sent your link. Sorry.

The page had a questionnaire that asks age range and what your hair concerns are.  I answered 35 -50 age range, and since its a volume enhancing shampoo and conditioner, I checked all the boxes that had "volume" as an option.

Mine said that too and I kept changing me answers until it went through.
 
I joined the Allure Beauty Enthusiast panel awhile back and got an email last night asking if I wanted to try Cartier's new fragrance, which I did. So I'll be getting a sample from them.
 

 
Got some complimentary stuff from Clinique like Take the Day Off Makeup Remover Mini, Long Last Lipstick Mini in All Heart, and

Almost Lipstick in Black Honey mini, I'm buying some of their eyeliner cause of a free sample I got from them.

 
I just received a bag of "samples" from Acure Organics. I say "samples" because they gave me 2 full size products (sensitive facial cream, and eye cream) plus 2 little bottles of marula oil. The marula oil are samples, but they are generous samples. I emailed customer service asking for advice and samples. I already use their exfoliator and argan oil, both of which I love. The esthetician wrote me a very long and detailed email with a recommended list of products to use day, night, and weekly. Today, I received the products. Wow, so generous. I wrote a thank you email and plan to continue to correspond with her. Seriously shocked by how generous they were with advice and products.
