Their loss! Honestly, I got that green serum in my birchbox and felt it was just okay. It almost felt sticky to an extent, and the sample didn't do enough to make me think about replacing my regular old argan oil that I use post-washing, before moisturizer every day.

And thanks for the Origins tip. My skin is oily, but my mom has dry skin and she is always at Macy's, so I have to tell her to ask to try that out.
I guess I don't feel bad about not getting an JV serum sample then!

I sent an email to Erno Laszlo last night to request a serum sample, and today I got a nice reply.  They are sending me not just the sample I requested, but the 1oz neck cream they are giving out with orders this week, and samples of their entire line for dry skin.   EL is a little pricey, but I don't mind spending money on my skin.  I just want to try it first to know I wont have a reaction.

Wow!  It looks like I'm going be receiving the following samples from Mario Badescu:

I may or may not have done a mini happy dance when I saw the last 2 items on the list.

I finally got an email from Maria Badescu regarding the online quiz I took. They are sending out some samples based on the results of that quiz. I had given up on them since it took at least a couple of weeks to get the email back.

Me too...and I took that quiz how long ago? Anywoo, when I clicked on the bottom of the email ,it went to a page that said that there were no products associated with my account. I chatted with online help...who was helpful until she realized I just wanted my samples. She was a bit short then. Oh well. If I get them, I get them, If not, oh well.

There was a post for free apricot cuticle oil on the Essie Facebook website. I tried it two hours ago and got through.

Just emailed lots of companies...with the skin ones i voiced my skin concerns in the email and the same with hair....

I also just emailed a bunch of companies that i heard from them through a beauty guru and noticed they carry xy items. let's see who responds. Thanks for the great ideas!

Soooooo. I started this process LESS THAN A WEEK AGO and this Is all I received so far. I have individual pics but I won't clog the thread. These are samples from 14 companies. I have received confirmation and am awaiting samples from 19 more companies. I am still waiting to hear from 34 more companies. Only 9 companies said they could not send me samples and of them, 5 had samples available for purchase. I have actually purchased from some. I have a sample addiction apparently. I am making a spreadsheet of all the companies and the contact links and outcome. As soon as I finish my project I will make it available for everyone! I started this for my own benefit, as I am very loyal and assuming I really do like the products, I will remember the generousity and exceptional customer service (and lack thereof) of these companies. What I have found so far: Arcona has great customer service! DermOrganics has great sized samples. Marula is stingy with their samples...erno laszlo has great samples...love the Archipelago stuff but does anyone know if there's actually a use for it or do we just smell it???? Overall this has been a great experience and I can't wait to update everyone!!!
I would love to hear more about your experience! It sounds like you found some great brands and I believe good customer servise is part of just that!

Are you sure you clicked on the right thing? On the bottom of the email it should say "Please click here if you are interested in receiving product samples", right under the big green banner saying "Add all recommended items in your cart". I just submitted the form, hopefully my products are on its way!

I'm completely new here.  This is my very first post!  I just discovered Makeup Talk and this thread this past weekend.

I love trying new things and getting samples of products!  I have sent requests to a few of the companies that were mentioned here and have gotten a very positive response!  I'm only requesting samples of products that I'm truly interested in trying and may want to purchase, so I don't expect to get tons of freebies, but I know I will really enjoy trying the ones I do get.

Two of the companies I contacted for samples that said no are Fekkai and Shea Terra Organics.  I was disappointed with Shea Terra as I really want to try their products, but they did give me a 30% off plus free shipping code that I'm planning on using soon.  Fekkai said that they sometimes will give 3 samples with a 50.00 purchase, which to my mind, kind of defeats the purpose of getting samples.

Other samples that I'm receiving that I don't see listed on this thread are shampoo/conditioner from Cashmere Curls (sorry I don't have an email address, it was a form on their website.) and L'Oreal is giving out samples of their new line that is supposed to be similar to Kerastase on their Facebook page.  I'm also getting a free bottle of Excedrin 24 ct. that is on their Facebook page.

That's great that your getting those samples, especially the last two!  Mario Badescu's Drying cream is legendary.

I'm not a fan of Mario Badescu for the most part, but there are 3 Mario Badescu products I can't live without and have on hand at all times - The facial spray with aloe, rosewater and herbs is amazing and smells fantastic! It feels refreshing and I especially love it in the warmer months.  It's only 7.00 for a good size bottle.  I also adore their Carnation oil eye makeup remover.  Its also 7.00. . The ingredients are just carnation oil, sesame oil and floral extract.  It's made to remove eye makeup but because its so pure and simple, and carnation oil is so good for skin, I use it for a lot of different things - I use it on my cuticles, I rub a little into any dry patches I might get, and sometimes just put it on my face as a treatment.  I love it!  The 3rd thing is Mario Badescu's cleansing milk with carnation and rice oils.  It says to tissue off, but I remove it with a hot wet face cloth and it leaves my skin soft, smooth and glowing, and and it removes every last trace of makeup.  When I use my toner after this, my cotton pad looks clean after I swipe my face.  The cleanser is 10.00.  Once my bottles of any of these 3 products are half empty, I order more so I don't run out.  I also like that I get 2 choose 3 samples when I order.  I usually get samples of the rose hips mask which is good for about 3 uses, and one of the serums, and a night cream.

Edit: I have been wondering about the Azulene Calming Mask.  Can you let us know what you think of it after you get it and give it a try?

I cant believe all the samples some of you girls are getting in just a week's time!  I love seeing the photos of the samples.

I know this is kind of weird, but I cant stand having tons of products lying around if I don't think its something I'm going to really like and want to purchase.  I guess getting all those samples is a great way to discover new products though, so I'm probably missing out on a lot of great products by being so fussy.   I did email several of the companies that were mentioned here this weekend.  I've gotten quite a few positive responses already!

If anyone is interested, L'Oreal is giving out samples of their new hair care line on Facebook.

I e-mailed Josie Maran, but they told me that they didn't have any samples right now and hope to get some in the future. I was also told to try to get some from Sephora.

Then I tried Jouer, got a fast response, and was offered the same samples as everyone else that contacted them: Luminizing Moisture Tint (pick your shade), 2 mini Moisturizing Lip Glosses (Wind, Tender, Mirage, Peony, Mimosa, or Glisten - I got Mimosa and Tender) and Essential Lip Enhancer! I just got an e-mail saying she's sending mine out this week. Can't wait!
I got samples from Josie Maran just last week, so you should try again.  I received a 4 packets of argon oil, 3 of packets of a body butter in different scents, a small tube of an argon oil cream and an adorable little Argon Color Stick, which is a little blush stick in the shade "Love" - a very pretty light dusty rose color.

I just said I was interested in the Josie Moran brand of skincare and cosmetics and asked if there were any samples available.

I usually use a cream cleanser from Paula's Choice, but this one is thicker and creamier. It's also more expensive though haha.
