My gift card showed up today for the live chat. Came with a handwritten note. That was actually very nice of them. Made my day!
Me too! I was totally shocked! Really didn't expect to receive one (even though I heard they were sending them...) because I only said a couple of things. So generous! Excited to use it tomorrow AM!

Can those on the East Coast report back on the event? I know they won't all be the same but my guest cancelled last night and I'm not feeling it this morning. It would be nice to get some input as to whether or not it's worth heading out.

if it's just me going, i probably wouldn't.. but i'm going with another MUT member today (i'll meet her for the first time today!), and i'm excited!

just got back - not a big deal out here in dedham.  I did snag some extra free samples, but really, it was not a big partah.

The rain outside just made staying in with a cup of steaming hot cocoa that much more attractive.

I did invite my friend on Thursday and her hubby's ill and I just didn't "want to go" enough to try and invite another, as I was already feeling a bit flakey...

So yeah, today I'm a biscuit, all flakey and warm... in my bed, right there with ya @latinafeminista!

the little bag is quite nice - it is a tough canvas material with a wristlet.  The samples are pretty pathetic.

foils

smashbox photo primer

algenist pore corrector

sephora body butter

wei firming cream

perfek skin perfecting gel

l occitane precious cream

the saleclerk tossed in .5 oz clinique repairwear laser focus (which I am happy to get).  When I saw the boxes of bigger samples behind her, I asked about them as well, and she also gave me

murad oil control mattifier  (.33 oz)

murad hydro dynamic moisturizer (.25 oz)

be ready bare minerals pack - included prime time foundation primer & a nice sample of their powder foundation - alas, they gave me golden dark....I am medium.    This is way too dark for me

they packed my purchase and samples in one of those black friday totes - which is nice, cause I love my tote bag

Reporting back! I went to the event right toward the start (9:10...had trouble figuring out where I was supposed to park!). I didn't bring a +1 because none of my friends are as crazy as me. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> It was really not nearly as crowded as I expected it to be--honestly, half of the bodies in the store were sales people. They had (tasty! and generously sized!) pastries, coffee, and cute mini Rouge-branded disposable water bottles.

I was actually really pleased with the event and genuinely surprised by it. The staff were SO FRIENDLY (shout out to Tyson's Corner staff! Great job!) and there were soo many of them (in a good way). Really eager to help and generous with samples and services. They kept asking me if I wanted to have a service (they were doing hair, lips, and eyes at the normal makeup studio, and other skincare stuff with reps throughout the store), so I finally was like sure what the hell and got an eye service. Not the most amazing makeup I've ever had, but it was fun and the woman was very friendly to chat to. While I was getting my service done, the store director came up and introduced herself and chatted. She gave me her card and said please contact her with any issues, questions, etc. in the future. A nice touch!

The one thing that really made a difference is that they clearly limited the amount of people who could attend, which made the whole experience so enjoyable. I was at one of the stores that was listed as "full" for the RSVP too. It wasn't all crammed in (less crowded than a normal holiday Saturday) and was really easy to get to the services/reps, etc. This store covers a pretty large area of NoVA for the "home store," so I was really just expecting a total shitshow. But it was so pleasant and fun.

I didn't talk to any of the specific brand reps at my store. The only one I wanted to work with was the Hourglass rep, who looked hilariously annoyed because they were sold out of all but one color of both the Ambient powders and the blushes, which were what I had been wanting to try. I was bummed by that--I made a beeline straight to Hourglass upon arrival to try the powders in person and they were even out of the tester displays! I mean, really? I think I'll be ordering the powder online with the code. So anyway, I get why the rep was annoyed, and kind of poor planning on their part!

I received the bag with the foil samples, some extra foils, and a Rouge mirror. I'll go take a photo and post in a sec!

I went to the sephora in Braintree mass and they had Starbucks coffee and all the bakery items Starbucks sells which was nice. The sales associates didn't push products which I appreciated and there is a new blow out store opening in the mall and they have out their own bag of goodies. The shopping bags had extra samples in them besides the ones you got with your purchase- a sephora mascara sample, eyeshadow sample, primer sample, and some living proof samples. They have my boyfriend his own shopping bag so I got double the samples but other than the nice atmosphere and food I don't think the samples are worth it. They were completely out of a ton of products which bothered me because I think they should've restocked everything for "their best customers."
