Thats a good point. I reviewed my account and since hitting rouge in November of last year, I've put in 4 orders that were less than $50. I used one code twice. Is that worth the extra $650?? I don't think so.  I think once no-buy is over, my plan is going to be:

1. Hit platinum at Ulta first

2. Start a new account for online and use it for any orders over $50 to try and hit VIB there (shouldnt be hard)

3. Continue to use my rouge account for in-store, and if I hit it again, great. If not, that's ok too.
I don't really shop ulta, are the perks there good?

In fact I didn't start shopping Sephora until October and now I hit rouge and have one vib account (yikes), but in my defense I'd been using the same Mac products for years and never really used skincare. So it wasn't hard to reach this point!

Yes it's under my name, just in case I have to show ID for a return or something.

*although I think I will use my Hubbys name for the next one, hahaha. Then I can say look at all the packages you ordered

I've only recently gotten into ulta as well. Only thing I like more is that you can redeem your points for money off a purchase. They also do 3x points, 4x points, and I think one time a year they do 10x points too so that racks up for money off your next purchase. It's not a TON (Right now I'm at just over 250 points and I have a coupon for $8 off my next order if I want it) soooooo....I just buy a lot of nail polish/hair stuff/nyx there. I try and buy my drugstore makeup there too when they have BOGO or BOGO50% sales going on. Typically makes it cheaper than Target.

The only thing I don't like is that points expire if you're not platinum.

That's at least my basic understanding of it!

Yep they do expire, I sometimes but my shampoo and conditioner there and I had points expire. Which ticked me off because I'd made a purchase just a week before and the person at the counter didn't tell me.

I prefer perks to cash off, I think...a $15 or $20 sample of something I'm interested in trying sounds better then a few $$ off. But I could be wrong...

Ulta has TONS of GWP too. I'm almost platinum for this year. I might switch to ulta mainly next year. Im enjoying my free sephora shipping this year.

With that 10x point deal @ Ulta, spend $100 and you get 1000 points, which is $50. If you spend $200, you get 2000 points, which is $125 off. To me, the trick with Ulta is to not buy much except when there's a good bonus point bonus going on. But Sephora has brands Ulta doesn't. I don't tend to "try" for these levels like I do to get airline status, but I use somewhat expensive basics. I'm more than halfway to Rouge this year already. And about 25% to Ulta platinum.

Anyone know when the 10x points deal is?

Obviously VIBs being able to use rouge codes was a glitch.  So far it's only happened with the very first round of rouge codes that came out, and we don't know if it wasn't fixed later.  (The NARS code seemed to take forever to run out and that was a full sized product.  It lasted at least a week longer than the recent trio they had).

Rouge is still extremely new, and I am glad that they are at least trying to roll out perks.  I am going to give time to fix the bugs.

The 10 point deal is only one day a year, but it is definitely worth watching out for!

I think it was in late August last year - right before I hit platinum there. I'm not sure if it's always in August.

Do you have to be platinum for the 10x points or is it for everyone?

Last year, I think it was only for Platinum people.

I just ordered that narsrouge perk a couple days ago and it's listed on my shipping notice, so it may still be available. I hope so anyway.

I just saw the VIB Rouge on my Sephora account and immediately googled to see if there is any discussion on this topic outside of Sephora.com and found this forum. Super excited to be "next level" VIB. It's only half-way through the year and I already spent over $2.5K on Sephora purchases.  Hello. My name is Mia and I am a make-up addict. LOL. It looks like I found the right place right here with other beauty junkies.

[/quote OMG! I spend THAT at least once a week! Hahaha!!

i haven't heard any chatter - but i've heard lots of talk about a rouge only event during chic week!
