Then your spendings for QY + 1 will need to reach either $300 to maintain VIB or $1000 to maintain VIB-R. So startegy might be that if you are able to wait on any large purchases after your Chrismtas shopping, defer them to 2014.
The count restarts each calendar year. The count towards vib/rouge goes back to 0 January 1st.

The rationale is that your spending habit in 2014 will determine your status in 2015.

I know you have to start over each year, but what I'm thinking is this: I got VIB Rouge when it first came out and I do love it for the free shipping. However, I spent way too much at Sephora this year. Next year, I'll still get free shipping. So maybe I try to cut back a little. At most, I could shoot for regular VIB. Then, in 2015, I could try for Rouge again, with a target of hitting it within the first 6 months or so. To me, since you get 'free' status for the year after you earn your status, it gives you a year to kind of slack off if you want to and save up for the following year when you really need to requalify.

Yeah, next year I am definitely not aiming to qualify for rouge again. I think it's the skincare that pushed me over the top. I've trying to make savvier choices with skincare. Like, I found a really good quality cleanser at Trader Joe's that doesn't have any nasty ingredients (no SLS OR SLES!!) and is packed with vitamins and copper peptide. They probably don't do that much good since you rinse off, but at least it's free of bad chemicals and is in fact formulated by an unnamed dermatologist and apparently the same formula is in his $20 name-brand cleanser. And my evening moisturizer is by Cerave, which I am in love with. It's a ceramide heavy formula, and  I wake up with my skin feeling soft. It's so great. And my lip/cuticle treatment is by Eucerin -- Aquaphor. My body moisturizer and shower oil are also by Eucerin.

I'm gonna replace some of my more expensive skincare items (exfoilants, day cream w/ SPF, serum, etc) with Paula's Choice, which is around or slightly more expensive than what you find in the drugstore at about $15-20 bucks per item but a damn sight cheaper than the majority of the stuff in Sephora.

I mean, with a few exceptions, the majority of the skincare in Sephora are highly fragrant. As someone with sensitive skin, those natural essential oils are just as damaging as the ones with cheap synthetic fragrance. My skin is a lot happier since I made the change.

Ah I was confused- I read that as qualify for rouge and not re-qualify :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Yeah, me too...  It's almost become a monkey on my back.  I like your strategy!

I was a little embarrassed that I was already Rogue when it released - esp. since I was trying to spend less this year since I quit work to launch my own business. While I know a third of it was the UD Eyeliner Vault, which I do not regret in the slightest, still...

Christmas/Holiday shizz is going to do me in.  Sure wish they could use Q4 sales towards next year's Rogue...lol. I'm trying to be smart and order things when there is a great promo or wait for a F&F sale. I have not ordered anything but my list is growing.

And then, there are promos. I keep reminding myself I do not need the VIB Hourglass promo and I'm not out of anything yet: I know that Hourglass has amazing products but I have a surplus of a surplus of both primers and red lippies/glosses. And I also know the Holiday "It" Kits are coming and are usually a better value for a promotion.

U-G-H the Holidays.

Yup, I'm taking the same strategy. So far the only Rouge perk has been free shipping and that lipstick in our welcome kit, so I wouldn't mind not requalifying next year and waiting for 2015 to get back my Rouge status. My spending was crazy this year because it's when I started to get into makeup, but by now I'm stocked up. I will probably get really excited when the holiday kits come out next year, so I'm sure I will be getting VIB then.

I just hit VIP but I am not sure if I should stock up on things I want with my 10% coupon or wait. Do we ever get a 20% coupon that does not have exclusions? I want a glo etc.

In the 3-4 years I've shopped at Sephora, I don't think any of their coupons have ever had exclusions. The catch is, coupons don't come around very often (usually just twice a year- around April and November/December). I've been trying to resist buying more makeup right now so I can buy during the 20% off period for VIBs later in the fall and It Kits/ $15/$20 off coupon they normally have after that, but all the great promo codes lately are making it really hard!

Was in the middle of placing an order when I looked up and it said VIB Rouge, yea!!! They just caught up with all my orders. I saw the Bobbi brown 500 point perk and was ordering to get that, it was the first 500 pointer I liked and have way too many points. So happy for the free shipping. Added the VIB welcome kit and it says it comes with a lipstick, someone please tell me it's not red, for those who have received, what did you get?

Oh, I just knew it would be a red. It's why I broke up with ipsy. Red lipstick and black eyeliner. I have enough to last generations lol

Thanks for the info:)

Did anyone else find out about the Bobbi Brown 500 pointer too late? I had it in my cart, was shopping, and then it was suddenly out of stock when I went to check out. I am very, very upset by this, especially as a Rouge customer. So much so I am seriously ready to look for better places to buy beauty online.

That happened the other day, then they put it back up. I would just check again later. I'm not sure how it works, but I think they use some inventory management software that kinda randomly changes the selection. I've seen it on samples and 100 point perks as well. If not, check in store, I'm sure they still have it.

Actually, just after I posted this here, I went back to obsessively refresh the page. For a split second, I was able to add it to basket AND check out with it. I worked lightening fast--like 20 seconds, maybe, but I got it. Out of caution, I sent an email with my order number explaining I only placed the order for the BB 500 point set, so if I wasn't getting it, I would prefer to cancel my whole order. We'll see what happens. Crossing my fingers though. And yeah, their software is nuts! It was in stock, then out, then in, then out, on and on and on. Guess I beat the system, lol!

I am Rouge and never get an email (or any notification) about the point rewards.  I don't think getting a first chance at them is a perk of Rouge.  I just have to check the website frequently or many times they'll post it on the Sephora Active Codes forum here.

I just wish we'd get some good 100 pt perks again... First I was waiting for better "3 samples", now I'm waiting for a good 100 pt perk.  I'm picky, obvs.

I've had a 100 point perk I really wanted suddenly disappear from my cart. It never even occurred to me to refresh the page. I ended up just saving the points for a future order and shrugged it off. I also try to be choosy about redeeming my points and so far I've yet to get any of the 500-point bonuses. They always remind me that it took me $500 to be able to have it as an option, and while of course no item is ever going to be worth that much, it's usually enough to change my mind and make it feel not worth it. I'd rather gradually let go of 100 points here and there than 500.

HeatherHicks. hope it works out.

We will soon, they have been doing the big updates for them at the beginning of the month.
