2nd purchase of the new year=official!  

I bought some brush cleaner (the new (to Sephora) kind in the blue bottle), DermaDoctor Kakadu C Amethyst mask, Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean deep cleansing milk.  

The face wash is for my honey.  The poor guy is not reacting well with anything the last few months.  We keep trying things but it all gives him red bumps, zits, or dries his face out and gives flakies.  Hopefully this one works finally.  

I contemplated the new skincare sample bag, but I know I don't like half the stuff already, so I went with the "delight" code again and picked a hair product--alterna caviar something or other.. 

Then spent 450 points on the new Love Story perfume mini, BB blow dry stuff, and the tarte lip gloss.

I got my extra points credited to my account right away.

@@Hamburgertime I've returned stuff after 90 days and I've never had a problem. That being said, it depends on the store.

New here and looking for advice.  I had a great bonus and stocked up on some standbys in late 2013, but the items I purchased no longer suit me.  I have all of the receipts, but I feel terrible returning since it has been so long.  All unused/still in box.  Did I wait too long?  I would be totally fine with store credit.  What do you think?

IMO it's too late. But, if you don't have personal qualms with it, you could return without the receipt for store credit.

You could also sell them on ebay or something since technically the return policy is 90-days.

I want to share my experience of return without receipt.

They will ask you for your driver's license.  And you will be enter into the system.  If you don't do this often it should be okay.

In 2013 and majority of 2014 I could always return gifts people give me etc with no receipt fine.  But in December 2014 they rejected my return and told me i cannot make any more return without receipt for the year of 2015.

There is this whole report you can get.  I went to the website they gave me and looked at my report.  They kept track of all the Return no receipt return with the # items, amount etc.

So do be careful.  

Now i make my husband make returns with no receipt for me.  Especially during xmas! people know i love makeup but they don't give me the receipt! and I feel embarrassed to ask for it....  i.e. "hey thanks for the make up gift i like it but i am gonna return it and get something else instead...  "

The skin care bag samples kinda calls to me, I love cleansers! So weird anyway...

For in-store purchases, my points don't reflect on my account. The SA told me I needed to call in and get them added, do I need to do that within a certain time frame (week, month, 90 days)? Anyone know?

- murad acne clearing solution 3 foils

I didn't open the bare minerals and murad cardboard holders, so I don't know the sizes. They feel like pretty standard foils, though.

I'd definitely do it ASAP. Did they store not enter your stuff in properly? If you have an iPhone, you can download your Beauty Insider card into your Passport Wallet. I'd do that if I were you to ensure they're putting your purchases on your proper card.

People seriously need to learn about gift receipts. I always try to get a gift receipt when I'm buying someone a gift.

This so much. Especially when makeup is such a diverse category and it's so easy to go wrong with it - we make enough mistakes with buying for ourselves lol, I can't even imagine how much more difficult it is for family/friends to try to buy it for us...

@@Jaly Would you mind giving a general figure of how much your returns w/o receipts totaled for them to flag you? I'm paranoid about getting flagged for this even though I probably only return stuff without a receipt once or twice a year.

Coupon, ha! I was actually asking the nice sales-lady about the buy 5 event, and she absentmindedly handed me a free sample bag. I asked if I needed the mailer, and she laughed and said no, because no one ever seems to have those. (This might be different at other stores, or at busier times. It was, like, 10AM on a Friday, so the place was basically empty.)

So, in summary, I barely even had to ask for the freebie. It was pretty awesome.

Color me impressed with CS, I emailed them about my Smoked palette being damaged and they are sending me a new one. I figured I'd need to send photos and return the old palette, which would have kept me from doing it, I hate the post and instore returns. 

I have never had a problem with a item being damaged so maybe that's why.

Is it one of those situations where you need to print something, or can you just ask?

there is a barcode on the mailer and they will not give it to you unless you have the mailer with the barcode unfortunately
