I'm slow in trying new stuff.. Was in store yesterday and on a whim sprayed the atelier orange sanguine on my wrist and omg it is the most delicious smell ever!!! I placed quite a few orders when it was available as a sample and for some reason I hoarded that one... And now I'm thanking the sephora gods that I did, even before I knew I loved it.

I thought I loved cedrat enivrant but when I sprayed it on my arm, it morphed into too much musk for me... I think it reads more masculine than I can pull off (but I would probably love it if dh wore it) but orange sanguine doesn't do that on me... Love!!

@@bluemustang  I live two and a half hours from the nearest Sephora, ( or Ulta or anything but Walmart, and it's half an hour for that)  so I also understand what it's like to want to be able to stock up on samples of things, since we only "go to town" once a year.....but I have also seen the way women try and get wayyyy too many freebies by going to each SA separately, and I have heard people brag about how they never pay for anything, they just keep getting samples. So I totally get it.

Ruins it for everyone else.

Yep, was thinking the same thing while in store yesterday.  I wasn't offered a sample of the foundation I bought.  I probably would have preferred it but, how do you separate the peeps that really look to that service to make selections and to those that take advantage.

It's rare that I have to contact Sephora cs, but if I do I go right to Facebook and skip all the other unhelpful types.

So, it's getting close to my birthday and I plan on getting atleast a little something from Sephora (I have a $10 GC coming for sure...). I will probably make a trek to a physical store, but am contemplating an online order. Are there any decent newish codes for makeup products? It seems like most I've been seeing that have been new are skincare.

@@Kelli - I think there are only old ones that may work. I was poking around with my last order. Nothing too exciting though.

DELIGHT - Mascara or Lip gloss

6MILLION - Too Faced Lipstick

BARESKIN - Bareminerals foundation

FLAWLESS - Laura Mercier Foundation

@@Kookymama thanks! The Too Faced one will be a good one for me (haven't tried any of their lip products yet!), so if nothing comes along before my Birthday, that one will work out :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Sephora's response which I'm assuming they know is a giant pile of BS because they make it nearly impossible to copy because it's a giant link back to their homepage. So I complained to FB CS which is getting really old.

Is anyone else getting pissed off about having to BEG to get appropriate responses from companies nowadays?
They've done this to me. Respond back and say "IF YOU WOULD READ MY EMAIL AGAIN, you would see I'm unhappy with the resolution they gave me. 100pts for a defective 500 pt product is unacceptable..." etc

It's funny... I have the opposite experience... talking to them on FB has failed me miserably the two times I tried it. I do think it's better to directly write to their CS than to use the contact form on their page, IDK why.

The Spokane Sephora still had several Black Friday sets. I bought the Boscia one with the blotting papers and mask. They had Josie Maran Kat Von D, Ole Henricksen, Tocca, Living Proof, Smashbox... There may have been others.

Whoa, wish I lived in Spokane! My Sephora was cleaned out.

And you might want to check out the Sephora codes only thread. I think the next to the last page has a huge list of codes you could try!

Wowwww sephora. I feel like the only time I've ever gotten decent CS from them was when I called, but I'm practically allergic to phone calls so it's always my last resort. Emails are useless and their fb team can't even spell my 3 letter first name right.

That reply reminds me of how comcast tried to charge me $80 or something for them sending a tech here and "finding no comcast issue." The tech NEVER SHOWED UP, yet he falsified his records and said he had... After about 931693 levels of ~supervisors~ and 2 hours later it ended up with a refund and 3 free months of some stupid package of channels I don't even watch.
I'm so jealous, I have spent countless hours on with CS with comcast, and even after several of the CS reps lied to me (confirmed by the supervisor because as he put it 'that is what they are supposed to do unless someone complains MORE') and all I get is the run around, and told that I don't know what I'm looking at and 'is there a man in the house?' comment.  I have yet to address that comment because the last time I called to transfer service (which I know is going to end up being a cancellation since they do not service my new area - YEAH!!) they sent me to a line that no one answered...

I personally think CS is down all over.  Regardless of what method is taken.  I've been talking offline with my SS and one of the items I sent her was the UD lip set.  She got two Crush colors and no Ladyflower.  I posted to both Sephora and UD FB.  Maybe it is just me, but the response of having her return the gift as a 'return without receipt' is not what I would expect, especially since she cannot get another one in-store.  But then again I tend to have lofty expectations when it comes to CS.  UD just deferred to Sephora.  Interestingly, someone else responded to my UD post that they rec'd their set from UD (not Sephora) and had two Ladyflowers and no Crush! LOL!

Thank you for participating in the exclusive Sephora Flash program. To show our appreciation, we are excited to extend your Flash subscription until February 1, 2015, at no additional charge. Thank you!  I was hoping it was a later date but it's good to know I should redeem my points now.

@ I always force myself to be very calm with people even when they're being obnoxious but if I'd gotten that "is there a man in the house?" question I would've ripped them a new one. There is NOTHING that I hate more than people assuming that I'm just a cute little girl who understands nothing about "man" stuff. When 3 of my fellow rabid soccer fan friends and I made the trek to NYC to watch the English team we support, we got all sorts of crap like "OMG female gooners! Are you guys like, really fans?" Bro I flew in from freaking Texas, what do you think? My default answer is now just "would you be asking me that if I had a dick?"

Thankfully most of the time for home service related things (Comcast, pest control - EEK SPIDERS EVERYWHERE) it's more like "are you over 18? I can't come in unless you are" That's also annoying, but at least it's not discriminatory over my gender, it's just because I'm baby faced and small and is unfortunately a valid question. I say unfortunate because it's pretty embarrassing to be mistaken for my 15 year old cousin's little sister or to be asked when I start high school when I'm a college grad, but I'm sure I'll appreciate it a lot once I hit my 30s and it becomes more flattering lol.

Also, the whole missing/duplicate lipsticks just confuses me. I'm trying to imagine a production system that makes that a common defect but I just can't... Which means UD probably used some antiquated system to pack those sets. Sometimes the business practices of some companies really makes me question how they stay in business. I mean, just look at ulta. "Oh we forgot a free sample pack? Here's a $20 gift card"

I find it funny when people speak only to Hubby about things because no decision gets made in my household without my stamp of approval. It's not him you should be pleasing, it's me. It's funny to see them address him and then have him turn and address me, especially because he's fairly imposing/brooding so to see him deferring to someone who comes to his shoulder is kinda funny. They don't get the message either because when they start again they're addressing him.

I've seen him!  And you aren't kidding as to the imposing/brooding description LOL!  You'd think the first time he deferred to you that everyone would take heed and do the same LOL!!!

EDIT for typo.
