My Algenist promo came in a box with a label, but I wasn't after the bag anyway. I recently picked up and started using some Algenist products and really like them, so the promo sizes are amazing and will be lovely for travel. I wasn't yet willing to shell out the money for the Genius cream, but I have two deluxe samples to try now thanks to this promo and the JCPenny Sephora Favorites Skincare bag. JCPenny also had an Algenist GWP so I was able to get that as well!

Thanks for the heads up - I was going to head over to SiJCP tonight to see what's new...Ulta has two GWP's for Algenist right now too.

unless that SA is SUUUPER friendly, i would expect not. you can find sales associates on instagram who are willing to give away codes (look up #sephora or #sephoragirls and try to find a post related to the F&F discount). I tried your plan of asking a friendly SA and they were weirded out by the fact that I asked and I was reminded that it was for friends and family and must be given the code.

I already mentioned last week that my FanFriday was missing from Sephora and just to prove to you I'm not crazy...

It's just completely disappeared for me. When I click on "Black Friday" which actually has a link that leads to fan friday, it also doesn't work.

...oh and I guess they have a new code out for a mini Too Faced lipstick. TBH I feel like a 20% code is way better. I"ll be using that or the VIBEYES if I make a purchase before the end of the month (probably yes)

Wow, I didn't think it'd be out until January! I'm wondering the size of that, because I'm picturing it as large as the ambient lighting palette, but I know it's got to be much smaller.

I think I'll wait to see what other colors are available. I can't wait to swatch it and see the quality.

Pumpkin and Poppy's Inner Glow powders. They're loose powders, which is a deal-breaker for some people, and obviously they're not a palette. But for about $10 each, I think one of them will provide me with just as much delight as any of the hourglass powders or blushes.

You're super awesome at finding dupes! I was going to put an order in to Pumpkin and Poppy soon so maybe I should pick up one of those as well. Do they really have similar effects on skin as the ambient lighting powders, or are they just also similarly-colored shimmery powders?

Man, I really wish that Sephora would permit a discount code and a promotional item code being used together. That palette is gorgeous!

That stinks that she was so freaked out by you asking. I mean... she didn't have to feel obligated to give it to you obviously, but she could have at least said it/acted a bit nicer. I thought about asking the SA that I always chat with, but I think I'm glad I can't get the code because I don't want to use the 20% off yet.... I'm waiting on the VIB sale, which is going to be 20% off and  I'm hoping it'll coincide with Black Friday sales, but I won't hold my breath. I just hope some good blitz bags/mystery deluxe bags are out by then so I can take advantage of the multiple 20% off orders.

Thank you! Loose powders are harder to work with for me, but not a deal-breaker.

After a few weeks off from ordering with Sephora, I break down and do 7 orders in a few days.  :blush:  The first, my Tarte Pin Up  Blush palette, was great...it felt late, but I've been super busy...the next two were late, I got them today and should have received them yesterday.

One of them had a missing sample, but somehow my order confirmation email didn't have three samples either, just two.  This order had the ROUGEHAIR promo, and drybar's Hot Toddy's seal was broken.

My other order has me so mad at myself for ordering with Sephora again... :angry:   :angry:   :angry: I have had Too Faced Natural Eyes on my loves list FOR-E-VER!!  So I bought that, and picked up the Algenist promo, the Algenist Eye Balm sample, with a couple of serums to boot!  Quadruple win!

Except, my Algenist promo did not have a bag like the image (I'm sure it said somewhere the bag wasn't included, but I thought it was).  Another poster also got the product, minus the bag so that wasn't a fluke.  My Algenist Eye Balm became stila's color balm lipstick in vivienne, ali and natasha - sample card.  And finally, my Too Faced Natural Eyes palette is PREVIOUSLY OWNED/USED/SWATCHED with an obviously manhandled box!  :spidyhead:   :spidyhead:   :spidyhead:

I'm sooooooooo disgusted.  Who knows where this palette has been?  If I wanted gently used I'd go to eBay or some other discount or second hand / resell website.  I paid for straight from distributor!  I will also be more selective with what samples I choose (I still have some store credit) and I'm going to stick with foil samples.  I don't care if they are smaller.  They are sanitary.  I'd rather sample sanitary sparingly, than a big glob of contamination.

Well, Sephora states really clearly that any samples you choose can be substituted at any time- it sucks, but it really isn't a big deal. Also, are you sure the Too Faced was manhandled? The box may have just been a little bit damaged. Still, just take it in with packing slip and explain the problem. Problem solved, just like that! Really? I guess I've only been VIB since about this time last year, but I remember last year there were lots of in-store VIB events. Now it seems like the online ordering perks are the only good part about being VIB, whereas the instore events are for Rouge members only or open to all beauty insiders... I mean, I don't shop in stores that often anyway, but I guess it's just what you value. I would've liked to go to more in-store events, I think, if they had any just for VIB+

There have been 2 Rouge events so far this year (New York had a few more), it was 15% off and a goody bag of samples, they also had cookies and coffee at 8am. It was okay, but I skipped the 2nd one.

Honestly I have been annoyed with the Rouge codes. Very few are worth spending the $35 required over the $25 for normal codes. I've already spent 3x more than VIB, why am I required to spend more per order on top of that for my supposed perks?
