Okay, here are some pictures of the Nails Inc polishes.

Also, to add to my raves, the glitter polish performed great too for application.  Went on nice and saturated, dried fast, and doesn't leave a heavily textured chunky finish once dry.

It took me less than a minute to paint my nails with the black silk base color, and about 20 seconds to slap on the glitter..  No cleanup done--yes, it is that nice to work with. :)
Oh my gosh, I love the NailKale! I tried them in Sephora yesterday and you're right- the formula and the brush are amazing. It was the first time I was able to give myself a professional-looking manicure (and I just did it standing up in-store, so double points!!!!

I got the dark green color in the Nail Kale line, but now I kind of want to get that base coat too.... and maybe another couple of colors, like the brightener and one of the nudes.

Also, today at Sephora a SA/cast member told me they have this new app in store that allows you to get them to order something for you online (if they don't have it in store) and you get free shipping! Move over, VIB Rouge, because we're coming to town, mwhahaha!

This only works if you come to the store and see them. You can't call in and have them make an order for you. And, they won't do it if it's in the store, obviously. Plus, if it's out of stock online, you're out of luck too.

But it's cool news!

I ended up doing 3 orders, so I could use the fan friday code 3 times.  That makes just shy of a full size bottle of that spray.  Let's see if it is really worth 80+ a bottle full size!
I don't know anything about this product...what is it that you like so much about it? My wish list is small and nothing on it is urgent, so unless I see a promo that knocks my socks off I'm holding out.  (wow, did I REALLY say that??  Let's see if I can DO it then too hahaha).

I do have a brush thing going on right now, I see a set of brushes in the sale section of Sephora, and it's on its way to me before I can say HELLO GORGEOUS! LOL!

So I was in Sephora last night, and a lady was helping me get a perfume sample I wanted, and I asked if they had any gifts with purchase for VIBR.  Another employee was standing there too and right when she started to say yes, and start talking about the two sample MAKEOVER baggies, he started to say no, they didn't have anything.  Then she covered and said that it just came in and he said oh ok well I didn't know yet.  Ok fine.  No biggie.  At the register I get the girl who is usually snotty.  1) she is friendly 2) she thanks me for being Rouge and it doesn't even sound snotty, but then 3) I had to ask about a GWP and WHOA here comes the attitude.  4) the heavy sighs, the sour expression and the response of 'well I mean we have a sample baggie, its just little samples if you want it' I further prompted for the option of one of two sample bags like the other lady said and the look turned to stone...and she literally scanned the baggie, dropped it in the bag, and said 'you can have it.'  That's it.  No good bye, no thank you on my way out.  W.T.F.  Why is that SUCH A BIG DEAL?? I really think that Sephora should decide how they want to be known.  Since I've been shopping more at Ulta - I've been getting almost daily emails of specials and bonus points.  (i.e. 5x on IT brushes, 5x on perfume), etc.  Way worth it and they are now carrying many of the same brands as Sephora.

I don't understand why the SA would have a problem giving that to you. Is it her own personal property that she gets to keep if you don't take it? No. Does it come out of her pay? No. Does she has to personally manufacture more of them if they run out? No. How is it any inconvenience to her? That's so weird! I've never had an experience like that myself at Sephora, luckily.

I think the bags "released" today, and I think it's if you get a mini make over at the beauty studio (formerly known as the express services)

It's not the biggest deal to give one away early tho... gee these people at your store :/

I wish u lived near me, my coworkers and I are nicer than that lol!

I agree, we would never do that at our store! I really try to stick with the rules (wait for today and with the mini makeover) but hello, a Rouge generally knows what they like and probably doesn't need a service done, plus it's awesome you're rouge. I'd be happy to give you one a day early.

A) don't let the rouge status fool you! I'm clueless! But learning and I'm a quick study!

B) well I traveled 2 hours for my appt today with a beauty advisor (none within 80 miles of where I live) so... Where is your store??

C) there is one SiJCP in my area that is super, but it is, at the end of the day, not a full store. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

D) RIGHT?? What's it to them if I get a sample or not?? Ugh. And you don't me but I'm not witchy or feel entitled or anything, so the cold attitude is just astounding sometimes, but I still end with saying "have a good night"

Ok she's back with my goodies gotta go!!!

In the email promotion for them, it says nothing about a makeover, just the usual (just putting this out there so no one gets confused!):

* Offer is available online and in Sephora stores with any merchandise purchase of $25 USD or more. Samples will vary in Canada retail stores and at Sephora inside JCPenney stores

Also, I just looked carefully and the email lists no start date, just to mention it in store, and everyone received said emails yesterday. This is a problem with Sephora as a website not being in-line or communicating properly with Sephora, the brick-and-mortar stores. Them sending out an email promotion with no set date mentioned then giving the stores a set date to release them is just bad communication! It just makes it hard for employees and for customers.

Off topic (sorry!), but I think this is the thread where we talked about Tarte's maracuja oil a few months ago.

Does anyone know where I can get an empty bottle like Tarte's big limited edition one?

I buy my passionfruit seed oil somewhere cheaper but I don't love the packaging. I always meant to pick up one of Tarte's big, pretty bottles w/ the push-button dropper but now they're gone everywhere and I can't find anything similar online.

Nope, when I asked about them at a Sephora store yesterday 9/5, the same day I got the e-mail, the store had them, and were totally willing to give me one. The SA had no idea what I was talking about, though, and she had to dig them out of the back, so it could have just been a problem with the SA at the store in question not knowing they had them?

ETA: Have no explanation as to why they would be so rude about giving them away though. My SA was thrilled to see them, more excited than I was, LOL.

I hope u had fun with the beauty advisor! Tell us everything!

I work at a SiJCP in NY. So you are definitely far from me, but if u ever come to NY let me know! :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

That's strange, see at my store we send flyers out, that say something like "free bag for promotional time with a mini make over", so it's an incentive to promote mini make overs, and you get your bag, no purchase necessary. I think we all got our cables crossed because Sephora has their cables crossed :/

Man, I am terrible!  So many orders placed this morning.

I purchased the new YSL foundation (they got my color back in stock today, so it must have been fate, lol), Shisedo mascara primer (replacement for my current almost gone one), Anastasia brow powder duo (I'm sick of my pencil, and I actually hit pan in my jar of brow pomade!), Jin Soon nail polishes in Azurite and Obsidian, Nails Inc Illuminator polish.

In addition to my purchases last night: Nars blush in Unlawful, FAB ultra repair cream tube, Sephora sheet masks in Pomegranate and Honey, Bliss Micro Magic, and Nars audacious lipsticks in Ana and Fanny.

I don't need any more makeup... I don't need any more makeup.. I don't need any more makeup!

EDIT:  **ummm...not sure why this is attached to this post; I might have replying earlier to this one and forgot I was doing that LOL!

Ok online friends I could really use your help with a problem I am having as a result of my Beauty Advisor appt.  I've been kind of a mess all afternoon and I just don't know what to do.  And when I say a mess, I don't mean to be dramatic but I'm irritable - cranky, can't get anything else done because I'm just a flurry of emotions and NO CLUE what to do about it.

To keep it from getting too long, I'll summarize in three parts.  First - what I loved about my appointment, second - what caught me off guard about the appointment, and third - my plea for guidance on how to handle/resolve it and move on.

Part 1:  I loved the appointment!  The one on one time with someone who really knows her stuff was SO beneficial for me espeicall, because I'm really like the 16 year old when it comes to makeup! All big eyes, but smiles and could just play with my stuff 24/7!

I learned how to apply color to my eyes to a) reduce dark circle appearance, B) brighten the inside corner of my eyes, c) what order eye color should be added (hint:  applying a base layer of a champagne or soft peach color is NOT ok), and d) give a lifting effect with shadow contouring.

I learned how to contour and what brush to use - which is almost as important as the color of your contour!  Also with contouring learned how to give a lifting effect.

I don't usually use eye liner but I do like to use darker color along my lashes - top and bottom, so she did a liner on top and applied the color in between the lashes in an upwarrd stroke - which she says (and appeared to be true) gave a lifting effect too.

I also learned how to use the Ambiance palette by Hourglass. LOVE LOVE LOVE that!!  And I tried an Hourglass lipstain and loved the feel of it too.

Over all I thought my face looked really good after wards - even though the colors are not my usual colors and I NEVER woud wear that lipstick otherwise but it did go with the 'look' she did so I kept it on unti I got out of the store! LOL!

Keep in mind I only slept a few hours last night - I was like a kid the night before Christmas!!  HAHAHA! Anyway my point is my dark cirlces are REALLY bad today!

Part 2:  So I am not really one to argue with people, especially when I feel like I am in their environment and they are on the side of authority and I am on the other side - the student, follower what have you. So when I explained via email in advance of my appt that my main reasons for wanting this appt so badly, was because I have a mountain of products - and really only enough knowledge to use some of it and no real knowledge of how to 'build' on my face. Plus I wanted help with what brushes to use with which products etc.

So when I asked my Beauty Advisor (BA) by email if that was something we could do, she said sure no problem, whatever I wanted and it would be fun! Then a couple days ago I emailed and asked if she had any questions about my skin type, or preferences or allergies or anything (they have an online survey that asks these questions and you are prompted to take the survey right when you make your reservation, but it is currently under construction. She just said tI could bring some of my stuff and we could go through it.  COOL!

I packed all my Tarte (because that is the only line I have EVERYTHING of) and some brushes, and also took my new Tarte to go palette because I wanted help with color.

Now, I'm not dense, but I do tend to get caught up in the moment of things and not be able to see some things that are happening because I'm distracted.  So....when we talked about my skin care routines (AM/PM), and the fact that I have (almost) the full algenist line and I'm pretty married to it, I didn't think anything of it when she brought Ole Henriksen and Caudalie and other brands out for cleansing, toning, priming etc.

When I said I wanted to use my Tarte products so I'd know how to use them at home, I didn't initially think anything of it when she used a Laura Mercier foundation and a Givenchy primer and Stila palette and Anastasia brow product and Hourglass lipstain.

Until I was suddenly hearing the words 'I know you get this for free because you are rouge but most people have to buy $125 in product.' Ummmm........what?   So, and this is my nature, I said yeah sure whatever will give you the credit you should get for the appointment (keep in mind I already told her I wanted to buy my products - if I bought any - online due to 8% ebates but she said she doesn't get credit that way).  So in the end, I agreed to spend $125, and she came up with $150 and change.  I asked to swap another product out and she kind of only wanted to swap one product with another product and I think she needed my purchase to hit $150 so I just let it go at that point.

Now, FYI, I have SERIOUS anxiety, so after 2 hours my meds were low, and I felt like I had a bomb go off around me so I was overwhelmed and when that happens I do whatever I need to do to get away from the situation.  She said she was going to get her remote card reader to check me out and that she kept her 'good' freebie samples in the back and would grab me some (she heard one or two of my sample stories LOL!).  She came back, checked me out.  Held up a Marvelous Moxie Dolly (yes, I nkow that is in one of the lip promos) I vaguely remembering saying yes I was familiar with those as I had several of them and then poof.  I'm done.  So I tried to buy some time to think but the store was crowded now and I was spinning.

I did have the presence of mind to go to the cashier and ask for the MAKEOVER bag with skincare, whihc the lady very happily gave to me so that was nice.

And I've been a wreck every since.  And look I know it is my fault for not realizing the appt really wasn't about me, but about selling products, and even though I got a lot of great info and help, I still don't have what I wanted which was to be able to put Tarte on in the proper way start to finish.

Only now I'm just pissed about it too.  I feel like I want to buy everything online tonight before I lose 8% and return all the stuff.  And here is where I need your help please.  GUIDANCE!  You are all so much more familiar with this stuff - please help me figure this out because I've been sick to my stomach all afternoon.  I just feel a bit angry that she knew all along she was selling and I didn't (and I think I am extra angry because, sadly, this happens to me a lot and it makes me feel SO STUPID).  Anyway this is long and I'm sorry but please please please give me your HONEST (I don't care how brutal) opinion and feedback.

Thank you!

For example, is it wrong to return the products I bought there just because I feel taken advantage of?  It's not like anyone forced me to do anything and I did tell her I would do it.  But then part of me feels that I earned the right to be there without buying anything so why shouldn't I benefit from the ebates?  Oh geez....HELP ME! Thank you!

Oh, and the other thing is I'll likely see her again because of the classes I'm signed up for.  They all rotate giving the classes in the Bay Area.  And look, I really like her and I know she was doing her job, but I just feel kind of suckered.  I don't know...I'll stop rambling now.

I don't think it would be wrong for you to return the products. You already had items you wanted to try and she didn't respect that. Adding a sales pitch on top of it was over the line. I understand that she is supposed to sell sell sell, but she should also be making you feel appreciated and clearly that wasn't the case.

Also, can you please tell me why I just bought two of the three Sephora Disney compacts on ebay? I have no restraint.

I don't know if I like it, I've never tried it.  I just figured if I'm going to order what I did in the first place, I might as well split it into multiple orders and use the code each time.  Now I'll have almost a full size amount to try.  If it is awesome, I'll pay full price for the next bottle.  If it sucks after 3 bottles, then at least I tried it for "free".

I need some new eye brushes, but I'm having a hard time finding ones I like.  I did order some real techniques brushes from Ulta, I'll try them next week when they get here.  I hate how brushes cost so much!

Oh my goodness, and if I see a new purple palette I'm on it sooooo fast!  I've got a cart going now with travel brushes...LOL! I keep telling my self to put the make up bag back though, I get plenty of those for free with other things, and I have a bin of extras, but that black one on sale with Sephora is pretty sexy!!!!

I have only tried a few brands of brushes - bare minerals, several from Tarte, one Estee Lauder...but I really like Sephora's brand of brushes the most.  Truly.  I think they feel nice and are thicker, which is my preference.  That being said, I just ordered two studio sets (I think those are the top quality ones from e.l.f.??) and there's sooooo many brushes in those sets I don't know what I'm going to do with them!  Or where to put them!  I should take a few pictures of my make up stuff....you guys will think I should be committed!! Ha!
