I don't know what happens to me. I can be totally feeling like I have enough, I don't need anymore, I have a nice variety, I DON'T HAVE SPACE FOR IT ALL...and someone says 10x ebates and suddenly I can't think! I am on a mission to get every sale item I even looked at for more than a second, and every bundled goodie bag suddenly becomes a 'how did I miss that MUST HAVE?' I amaze myself with how quickly I can overrule the practical side of my brain. I don't even want to tell you all what I picked up today. Twice. :wassatt:
I spent all my money on the Fortune Cookie Soap launch but here I am considering ordering from Sepora, too... I mean, I have to make it to Rouge at some point right?!

I went through and tossed a TON of stuff that was seriously outdated, but the hoarder in me wasn't letting go. I then stored a bunch of products that are either a) backups or B) collection items so that they are still accessible when I need them but aren't taking up room in my drawer. This is the only way I could justify all of my new purchases, because I absolutely will not let myself go outside of the three drawer storage cabinet that I keep my makeup in.

On a different note, any long time Rouge members know how I can find out how close I am getting to qualifying for another year? I am Rouge through 2015 currently, but I should be close to another year. Before I made Rouge there was that little countdown on my account page, but now I am not sure how to check! Help would be appreciated! :flowers:

It should still be there.  When you are in your account/logged in go to at the top where it says Beauty Insider VIB rouge (it should be clickable) click that.  Then it should tell you how many points you have and how much to spend to make it for next year like this:

Hope that helps!

You have to requalify every year. Your 2015 purchases will qualify you for Rouge through the end of 2016.

I love coming here and talking with everyone!  You all are so nice and have such great feedback - I appreciate it so much!  Plus, I know I'm not alone...it just surprises me, considering 2 years ago if I had foundation on, someone would probably say to me...umm, did you know there is something on your face? LOL!  I think I might even be morphing into one of those women who WILL NOT go out unless fully 'done!' EEEK!  Good grief, next I'll probably start giggling!  You know how I spent my Friday night?  I came home, checked Sephora, Ulta, a few other places, my email, then I took off my make-up, and spent about an hour going through my samples, put together a look...did my make-up from skin care to finish powder, and took selfies!!  Bwaaahaaahahaaa!

(my plea:  Insanity with a side of necessity.  I have to have pics sometimes to enter online beauty contests, and I can see how the make-up settles in my wrinkles better if I look at my face in a picture...it's just different than looking in a mirror - more honest, I think)

But all over the internet I have seen comments from people saying that they have already made Rouge for 2016, 17, etc... is it just a way of subtly implying how much they have spent? Until this year I've always been VIB so I am not understanding how they would encourage people to keep spending once they hit $1000 if they didn't stack the time. I'm so confused!

Ehh... this would have been better in the Rouge thread, I'm sorry!

It doesn't stack.  They're just basically saying they spend enough to qualify again.  I've spent enough to qualify twice over this year already, but it doesn't stack that way.

I've also never spent money at Sephora for the purpose of reaching any shopping levels though.  I spend what I spend, to buy what I want, and that happens to get me to rouge easily.  Once I reach rouge, I still shop there, as most people do.

As sad as it probably is, I'll never have a hard time reaching rouge level as long as the minimum is 1k.  I made rouge for the next year (to re qualify) within the first 3 1/2 months of the year starting.  By the time you add up expensive skin care, hair care, hair brushes, fragrance, makeup up, staple items/tools, gifts...it adds up quick!

But I do most of my shopping at Sephora.  I don't shop a lot at Ulta, etc.  I know other stores have better reward systems than rouge does, but I find for the products I like and promos for stuff I'd actually use, Sephora does me better.  I don't need or like all those stackable promos Ulta offers frequently, because I don't use or like 90% of what they put in them, plus shipping is pretty slow.  I'd rather have one good item from Sephora as a promo and fast shipping.

I never shop at ulta either.   They don't carry most of the brands I love  . There are no ulta stores near me so I am not familiar with them. I love Sephora.   I have one about an hour away from me.  I don't get there much I just buy online

@@normajean2008 I've never tried the original Nails Inc line, but I agree that the bottles didn't look very appealing. There was just something about the shape and the font that never made me want to try them. I just looked up the new line, and the bottles look much nicer! I'll see if I can try them at my Sephora sometime.
The nails inc  makes a beautiful bright blue that is one of my all time nail color favs

i used to never shop at ulta either, since they don't have a lot of products that i love. but now, i find that ulta is good for bath and body products! that's my go-to now for body lotions, shower gel, and body scrubs. i like the tree hut and c.booth lines!

Thank you for clarifying! :flowers: I've always shopped at Sephora, since they first opened in the US, but until last year I've never been invested enough in my makeup and skincare to be higher than VIB. Now that I actually buy and use more products, I am still trying to navigate the waters of Rouge status!

I don't shop at Ulta, either, TBH. I don't like the stores, I don't like the website, I don't like the employees. This may be confined to the stores in my area alone, but Sephora is just a better choice when it comes to my own personal needs.

Ulta does a lot of bath and body stuff, and some good brands as of recent.  I got some yummy body wash by Love and Toast a few months ago.  I used to use BirchBox points to get my fave lotion.

Lately I've been getting enough lotions and body products through subscription boxes (pop sugar), which is great.  I like being able to justify sub box buys to my husband, lol.

I cannot wait until all the holiday sets start coming out at Sephora.  Especially the Hourglass blush palette!

Yes I cant wait for the Hourglass blush palette and the KVD lipsticks. I am nervous if the Hourglass blush palette will work  with me. I am NC44 in MAC for reference.

I've had my color IQ done 3 times now at Sephora - they always say I'll get the results by email but I never do.  Is there a way to find out my IQ or do I have to go in and get it done again and then just force them to not rush so I can write it down??  The last foundation I bought, which I'm kinda not sure on...was KVD Medium 54.

So I keep getting cards in my Sephora delivery packages encouraging me to sign up for special beauty advisor makeovers, since I can get them for free, and I was thinking WHY?  The people that do the makeup really aren't very good!! I mean I do get my face done here and there for in-store events if I happen upon them, but I was wondering why it was such a PERK.  It finally hit me...I'm in NorCal, their headquarters are in SF, maybe if I set up a makeover appointment in one the SF stores, they would be (ahem) friendlier, more knowledgeable of what my skin needs, and overall more helpful.  So when I changed my search to within 100 miles of me - and could see the types of services offered by the different locations..VIOLA!!  I discovered there is an actual person that is called a Beauty Advisor - not a regular Sephora employee, but someone who specifically handles the 90 minute 1:1 private makeover session with personal shopping assistance after!  I am so excited!  I couldn't find any openings for the day/time I needed for any of the 3 SF locations, so I am now hooked up with Kathryn, about 85 miles away from me (the closest one to me actually) and we've been emailing about my appointment next Saturday morning.  I am SUPER excited!

But wait, there's more! The SF stores have classes - REGULARLY - before they open or after hours and sometimes they have BRAND REPS there too!!  I'm talking every weekend I could go down there and have 2 hours of fun me-time surrounded by make-up, hair products, skin care and women who love it as much as I do!   All for FREEEEEEEEE!!  It's like the VIBRouge event - but every weekend!  So my first class is next Sunday night titled "Flawless Foundation" and described as:

Get the fundamentals of foundation down. Identify your precise match with Color iQ, then learn to find the right coverage and formula and select the best finish—matte, natural, or radiant. Along with professional application techniques, the class will also touch on concealer and powder.

I am so excited!  I also signed up for one in October that is called "Party ready Smoky Eye" and all about taking your makeup from day to Holiday Party night!  YIPPEE!  I'm so excited I can't stand it...and I'll get to see all the gorgeous displays for the holidays - SF style! Ok I'll stop my ridiculously long winded announcement, but one final comment - to you other NorCal ladies...I have 3 extra seatbelts!!  :drive:
