Does the age of this stuff make anyone else nervous? I was considering one sale Tarte set but the reviews were over a year old and even then said the mascara was already dried up.... I decided I didn't need to buy it...

I would not recommend any set if it is a mascara you're looking at the most/plan on using.  I bought the full size mascara set with the eyeshadow and brush when it was still 33$ and the mascara was dry and clumpy.  I was regularly using that same mascara, bought by itself, and never had that problem.  They're selling those same sets now, I'd bet they're all dried up by this point.  

The eyeliners I wouldn't worry about, other than if they actually work/not smudge in the first place.  

I was thinking of getting the big set on sale for 25$, but the review said they suck and smear instantly. Nooo thank you!

On another note, my local Sephoras never have any events, but I just checked and on Saturday they have the summer nail event at Sephora and the Urban Decay event at SiJCP.  The UD event says "free gift", but I'm wondering if it's just a PP (which I have tons of).
