Had this bag not lived up to the hype, I think people may have rioted. They were already very mad about having to make appointments. All this said, I still feel I ultimately did have to pay for it given I was forced to make an appointment to get it. I wrote to Sephora on Facebook, so we will see if they say anything or offer to give me back points.
For those of you who were following my comments about the Bumble & Bumble VIB event in Long Island about 3 weeks ago.... Wanted to let you know Sephora yesterday sent me a very nice thank you note for my feedback. For what it's worth, I think they really are listening to all the feedback on their entire BI program. This is evident by the note I received yesterday and the chat they had with rouge last week. It's baby steps of course, but I think drastic changes like creating rouge without having it fully planned out are kind of the reason that they started getting a bad rep.

I don't understand why Sephora doesn't do more to have GWPs so they can compete with department stores. My mom never shops at Sephora for this reason (and she spends A LOT on beauty so I'm sure Neiman Marcus is happy Sephora doesn't do GWPs). Not only do they have great GWPs from basically every brand, they also seasonally offer great gifts if you spend a certain amount across their beauty department. Those gifts are usually cute, trendy, shoulder bags full of products across multiple brands.saks.com also let's you use like 5 coupon codes on orders, so you can get discounts and tons of gifts. Sephora needs to get up to speed on this.
My hunch is that it had to do with the brands wanting to promote this sort of thing with *their* sales people. My understanding is that department store makeup counter people work for the brand (Clinique, Estée Lauder, Origins, etc.) rather than the store and make a commission. Sephora people don't.

Very good theory. The only thing is department stores typically have the same GWP deals online, where you aren't dealing with the sales people.

Just FYI so no one will be disappointed, the Cartier fragrance sample doesn't contain rollerballs.  They're just large glass tubes/dabbers - .13 fl. oz. each.  I received mine today and I love them!

Thanks for the heads-up!  Also I think there is a code for the Pantone orchid bag (similar to the emerald bag that is still available for last year.)

Plus this:

RAPIDTAN: Vita Liberata Tan Mousse mini

BOMBSHELL: Dermadoctor skin perfecting mini

I just can't imagine Sephora packed with a bunch of Gift With Purchase displays for so many different brands. The store would be very cluttered. One of the things I hate about Ulta is all the random signs all over the store advertising gifts with purchase. It's chaotic. Then when you go to check out the back area us littered with all of these random things. It just looks bad. I think Sephora knows they don't have to do these things. People are going to shop there regardless.

Subbing to this thread because Sephora refuses to send me emails

If you have 500 points and a SiJCP near you, this is the 500 point perk they have right now. You get a full size Girl Meets Pearl, a mini benetint, and mini bad gal mascara.
400

That's so weird because I definitely got that as a 500 point perk at Sephora probably over a year ago. I really hope these are new batches and not leftovers from when it was previously a 500 point perk!

My SiJCP has a Peter Thomas Roth kit as the 500-point perk. It has:

2oz Anti-Aging Cleansing gel

0.5oz FirmX Peeling Gel

0.5oz Laser-Free Regenerator Moisturizing Gel Cream

0-.5oz Cucumber Gel Mask

I love skincare so I ended up getting it.

to all the dipbrow fans out there: is this like the benefit gimme brow, but in a pot? gimme brow is 'fiber gel' and i absolutely love it. i don't need much coverage at all. i just want my brows to look even, and the hairs tamed. i'm wondering if i'll get a similar effect with dipbrow. i'd repurchase benefit's, but i always like to try new stuff! THANKS!

I just got my dip brow in this morning.  I have been using Benefit's gimme brow in light/medium, and ordered the dip brow in blonde.

After trying the dip brow this morning, hands down, I like it way more than gimme brow.  I don't know how easily it removes yet, or how it does when I get all sweaty, but looks/comfort wise it is a lot better.

I was kind of surprised when I stuck my brush in the dip brow, it looks like a gel pot liner, but it is VERY soft texture and I picked up waaaay too much, oops! lol

A little goes a long way, and it seems to fill in the brows, vs gimme brow, which just kind of sits on top and coats hairs.  With the gimme brow I felt like it made my brows too dark, with an artificial look, "too" done, and was still patchy, because it just clung to hairs unevenly and the skin in sparse spots still showed through.  If anybody is considering gimme brow and has sparse patches they want to blend in/fill in, gimme brow is not the product for that...you'll end up with build up of clumps of product or still sparse patches, it doesn't blend well on "skin" areas.

The dip brow also gives polished/done brows, but as long as you don't put on too much, it doesn't look artificial like you colored them in with a marker etc.  It hides sparse spots so skin doesn't show through, and it doesn't "sit" on the hairs like wax pencils or the gimme brow.  And the hairs don't feel waxy or coated when you touch them later, which I really like, it is very comfortable.

I don't know how different brushes react to application, but I just used my Sephora brand double ended brow brush and it worked fine.  (angled stiff brush/brow comb spooly thing)

Just a little update on Sephora's banning of online shopping.

I have been able to place orders with confirmed shipping, since the banning that followed from a successions of 6 small orders that did not go through earlier this month.

Banning is not permanent but apparently may be lifted after X period with purchasing activities that seem to restore profit generation to Sephora at some pre-determined percentage.

@FormosaHoney, I love how dedicated you are to unraveling the Sephora banning mystery! Lol....Every time I read one of your posts on this topic, I get a mental image of you secretly whispering into a microphone reporting from some dark, mysterious place!! haha

I definitely think Gimme Brow is for people who don't otherwise need eyebrow pencils or other products to fill their brows in. I naturally have very full, thick brows that are easy to shape and definitely don't "need" anything other than a nice combing, but once I added Gimme Brow, I pretty much felt my brows were perfect (bragging much? lol). Even my then-boyfriend, who is not one to notice these things, remarked how perfect my eyebrows looked the first time he saw me with it on "your eyebrows are perfect like a celebrity's" haha. Also, while on the subject, going and getting your brows shaped, at least once so you can follow the line later, is the best beauty investment you can make for yourself. I go to a girl at the Bellagio, and it's so worth it for $40 ($30 + tip). I could NEVER make them as perfectly symmetrical as she does, nor could I make the arch look so nice. If you're even a little unsure about your brows, go and get them done. It's always my #1 piece of beauty advice.

[@]ohsailor[/@] ok awesome! This is what I totally needed to hear about gimme more brow (now.. What color to use? And, thank goodness I have more than enough BB points and can cash those in!) I feel like the Anastasia products are for those who have sparse brows or are looking for some serious filling. Te MUAs in Instagram use Anastasia products often and they seriously have no/little eyebrows to begin with and come out with crazy beautiful, although clearly made up, brows. I have decently thick/full brows that get their fair share of shaping. If I want to look more finished then I'll use a brow pencil *maybe*. But that benefit product sounds awesome. I'm going to pick it up!

How does Gimme Brow feel on? Does it make your eyebrows feel sticky or stiff? I don't like the feeling of having "product" in my hair or brows (or mascara that makes my eyelashes stiff, aarrrgh). My brows are pretty thick and dark to begin with, so thankfully they don't need a ton of help.

Interesting!! I might have to try this! I also have dark and thick brows but they need a little shape. Anytime I try to fill them in even with brow whiz, I end up looking like an angry muppet, so they always just look kind of...not done, you know? But I'll take "not done" over "Bert from Sesame Street".

waa! that's how i felt! it just adds that final oomph to my brows, i thought!

@normajean2008 thank you so much for the reply! i don't have sparse areas, but i think dipbrow is definitely worth checking out in store.

@usofjessamerica get medium/deep! the light/medium is too light!

[@]saku[/@] good call! I tried swatching it at Sephora but the wands were super icky and all dried out.
