Two things.... 1. Went to Sephora today to trade in a Sephora Favorites fragrance card for some Marc Jacobs Dot. Saw the Pantone stuff and do agree, the polish, gloss and blushes are gorgeous! That nail Polish is not brown like it looks in the photos online, it is a gorgeous nude. Waiting for chic week to purchase with the 15% off. 2. They were a bit hush hush but confirmed they will be having the Rouge event on March 30th! They took me aside before they would admit it's happening (and only after I confirmed I am Rouge). She said if for any reason you don't get an email, all Rouges are welcome so there is no need to worry about RSVP if you aren't getting rouge emails. She said there will be a lot of brand reps so I'm excited for that! She didn't have much info but just said it's going to be really special. Overall, it seems like every Sephora is doing this. They seemed like they really need to keep it pretty secretive (as to not upset their non-Rouge customers, which I can understand) so if you ask your store, try to do it quietly and not around other customers. I was speaking with the manager by the way and she actually said they don't have every detail yet (even mentioned that a lot of the girls who work in the store are rouges and they all will probably get most of the details when the email goes out to them as rouges).

There are THREE standalone Sephoras in my area, and I get treated like this at *every single one*.  The only time I seem to get nearly-instant oh-hi-can-I-help-you seems to be when I go in on the weekend wearing jeans, sneakers, and a Teefury t-shirt but no makeup, and it always feels like they're trying to shuffle me the hell out of the store ASAP without even buying something, and *that* feels like they don't want someone like me to be seen carrying one of their bags.  When I go in there during the workweek, I'm dressed like the seventeen-year-old's kooky aunt who is unafraid of color.  I clearly spend plenty of money on makeup, but they still seem to want to get me without the door without selling me anything, and they accomplish this by ignoring me.  One of my coworkers -- who wears pretty much no makeup but is obsessed with high-end skincare -- went to the store by her apartment to check out some sort of skincare product and was treated the same way, so she left without buying the very expensive skincare line she went in to get.  On the up side, I do usually get left alone to swatch in peace. ETA:  Oh, wait exceptions to being ignored by employees!  I do usually get good service from the guys working.  Unfortunately, they're usually working the registers, so I still get crappy service on the floor.  Especially from one particular older woman who has actually just shrugged and walked away from me while I'm in the middle of asking a question.
For me it's a mixed bag. I've been pretty lucky lately and got excellent service today in Sephora. I shop at about. 7 different ones though, and some are definitely better than others. I was quite impressed in the store I was in today they, they had tons of sales associates on hand (I sometimes find it hard to find one), and the one who helped me was super sweet and helpful. I was asking her to make me a sample and she even went and opened another tester of something for me mid way into making it since the tester ran out out of product.

My store said (natick, ma) said that they would be opening extra early for a private rouge shopping event and that they would be serving breakfast/drinks with fun events and brand reps. She even told me they were considering shirtless men (which I doubt will actually happen but I'd love that) so I'm pretty freakin excited and I don't even care about chic week anymore if I get fun freebies and stuff at this event. She didn't say freebies but if they're serving breakfast and drinky drinks I bet that there will be SOMETHING.

Ugh the Dedham salespeople are my worst nightmare. My boyfriend knows more about makeup than the sales associates I've met there.

some of them are good.  Some are just awful...

If you're making a purchase any time soon, I'd definitely snap up some of those Dennis Gross 100 point samples. I tried my first sample and it didn't seem to bother my sensitive skin and I can already tell a difference after one use. Also, the pads are pretty spendy, so the sample is a $9.00 value.

Thanks for the tip! I hope they are still around during chic week. I'm trying to avoid purchases til then.... Although I might give in sooner since there is a code I want to use.

My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday by buying the large size Nirvana Black perfume that I've been wanting! He didn't use my beauty insider card, though, and it was like $80. Do you think if I call the VIB line with the receipt number they would add the points to my account?

Yup! I've had better luck/it was 100x easier to IM the sephora Facebook team. When I called in missing points I feel like they asked me a bunch of questions lol. They will need time/date of purchase, location (address) of store, and item info.

It worked! They responded and added the points in literally less than 10 minutes :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> thanks for the suggestion

I saw that Too Faced has a bronzer palette coming out with their summer collection and it's already available at Ulta...anyone know if or when we will see this palette at Sephora???

It features the chocolate soleil, snow bunny, sun bunny bronzers. I really want a bronzer palette in my life, this sounds great!!
I saw this palette in person at my Ulta yesterday. It's GORGEOUS!! Almost bought it since they have a GWP right now also...but I just bought a full size Milk Chocolate Soleil and just don't use bronzer enough to justify an entire palette.

I got my Caudalie Premier Cru deluxe sample last week and started using it. My face HATES it! I have broken out so terribly.

It's a bummer because I REALLY wanted to like it.

I tried the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance serum as part of a Caudalie 100 pt perk and it definitely broke me out. I've had good luck with some of the moisturizers but I'm staying away from their serums...I wonder if others feel the same??

For the past week or two I've been using the Tarte Maracuja Oil deluxe sample as a serum in the morning and at night (under a moisturizer). I have to say that I am loving it and I think it is making my skin more radiant. I have barely made a dent in the .23oz bottle sample (I use 3 drops per application) and I am considering getting another one of these samples while they are still available with an offer code. Totally worth it. I'm not sure about getting a full size yet...I think it would take forever for me to get through and sometimes I lose interest in a product if I have it too long. Does that happen to anyone else?!

I can also get bored (mainly because I love to try new stuff), but I've found my skin appreciates it much more if I stick to a retiming and don't change things up. Even going off-regime for a day or two can cause me breakouts. I too have fallen in love with an oil as a serum for night time only. I love the Boscia Tsubaki Oil. Thinking about trying the Tsubaki mask during chic week. Thought about trying the cleanser too but I'm pretty happy with my current cleanser (First Aid Beauty Red Clay Cleanser). I only use the oil at night though. It leaves my skin radiant and actually makes my pores less visible which shocked me since it's an oil. It also doesn't cause my breakouts!

Wow! That stinks on the breakouts. I like it, it feels so luxurious. But, I don't find it any more effective than some others so definitely can't justify the price. I did have the Sephora sales associate make me a sample of the Caudalie Premier Cru Eye cream though and wow, i have only used it one time (this morning) but damn was I impressed. Let's see how it goes over several days (and towards the end of the week when I will get less sleep) before I shell out a hundred bucks for it.

Ugh, I need a new eye cream and I am not looking forward to shelling out the money for a good one. I just got through an entire Boscia one, but it was pretty unimpressive in terms of providing any additional benefits beyond simple hydration. Definitely not willing to spend more that $50 on something just for my eyes! I'll take recommendations from anyone!! I looked at the Boscia oil you're using...it comes as part of a kit I might pick up during Chic week. I love skin care kits!! I have just normal skin that behaves itself, so I don't have issues with changing up skincare. My main issue is dullness, particularly in winter, so changing it up is great for me!

Maracuja oil's actually just passionfruit seed oil, which you can buy for cheap in a lot of places, as long as it's cosmetic grade! I think any kind of pure oil like the Tarte oil or Josie Maran argan oil is just a worth of money since they're literally the same as any other options. Ofc, when it comes to mixed oils like Fresh seaberry or Boscia Tsubaki oils then it's a different story though.
