@normajean2008 if you don't mind, which shades do you have?

No problem.  Here are the colors I have.  I also swatched pics for them.

First Row: (the top or left side between the two pictures...left to right/bottom to top)

        3 Brun Cachemire

        5 Rouge Vintage

        6 Camel Croisiere

        7 Corail Aquatique

Second Row: (the bottom or right side between the two pictures...left to right/bottom to top)

        18 Rose Pastelle

        26 Violine Surrealiste

        27 Pêche Cerra-Cola

        29 Rose Forreau

Number 18 wont look good on anybody who can't wear super pastel milky pink color lippies, it is very light on the lips.  But if you can wear that type of color, this is a great one!

Number 7 and Number 29 are pretty close in color, with 29 being slightly more pinky peach base vs. orangey peach based.  They are different enough on my lips that I wanted both.

I love Number 3 for when I want something kind of more dramatic, without being super dark and vampy, or in the red family.

Number 26 is pretty close to one I don't have, Number 16, but is slightly more subdued in brightness of the purple.  Number 16 is very popular and pretty, but it is more *BAM, your wearing PURPLE* vs. *Wow, what a pretty purple*...if that makes sense.

I have also tried the Number 8, which is a bright orange/red.  It had a dye I was allergic to and I had to return it, but I'm SUPER sensitive to orange and red dyes in lip products.

I've been wanting to pick up a true red, but I haven't been able to decide between two of these colors...and now I'm waiting on an order with the Shiseido glossy stain sample, so I'll try those out first to compare.

------------

I'm too lazy to quote again.... But Jeaniney...  I hope you are one of the lucky ones with the cheaper version!  My *personal* opinion (and I know others may not agree) is that the Loreal version is like a Toyota, the YSL like a Lexus.  Same company, different levels of luxury and wear... To me, the Loreal version feels very thin and streaky/watery, but after 3-5 layers to get the true color it felt like I had cement/glue on my lips, or spackle... and the YSL feelt thicker, gel based and smooth.   But some find the smell of the YSL too sickly sweet, or too sticky...  I think the Loreal is just as strong smelling, but I like the YSL scent better (to my nose it is like a summer fruity cocktail drink type of smell), vs strong floral of Loreal.  I'm of course not the ultimate authority on Glossy Stains, but these are my opinions on them, or rather my picky-ass-lip's opinion, lol.

Also, anybody trying those free sample cards to try these stains out--- they are a good representation of them, but the applicator is really key on how they look on your lips.  The sample applicator is NOT as good as the real applicator and it sucks up a lot of the product and it doesn't go on quite as smoothly.  I find using the tip of your small finger a better applicator for the free sample cards.  Don't be stingy in application, but don't glob it on at once.  Start with a normal gloss like layer first, wait a minute, apply again if needed.  More you add, deeper the color and longer the staying power.  I've never needed more than 2 coats for any of my 8 colors so far.

This is great info, thank you! Especially re: the applicator on the sample card

Can't wait to get mine!  Also if you might be a Glossy Box sub...

I hope that GlossyBox will offer a YSL testers as per their FB teaser!!  Or I'll be damning GB 'till the end of time for yet another 'fancy' marketing move.

this is all so helpful! i took down some notes for the future! thanks!! i appreciate it a lot. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Glossbox said that pic is "is simply a post highlighting some of our favorite gifts  However the Lauren B Beauty is included in the February box!"

I doubt that YSL will be in the box.

Anyone looking for something to make an order, this might be a good contender.  They are normally $10 and warm weather's 2 months off.

I just tried my YSL gloss sample from sephora & I like some aspects of it & dislike some aspects of it. Dislike: The smell. I don't know why, but I really dislike the smell of these glosses. I've never noticed my lipsticks, stains, glosses, etc ever having a smell to them, but I definitely noticed the smell of these. Sheer: these colors are very sheer on me. I think they are supposed to be that way, but I thought they'd be more opaque & pigmented for some reason. However, they would be brilliantly gorgeous over just about any lip color. Likes: Glitterific! Holy gorgeous glitter (almost holographic) on my lips. I love the sparkle Not sticky. I think this is one of the less sticky glosses I've tried. Still on the fence. I don't think I'd pay the full price for these bad boys, but they are very sparkly & pretty.

the 'normal' glossy stain that we are discussing don't have glitter/shimmer in them. and very pigmented. i'd def recommend giving those a try as well. i have an impression that those are almost completely different things from the rebel nudes.

and yes, the ysl glossy stains have a grape-like scent. but it goes away pretty fast, i think.

The VIB lip trio promo came in a really nice bag! (I included a lip balm for size comparison) The lippies were also in their individual box packaging inside of the bag.

It's so ridiculous. I don't like lip glosses at all, but I always have to mentally reprimand / remind myself of it whenever I see the adorable minis. Seriously, glosses get some of the cutest minis.

So, I got my order from last week yesterday and already love the Maracuja Oil. Thanks for everyone who suggested it. It actually saved my skin last night. Part of my order was the Origins Active Charcoal mask, which really dried out my skin to the point that I was worried I would end up with an oil slick the next few days due to compensating oil production. My regular moisturizer wasn't helping, but about 5 to 6 drops of the Maracuja Oil (I was that dry!) got my skin back to a comfortable moisture level. My face still feels a bit tight in parts, but I think I definitely avoided a full-on disaster.

It goes without saying that the mask is going back. =

Also, if anyone doesn't like pinks, I would be willing to trade for some brighter lippies or anything else you might be interested in!

That makes so much more sense. Everyone was talking about how pigmented they were & I was so confused. I will definitely need to try the stains you are talking about because I love stains, especially if they have real staying power! These are the Rebel Nudes Glossy Stain that I have & I have to say, they're staying power is pretty remarkable for a gloss & I love the glitter! N103 is my favorite of the 3 samples.

Hi Ladies,

Has anyone used ELLIS FAAS foundation or concealer? Looking for a new foundation for my oily skin, although I have my acne under control (yea!) I still have discoloration from past acne. This foundation is $$ but if it's awesome then I'm in.

Also any color suggestions? I'm a Mac nc43, MUFE 153, Hourglass honey/beige, Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H 420 bisque w.

Thanks for bringing that up!  I'll be sure to 'prime' my applicator with the ligthest tinted gloss I've got first, so as to not have the sponge 'eat' my YSL sample!

Is anyone loving the Fresh Life rollerball?  I've already received 2 compliments on it since I received it yesterday afternoon.  I love citrusy scents and (on me) this dried down to smell like oranges - yum!  My co-worker did walk in today and say, "It smells like oranges", I'm not sure if someone was actually eating oranges or if it was just my Fresh Life perfume!
