Has anyone else tried the Formula X The Foiled look (effect??) polish? I swatched it today in the silver and the pink silver. It's SO PRETTY. I love it. I really do. But, I noticed it says like "one night wear" or something on the box. I was kinda bummed. It's been 4 hours since I swatched it and it definitely already has serious tip wear and I haven't even done anything tonight! It also says to not use a topcoat with it because it will ruin that mirrored/foil effect. It's still pretty though! Not meant to be for me. If anyone else has a recommendation for something similar let me know.

Oh but I love it.  Why must it wear so quickly?

Stop using your hands! you are ruining the pretty!!  I like it, but yeah the practicality is not there for me.  I saw this is Sephora today, but I'd heard about the "one day wear" issue

Speaking of Sephora, I popped by there today and I picked up the Tarte Matte Palette, Marc Jacobs Eyeshadow Trio in Ingenue, and NARS Eyeshadow Duo in Silk Road.  So I got 5 shimmery neutrals, 6 matte neutrals and a blush.

This Tarte Palette is gorgeous (BTW -  it was sold out at my Ulta, otherwise I would have used the 20% off coupon on it). I mean, the packaging is stunning.  In the past, I've passed on their sets because things feel so bulky, and the packaging wasn't great, but everything about this new palette screams expensive, and its so reasonably priced! Swatching the shades in the store, they were all so high quality. Same with the other eye shadows I got!!  I must play with all the new things!!

Same. I swatch on my hand but there's NOOOO way I would even let an SA use anything on me that some randos may have used without proper protection even if they did spray it with alcohol!
Haha, the alcohol is enough to appease me. Only happened once and it looked like it was a new display too. =p my face lived to tell the tale sans leprosy or some other disease lol.

I only have one Sephora close by, and they definitely don't carry all the products that they have online.  How do you feel about the Bite crayon consistency? I'm pretty sure my Sephora carries a few Bite products, but the selection is more limited than what is on the website...so frustrating!!

Have you used the NARS matte lip crayon? How do the formulas compare? I love the NARS crayons, but I've been favoring the Satin lip pencils over matte.
To be honest, I've always hated bite beauty brand.  It has always split my lips and made them burn.  I don't know if they changed formula some, or if my lips just changed, but I can now wear their lipstick.  Out of curiosity I tried these matte crème lip crayons because the bright colors caught my eye.  I didn't get the burn feeling like normal while in the store, so I went ahead and bought it.  Glad I did.  The colors on these are SUPER bright, but a nice bright, not too garish.  After a few hours, if you don't re-apply then they just slightly calm down on the bright level.

I have the Nars matte pencils too, and I like them, but they feel more "filmy" on my lips.  They are matte, and light weight, but still feel like a mask of sorts, if that makes sense.  Like my lips can't breathe.  I find myself wanting to put gloss over them because they are not entirely hydrating feeling from the formula.  Which is understandable since they're matte, which is why I don't usually like matte, lol.

I like the formula of these new bite crayons more so than the Nars matte pencils.  It goes on super light, and it doesn't dry out your lips (as long as you prep with some chapstick like I already mentioned).  I don't feel like reaching for gloss to top it.  The colors are much more limiting than the Nars though.  They feel like a soft satin formula, and wear a lot like one...but look matte.

As bright as they are, they sure are flattering.  I got 3 compliments just on the way to the check out when I tried/bought it, and another lady had tried the purple (grape) one and was getting compliments too.

So from somebody who has always hated the brand previously, and hates matte formulas 99% of the time... I think these are awesome.  If you have a color you're eyeing, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.   And apparently people online are saying they are limited edition.. I'm assuming if they do well they'll expand the line, or maybe release new colors later.

we must have been at the same Sephora JCP! lol

unrelated - i was browsing the very same Sephora JCP and watched a girl do her entire face of makeup and not use one single applicator - i mean she put on the lip liner, eye liner lip gloss all of it straight from the tubes....SO GROSS!!!
UGH!  My eyeballs hut just reading that!  I'm FAR from a germaphobe, but eyeliner!?!  Head explodie!

The only thing I'll put elsewhere than my hand is lipstick... and I take that to the cleaner spot at the end of the isle and sanitize it as best as I can, and swivel the tube up more and use the disposable spatulas to scrap a clean area away to put on my lips.

I did get a impromptu makeover once, with a bunch of benefit products.  I made sure she sanitized them in my view before they were put on.

I always hate when I need to see in the mirror, and some chick is putting a full face of makeup on and hogging it.  Sometimes with the proper sample disposables, sometimes not.  I swear I see the same girl in the Sephora at the Americana putting her FULL face of makeup on every time I go there (Saturdays or Sundays).  Too cheap to buy anything I guess, lol.

Temptalia's swatches are definitely unreliable. I still look at her swatches just to get a general feel of the products since her blog is always the first to pop up whenever I search for everything, and she has clean and nice photos which show colors clearly (as opposed to, say, Musings of the muse), but even some of the swatches on her hand look really off. Disappointing since she specifically says she tries to adjust every photo to get the true color.

I like to look at Teptalia's blog for general reference, but I can't go by her for a product I plan to put on my face.  Regardless of her skin tone, it seems she puts waaaay more makeup on than I do, so it never looks the same.  Her lighting is also not right a lot, in my opinion... Her swatches lean a lot more warm than most other photos I find online.

I do like her quality of pictures and angles though.  I don't have to worry about shadows changing the colors/tones.  I like musings of a muse blog too, but the angles she poses in, especially for lip products, is like the worst ever.  She tilts her head down so far, the colors are never accurate on her person, and tend to look the same over and over.  Her arm swatches are the most helpful.

I worked at SiJCP over the holiday and died a little when I saw people just glopping makeup on. The felt tip ended liners and the lipglosses with wands or mascara especially made me cringe.. I don't see how those could ever be sanitized. We had one new hire that grabbed a bare minerals blush/face brush (aka everyone and their dog runs their hand over it to feel how soft) and she would put blush on. I'm like aaahhhhh! The germs! I would use lip products, but only after I put alcohol on a tissue and then wiped it off and then did it again. I felt that was safe.

I'm rouge and I've gottena  few make-overs.  I do stay away from liquid eye-liners and with the lipsticks, the SA actually told me it's best to dunk the lipstick in alcohol and then gentley shake off excess.  She'll remove a thin top layer off with spatual then dunk.  I was trying on a Bite kit of 6 colors and I did this with each one first.  Last thing I want is lip disease...

My Sephora in JCP was out of the skin set as of yesterday. She said they didn't get sent a bunch of them. When it is a good deal they only get sent small amounts. They did have a sephora gift bag if you applied for a JCP credit card whether you were approved or not. It had a few fragrances, the Nirvana White and Prada Candy. It also had packets of Skin care products, a Mineral Veil powder and a very nice sized deluxe sample of the Roth Laser resurfacing serum.

Haha sorry! Typo :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
Thought so, but you never know when they might start sending different codes to different shoppers (BI vs VIB vs Rouge) I looked through the samples in each bag and I have to say that it's nice each one seems to have 2 of the newer fragrances, several of the usual suspects from the last year, but I have to admit I'm a little baffled by the choice to include a men's fragrance in each. With so many men's cologne samples available I the last few months I guess they are hoping every Sephora shopper buys cologne for their man this Valentines Day! I'll be happy if they start toning it down on the man-centric samples by the end of the month...it's been a little out of hand. Personally, each set has too many repeats of perfumes available in the last month or two as a free sample, deluxe perk or gift code for this to be tempting to me. For me, the best fragrances launched at Sephora in the last year are the Nest collection, which are almost never offered.
