Thank you ladies for the compliments, and I hope the swatches help some.

Also, I said earlier I bought the new bite beauty matte lip crayon the other day.  For those that like soft matte lippies, these are fun and pretty comfortable.  They don't last through meals really, but they are easy enough to quickly swipe a bit more on.  I find that a good layer of chapstick rubbed into lips, and excess wiped away after a few seconds provides the best canvas for these crayons.  Other than eating wearing it off, I find it stays on for several hours at a time with no touch ups needed.

There are only 6 colors, a grape purple, coral red, coral orange, Barbie pink, neon pink, and a medium pink.  The coral red is "Blood Orange", which is what I ended up buying.  After swatching the coral orange (Clementine), and Blood Orange, I figured if I'm going to go for it, I might as well pick the brighter of the two.  It is only marginally brighter though.

It was too busy to swatch all the colors on my hand in the store, but here is a picture of Blood Orange applied.

That is such a soft pretty color, and it looks AMAZING on you!

I only have one Sephora close by, and they definitely don't carry all the products that they have online.  How do you feel about the Bite crayon consistency? I'm pretty sure my Sephora carries a few Bite products, but the selection is more limited than what is on the website...so frustrating!!

Have you used the NARS matte lip crayon? How do the formulas compare? I love the NARS crayons, but I've been favoring the Satin lip pencils over matte.

Interestingly, I was JUST reading this thread, which deems Temptalia's swatches "notoriously unreliable," even for those with her skin tone. It doesn't surprise me at all that they look different on you, but I wonder if other MUT members have noticed this?

Temptalia's swatches are definitely unreliable. I still look at her swatches just to get a general feel of the products since her blog is always the first to pop up whenever I search for everything, and she has clean and nice photos which show colors clearly (as opposed to, say, Musings of the muse), but even some of the swatches on her hand look really off. Disappointing since she specifically says she tries to adjust every photo to get the true color.

Christine is actually my same skin tone, and I have been using/looking at her swatches for about a year now. She's always on point for me, never let me down. Wouldn't know what to do without her.

I've had very good success looking at Temptalia's swatches, buying a product, and then comparing it in hand after the fact.  If anything Temptalia is a super-human unbelievably reliable source.  Seriously, she's a machine.

In the instance of that thread, the swatches of the products were taken on different days, probably in different lighting.  I agree that the Radiant Magenta swatch is probably off (her skin looks more washed out here, I think the lighting is washing out the color also, from youtube videos, this blush is deeper, brighter than Luminous Flush)...the Luminous Flush swatch is exactly on point (I can compare the product I have with her swatch). Also, the amount of veining in the product varies, so I wouldn't be surprised if there are subtle color variations between products (I also do not think that particular swatch is accurate anyway).

Back to talking about Sephora....There is a Tarte Lipsurgence on sale for $12 (only color is Joy)...I missed out on the set at Xmas so I picked this one up to try out the formula which it seems like a lot of people love.  Anyone else have any experience with this color/formula?

Also, Sephora rotates their sale inventory on their website All. The. Time. I mean there is stuff in there that lingers forever (I'm talking about you Hello Kitty and Pantone products...) Good stuff seems to be in one day, out the next.  Anyone else have a great Sephora sale find online?  The sales are at my local Sephora leaves a lot to be desired...I have yet to find anything I want, and a lot of the stuff looks junky or like it might have been opened previously.

I have Joy from a Birchbox forever ago-- and it's such a favorite of mine! I wear it whenever I can't decide what to wear or when I forgot lipstick (I never leave home without it!).  It goes on with a pinky/peach gloss, and tints a really lovely pink.

I love temptalia for swatches. I'm hoping the JCP Sephora's come up with another 'favorites' type set soon. Those that work there, please report if you see any!

Is the 5-piece choose-your-own set for $29 (the one that had BOTH Glam Glows to choose from!) still going on, does anyone know?

I stopped by my SiJCP tonight, and they do still have it. Very slim pickings though. No Glam Glows, Ole Henriksen, PTR, Algenist. Only some Murad cleansers, Strivectin, and Josie Maran argan oils.

we must have been at the same Sephora JCP! lol

unrelated - i was browsing the very same Sephora JCP and watched a girl do her entire face of makeup and not use one single applicator - i mean she put on the lip liner, eye liner lip gloss all of it straight from the tubes....SO GROSS!!!

People at the sephora I go to do this ALL THE TIME. It's mostly teenagers and I just want to yell at them that they're going to contract an eye infection. Anything I try goes ONLY on the back of my hand, then immediately removed with alcohol. Too germy for me. Yuck.

Ugh, that is so gross, saw the same thing at the MAC counter tonight.

Anyone know what Sephora does to sanitize their makeup testers (if anything...).  One of the "perks" of Rouge is that you're supposed to get free makeovers, right.  Has anyone done this? they use the testers from the store for the makeovers, right? do they clean them? If so, how?  Just curious as a microbiologist...

That grosses me out. I only swatch on my hand. And I'll let the nice SA lady apply a powder with her clean brush. (That's how I ended up with Too Faced Chocolate soleil =p )

Same. I swatch on my hand but there's NOOOO way I would even let an SA use anything on me that some randos may have used without proper protection even if they did spray it with alcohol!

Has anyone else tried the Formula X The Foiled look (effect??) polish? I swatched it today in the silver and the pink silver. It's SO PRETTY. I love it. I really do. But, I noticed it says like "one night wear" or something on the box. I was kinda bummed. It's been 4 hours since I swatched it and it definitely already has serious tip wear and I haven't even done anything tonight! It also says to not use a topcoat with it because it will ruin that mirrored/foil effect. It's still pretty though! Not meant to be for me. If anyone else has a recommendation for something similar let me know.
