I just bought this kit for $159, it comes with a nail color of your choice.

I placed my order and then noticed that I was actually charged for the nail color. So I call customer service to be told that they way it works online is that the nail color is added as a promotional code. So when I checked out and entered my 10% off code from the VIB welcome packet it voided out the free nail color. So I've now paid for the nail color thats supposed to be included in the nail kit for free. The rep said that there is nothing that she can do, and oh she'll add 100 points for my trouble. Which is nice, but I've now paid $17.50 for a nail polish that's included in the gel colour system and is supposed to be free. I'm pretty frustrated with the reps lack of concern or willingness to help me get back the $17.50 that I paid
kind of off topic here - but you can get gel systems for much less than that!  I bought the sensationail kit at walmart (also sold at Target and Walgreens) I believe for $40 and it works great, Red Carpet Manicure is another with great reviews and can be found at Ulta for about $65. You can use different brands of gel polish with different systems too

yeah i'm thinking of just returning the whole order now after my talk with customer service. I was so excited to see all the great promos on this thread but such such crappy customer service really makes me rethink shopping with them alot this holiday season. Sorry, I know its a bit off topic. Was just excited to take advantage of the great deals and ended up being peeved at Sephora. I'll definitely look into the brands you mentioned. thanks!

Hopefully you'll get your $20 off $50 code soon! If I was making big purchases like that so close to the end of the year, if I could - I'd wait until January to buy so I can requalify for VIB right away!

I've just become a VIB!! I guess i'm dumb but i never realized the great promos and codes available. I've always just purchased from Sephora in store. I'm planning on buying a Clarisonic and the Sephora Gel nail kits. What are the best codes and samples available right now? I'm reading through the thread but it seems like there are so many different things available. So far these are the codes i've found. If i'm understanding correctly you can only use 1 code per order? What would you recommend that i use suspense, blitz, VIBSPREE, I also have a 10% off code that came with the vib intro packet,

That stinks!

I am hoping to buy the Formula X the System w/my $20 off (if I ever receive it) and it has the "free polish" too.  I wish I could just get it in-store because I'm afraid I'll end up paying for the "free polish" like you did.  But, in-store it's always sold out.

Thanks for the heads up anyway!  I'm going to make sure I'm not paying for the polish online or just not get it.

there are great promos (check the beauty talk forums on sephoras website) there's a list of all the point perks that are still active too!

a few girls had that issue with the Sephora X polish kit during the VIB 20% off sale a few weeks ago.  If you really want it, you might try calling customer service again and speaking to someone else.

On Facebook yesterday they had a code for a DIOR lipstick or a DIOR nail polish compliments of "DIOR" the code was FBDIOR I used it to get the deluxe sized lipstick.  I hope that it's not too tiny. lol

Did anyone else see or use this code?

Does anyone know if we'll be able to use the MerryMini code more than once?  I'd like to get a couple of the perfumes and one of the minis, but if it's a "one time only" code, I might wait to see if something I'd like more comes along.  I don't see anything on the site suggesting that this is "one per customer" but thought maybe someone would know.  Thanks.

Totally agree with usofjessamerica on the strategy of delayed spending.

[disclosure: some geek verbiage will be in use here...]

If you are able to use the $20 on the gel and other products to meet the $50 spending requirment, I'd do that.  On the Clarisonic purchase, if you don't mind waiting, pull the trigger on that one in 2014 and use the 10%, you'll save $10+ or use one of the product codes if that brings you more utility points in happiness.

Generally I save any % off for a sizable purchase, where the happiness point of money saved exceed the happiness point of coded freebees.

For the 2013 purchase of gel+ using the $20 coupon for a $50 purchase... your best bang for the buck is probably blitz or suspense (we don't know the latter's contents yet).  The VIBSPREE is a a genrous code, but of the 3 codes it carries the least monetary value, but...  monetary value is not always the best determinent of what makes you happy.  I think the VIPSPREE is 3 Benefit products and if Benefit makes you do a little happy dance, then that could be the one for you.

Yup, I love blitz, Suspense wasn't working at the time that's why I used VIBSPREE. Cute stocking stuffers :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> If you can get blitz I loved that one I got 2 bags before I couldn't order it anymore.

Huh! I didn't even think about that! Waiting probably would have been smart to get requalified for the next year. I jut became a VIB, now that means I'll be one until the end of next year, right?

Yes definitely make sure you check. Apparently you can't use any promos with the order because it cancels the free polish (even though its technically not a promo and an item included with the kit)

I missed that, was Sephora able to do anything for them when they had that issue?

Thanks for the advice. I did place a separate order and was able to do the blitz code at least. I hadn't realized that $15 and $20 coupons were on their way though. I'll have to figure out if I should just cancel the order and wait to reorder, or maybe order a few items and wait till 2014 to order the rest.

This is going to sound a little petty, but I'm pretty annoyed. About 2+ weeks ago, Sephora was offering I Love New York For All as one of their three free samples. This is one of my favorites and I had holiday gifts to buy anyway, so I made four or five orders. None of these were "small" orders, really- the smallest was $15. I didn't use any promo codes because none appealed to me, and just as an aside, even though I'm Rouge and Flash, I never use the "two-day" shipping. Why? Because it takes 4-5 days to get to me anyway STILL. So, I go with what their cheapest (for them) shipping option is all the time. Now as some as you might remember, I quite twisted my ankle (seriously, it was the size of a grapefruit for 3 weeks) so I was in constant pain (I'm allergic to almost all Rx painkillers) and just didn't feel like opening them. I know, long-ass back story for a small payoff, but...

I finally opened them today. Only one of them contained a sample of the I Love New York. And I'm not talking about there being subs- I just got two in every other order. I am 99.99% sure they had them in stock for all of the other packages, since I ordered them all at the same time and they were still showing up as available samples for the next day and a half. I swear it was like they did it in spite.

Before this banning debacle, I would have written/called and complained. Now, I'm just lucky those orders didn't get me banned, I guess.

Sephora is going downhill, fast.

Oh, also, last month while my fiance was in town, I decided to get him a trio rollerball set of fragrances from a brand he loves. I checked online to make sure my closest Sephora (Town Square, Las Vegas) had it in stock.

I looked and looked and didn't see it anywhere. I asked one of the floor associates if he could help me. He said he had never heard of the brand and that Sephora DEFINITELY didn't carry said-brand, at all. I quickly pulled out my phone, went to Sephora.com, and showed him that not only DO they carry it, but they were supposed to have it in that very store! He looked mystified and looked around the store like a lost puppy. Finally, he asked the MANAGER.

"We don't carry that here." So, I showed her how the site said it was in stock in-store (very politely, I'm too meek for my own good at points- not that I'm saying this situation called for me to be rude, just that I'm too meek to be aggressive even when a situation warrants it). "Why does it show it on the website, then?" and to make sure they knew I wasn't upset with them, I added "this is just bad website management, then- totally not your fault."

The manager then asked the other associate to check in the back of the store just in case.

Guess what? They had it. I think this is another perfect example of the left hand not knowing what in the WORLD the right hand is doing over at Sephora. They have been slipping more and more faster and faster. It breaks my heart as I have been shopping with them since the first one arrived in Vegas and have been a BI since 2003.

So even though my bday was Sunday, I just got a birthday email from Urban Decay for a free eyeliner with purchase, I was putting off ordering the original naked palette on Sephora because I was waiting for a promo code. I figured the full sized eyeliner for free was better than the cyber monday mystery sample bag which might be samples I may never use. Just wanted to share lol (my fiance is getting the palette for me for christmas, I just had to order it because hes computer challenged and makeup challenged lmaooo)

Hi! I placed an order for the formula x polish set during the VIB 20% off special, and had the same problem. I called customer service, and they told me the free polish with the kit was like using a promo code, and couldn't be used with any other promo code, such as VIB20. The rep told me to call after I received my order and they would give me a refund on the nail polish. Hope this helps!

My no-buy starts now.......
How were you able to get a total of $24.00?  The max was buy $50.00 and get $20.00 off, so it should have been at least $30.00....unless they didn't enforce the 50.00 rule.

They didn't enforce the $50 rule. And my order shipped this morning

This. I have the Sensationail kit and love it. Sometimes I find the gel polishes on clearance for $4-6 dollars at Walmart. I hate how hard it is to remove the polish though.

I don't know if they changed this since I ordered, but I was able to order the x polish set and get the nail polish free as well as use a promo code. It took off the price of the polish as promotion discount.

Yeah, I haven't received a gift card from Sephora, and I was wondering if I even would since I never receive mail from Sephora.  I honestly don't remember if I got a gift card last year through email.  I know I shopped last December though.

I wonder if I don't get mail because the nearest Sephora store is over an hour away from where I live.

On my settings page online, they ask for my zip code to receive news about in store events etc for my "local Sephora."  There is no "local Sephora" anywhere remotely close to my zip code, lol.
