Maybe on Cyber Monday ...

I've been waiting since 11:50 PM EST for these supposed $20 deals.  Does anyone else feel like they're in an abusive relationship with Sephora?

they advertised them for saturday & sunday. & some girls on fb were asking & they said first thing saturday morning

So I've been checking Facebook for several hours to see if I could get some update on the $20 deal situation.  Whoever is regulating Sephora's FB page just removed a comment that had approx. 40 replies.  None of these comments were offensive in any way.  Most were just expressing genuine frustration at poor customer service and Sephora's recent problems, including the poor handling of the Black Friday sales.  I don't really have much faith in a company that tries to delete their problems away.

I was told I can still shop in stores and use all my points, collect points etc I'm just not allowed to shop online anymore. It's frustrating and upsetting because some beauty advisors were saying my account is active online too ( not sure if it means anything at all) because my recent orders never went through... Cancelled by sephora...so the final person I had spoken with on the phone was quite mean and rude, whilst I remained calm and said I'm sorry again I didn't realize I had broken the rules etc and at this point I just wanted them to confirm to my credit card company that those orders got cancelled (the payments got deducted from my bank account) So I think my account is banned online. First I was told I placed too many small orders... Then I was told they suspect I was a reseller... Why on earth would anyone spend so much money on expensive stuff and resell for more.... I loved the items I purchased on sephora and yes I occasionally liked to order a couple of each items for a back up product or gifts for family and friends. Is it a crime? Did I shop lift? NO. I have never gotten in trouble for anything in my life. I always play by the rules. I'm shocked and annoyed because no other retailer has treated me this way, at least inform us by email or phone with one solid explanation in stead of throwing bits of information at us in the hopes to get us off the phone ASAP. That's exactly how I felt. Now I know sephora don't like it if you order multiple items and use promo codes more than once. Why don't they restrict codes, and why don't they put a minimum requirement on call orders and why do they have options for people to check out with up to 10 of any one item! If sephora reinstated my account online I would never use a promo code more than once or order more than 2 of any item I want or gift item to family and friends, I would place orders of $25 or more.... I don't mind if they monitored my account because I have nothing to hide. And above all I won't be spending as much money as I did before.... I doubt they would call me a reseller than! However.... I doubt sephora care.... And thus I'm not happy to even set foot in their stores.

Also, girls, share your stories on Consumerist. That's a great idea. They should pick up the story and that will get it attention. Just write an email and tell them exactly what happened. Edit. Oh, God- the girls who were banned but told they could shop at the store- did you lose your points?? If your Membership is revoked, any points in your account will automatically expire. http://www.sephora.com/terms-conditions?mediaId=14600020
No I still have my points. I see them when I log in.

Hello, another banned Rouge member here.  This is just so ludicrous I don't know what to do.  Part of me wants to forget about them and never give them another penny, and another part wants to report them.  My story is the same as the others, I spent thousands of dollars in the last year, both for gifts and for myself, never used a gift card.  I placed a large order that came damaged and had to take it to the store to exchange it and that's when they banned me. Sephora has to be the first company in history to ban customers for spending too much.

Oh phew, I am so happy for you!! It has to be because your membership wasn't revoked, you were banned online. But again, how does that make sense?  This obviously can't have anything to do with buying duplicates, just using the promo code more than once (which has NEVER been a problem before). I would say small orders, too, but no one banned has done that.

Is this really coming down to promo codes? If it is an algorithm taking different things into consideration, you'd think you'd have your membership revoked and be banned from the store altogether if they suspected you of fraud.

Or, the promo thing is the excuse they're giving because said algorithm is haywire and they have no real idea, just guessing. Also, as I said, it seems to skip some of us and not others- unless it's a matter of time.

I was really excited for the $20 deals and the $20 off code, but now I'm terrified TO BUY FROM THEM. How wrong is that??

Again, I'm so sorry this happened to you.

Also, lol @ Sephora deleting anything negative.

Wowo- just a question- did you have a receipt? And did they ban you while you were in-store or did you not find out until later? The "no receipt" thing isn't a judgement btw- not even close- we're truly just trying to figure out what's going on with it.

Oh I know there's no judgment.  Yep, I had a receipt.  There was nothing shady about it at all.  Next thing I know my orders are cancelled and I finally insisted on talking to a supervisor who said that they suspect my orders aren't for personal use.  I would buy multiples of things for my friends, gifts, charity, etc.  They also said I had too many short shipments (I had NONE) and too many returns (Out of probably 150 orders, I had this one with the problem and two others - both of which I exchanged so they could see the damage).

I just keep thinking about how uneven it all is, about the girl who posted pics of all her 20+ boxes from Sephora in a single week, said she makes an order at least 1-3x a day, and had 25 of the same UD eyeliner. She said she always always orders multiples. She's Rouge. I really don't think there's any rhyme or reason, just an algorithm that rolls the dice. I wouldn't be surprised if sooner or later those that have been lucky so far aren't far from a ban. It's obvious they haven't updated since they put Rouge in place. Girls, whether you're Rouge or not, be careful with the multiple items and promo codes.  Like someone else posted, I thought we were being scared at first. It's undeniable now.  Seriously, think about it- this has all really taken off in the last 1-2 months. What gives? Why now? Or are customers just finding a place finally to talk about it? http://community.sephora.com/t5/VIB-ROUGE/MY-ORDER-WAS-CANCELLED-AND-I-WAS-TOLD-I-VIOLATED-POLICY/td-p/856655
I think MANY MANY more people are affected now as it's the holiday season and we're all scrambling to purchase gifts; hence, more orders and ultimately, THE BAN!!! I read the replies on the link above and the affected people are Rouge. That thread is SO going to mysteriously disappear!!! Glad I got a chance to read it now!!

ME!! I'm bruised all over.....SO, I've decided to leave Sephora FOREVER!!! They ban me, I BOYCOTT them. I'm spreading the word to my family and friends too. They will most likely take caution when shopping and will definitely think twice before buying from them. I can't believe I was once so loyal to them that I even shopped at their overseas location (both in France and Italy) AND they didn't even offer points nor accept out BI cards!!. This is turning out to be a huge mess......Girls who are also banned, I feel for you. Perhaps we can share ideas as to which places OTHER THAN Sephora have great beauty items!!! I'm staring to think I need to make a trip to Europe for my beauty fix!!!! LOL

That thread is now gone.
SERIOUSLY?? My gosh.......what in the world.....it's only been up a few hours.... SO, let me get this straight. They don't put the money and time into REALLY determining who has or has not REALLY violated anything, BUT they put money and time into hiring a bunch of people to delete negative threads????? They're SO smart!!! If they spend time and money into doing things RIGHT in the first place, then there won't be negative comments (or at least not so many of them)!! They've got to find and solve the problem, not simply delete evey one that comes up!! This is SO not cool.........the only words I have for Sephora can not be expressed on this site.......

Reading all of this is just making me sadder and madder. I am very close to giving up on Sephora myself. I just may return my items anyway and just call it a day with them. I don't feel comfortable giving my money to a company that chooses to treat good, if not excellent customers suspiciously and so easily accusing customers of fraud of all things. If my en mass returns don't trigger a ban I am still going to boycott sephora. There are many other fish in the sea, perhaps Sephora would do better to remember that they are not the only game in town!

my one order from yesterday morning is still in the warehouse.   I just read on the sephora community that a member's order was cancelled 2 days after she ordered, so now I am a paranoid.  sigh.

****** (excuse the French here) Customer Service, Sephora.

I am feeling the same about an order that I placed yesterday. It has taken the last shred of enjoyment out. Now we have to actually be afraid to order or wonder if they will see fit to ship our orders? I for one refuse to be subjected to this. It is beyond ridiculous!

I'm with you. I'm already banned so it wouldn't matter if I returned all my items anyways! With so many people being banned, why hasn't Sephora figured out that something is wrong????????
