isn't the coupon linked to our vib/vibr/bi accounts? so you'd only be able to "give it away" if you were shopping with the person you're giving it to, right? i could be wrong.
I'm sure there's a code of some sort you enter online. OR, that person can print it out and present it in store. But, I wouldn't know. Besides, I'm already banned from online shopping. Sephora is dead to me. So, I guess it really wouldn't matter to me if they used the coupon in my name!! That is, IF I decide I shouldn't BURN it!!!!!!!

its so sad to here all these horror stories. i can assure you, the people working IN the stores wouldn't treat you guys like criminals the way these hotline/corporate people are treating you guys!

i just don't get this banning thing. you're just as likely to resell the ONE item you're buying, as you are when you're buying SIX items.

Got shipping notices on the first two orders hours ago. Nothing on the third yet.....interesting.

I read a theory somewhere that perhaps Sephora is giving customers this year to qualify for Rouge, and then next year they will start with the real rewards, so no one feels like they misses out. I sure hope that's the case.

mine is still in the warehouse...

I am concerned, because 3 of the items I have in my order are now sold out.

that kinda sucks.  So the folks that are on Rouge now have to wait for others to play catch up?

Okay, I can see why that theory would be floating around but that really seems like an incredibly bad marketing decision given that they're actually alienating the highest spending segment of their customer base. Wouldn't it make more sense to actually build antici...pation by making people want to strive for Rouge because of all the cool perks they see it offers? And those people who acquired Rouge status within a month or two of it being instated are the demographic that retailers avidly court because that small segment is influential and has a sales effect disproportionate to their actual purchases. Rule of thumb is something like roughly 10% of your customers are responsible for 90% of your sales. (Buzzword trigger warning, y'all) Ticking off the early adopters and influencers is just not a viable methodology to optimize revenue stream, sustain a growth model and hold your high-end market share. In sum, Rouge is failing and failing hard. I suspect they're re-working it for next year but I doubt they realize how much they've fumbled this & I'm pretty sure their efforts to recuperate it will therefore be underwhelming.

that kinda sucks.  So the folks that are on Rouge now have to wait for others to play catch up? That, or wait to be banned!!! The Rouge status is meaningless. I'm banned online and they say I'm welcome to shop in store. What a joke!! What kind of perks do I get in store? Absolutely NOTHING........ So basically, they advertise and make all these promises of what Rouge has to offer and once you hit Rouge, they cut you off!! SO MAD......AND, other than being able to get free shipping on a few orders which were under $50, Rouge has given me NOTHING, but FRUSTRATION...... >__

I buy the return merch/gift card cards off of Cardpool and Raise to get that extra 10% or so off - so whenever I make a Sephora purchase, it's with GCs or store credit cards...even though I only return a handful of items during the year (<$100 worth).

I have also bought multiple items (6 of the same...in 5 separate orders) because...frankly, I wanted the points and the deluxe samples. My parents were going abroad and wanted the items as presents because they're not available for sale in Taiwan.

I'm VIB-R, and I'd say about 20% of my purchase dollars are on my CC. The rest are with GC or merch credit that I then used to buy GCs with in-store so I can use them on Sephora.com (does that make sense?)

And I'm still able to order things on my account. My orders are all >$25, except once I ordered a $1 bodywash packet so I could get a sample that I reeeeaally wanted.

Oh, and I was able to use BLITZ more than once...but not anymore.

I've super sensitive eyes and don't wear mascara or if I do...  usually end up removing it within a few hours.  The subs have been great for brand testing as is Sephora.

I applied a Chantecaille from a sub box from way-back-to-when-I-can't-remember.  I'm a bit shocked that it smells fine, almot fresh, rosey (it's made with rose water) and it's not causing the expected redness and itching.

Only thing is that it's $70 (and isn't carried by Sephora).  Can anyone recommend a brand that's worked well for sensitive eyes?  Specifically a brand that Sephora carries?  I so would like to wear mascara but am so not into handing over $70 for it!

I still haven't opened my full size Tarte from GB yet...   It's so gorgeous and I don't want to just use it once and have to toss.  Though I understand that Tarte is all natural and extra gentle?

No! Don't tell me it's good. I've been eying those pretty palettes forever and they donate to causes. I just can't justify the price. I'll just pretend you said they worked awfully.

OMG it's the best I've tried!  I keep pulling it out and smelling it and it seriously smells like roses and not chemically like other mascaras.

Yeah, me too I can't justify the price either.  Seriously, that's an entire week's of grocery for me!!

I just keep thinking about how uneven it all is, about the girl who posted pics of all her 20+ boxes from Sephora in a single week, said she makes an order at least 1-3x a day, and had 25 of the same UD eyeliner. She said she always always orders multiples. She's Rouge.

I really don't think there's any rhyme or reason, just an algorithm that rolls the dice. I wouldn't be surprised if sooner or later those that have been lucky so far aren't far from a ban. It's obvious they haven't updated since they put Rouge in place.

Girls, whether you're Rouge or not, be careful with the multiple items and promo codes.

Like someone else posted, I thought we were being scared at first. It's undeniable now.

Seriously, think about it- this has all really taken off in the last 1-2 months. What gives? Why now? Or are customers just finding a place finally to talk about it?

Also, girls, share your stories on Consumerist. That's a great idea. They should pick up the story and that will get it attention. Just write an email and tell them exactly what happened.

Edit. Oh, God- the girls who were banned but told they could shop at the store- did you lose your points??

If your Membership is revoked, any points in your account will automatically expire.

I tried a Chantecaille Faux Cils Mascara from a box and it irritated my eyes. I wear 2-week disposable contacts and even after putting in a fresh pair several days later I still felt like there were grains of sand in my eyes. My optometrist inspected the inside of my eyelids and found bumps were developing there but didn't know the reason (other than that I might have to stop wearing contacts or switch to dailies). Finally I switched the mascara for something else and my eye issues were gone. I use Buxom Lash and Buxom Lash Waterproof without any problems. I can wear my contacts all day without any problems now.

Everyone's sensitivities and allergies are probably a bit different though; I've never had redness caused by a mascara, just from getting stuff like eye creams in my eyes accidentally. And I'm guessing you've tried Buxom already. If you haven't then I recommend it!
