Ooooh I feel ya! One time I got a sunburn on my face when I went skiing and it was so bad, I literally had a layer of blisters on my face. It was terrible.

Apply cooling Aloe on that!

jennifer, i'm sorry to hear abt your sunburn. i know aloe vera gel is good for that.

if it gets worse see a dr.

Black women falsely believe that we don't need sunscreen. I would say 90% of the women I know don't even buy it. I never even knew where the sunscreen aisle was. Last summer mysteriously my entire face started to peel, I didn't even know I had sunburn. After tons of Noxema, and much exfoliation I was back to my regular skin. What a lesson there!

thanks so much, everyone

i had no idea there were so many remedies for burns, so i'm noting down every single thing you all said, so thank you!

Oh ouch! You poor thing! You look awesome in that tube top, not fat at all. I hope it heals quickly and it's good to hear you're already feeling better. I second (or third, or however many it's been now) the Solarcaine. It's perfect for when you get out of the shower and your skin is itching like crazy.

Also, my "special" treatment for sunburn is to use the Olay regenerist serum (fragrance free) since it's supposed to repair damage and increase the rate of cell turnover. No idea if it really helps, but I haven't peeled from a burn since I started using it.

5 hours?!

I start turning red after only 20 minutes of direct sunlight, I'd look like you in about an hour or two! I can't imagine 5 hours!

Anyways, I do hope that heals up soon! Definitely looks painful to me!

I was looking for some sort of "ouch" smiley, but this is all I could find:

that's brutal Jenn, looks painful, i hope it calms down soon. i did a silly move this last week. i did use sunscreen all over but for some reason i missed my elbows. i have no idea how i did that or if i was rubbing them on the table i was sitting at out in the sun all day. anyway now my elbows are flaking off badly, like in sheets! nothing i can do about it and they hurt! its so embaressing, its just the elbows and nowhere else!

I know some people that recommend using Paul Mitchell's Awapuhi Conditioner spray. I had a really horrible sunburn with blisters last summer and this is what I used. It helped a lot! It also helped with the peeling. I also took a bath in epsom salt. I also recommend vinegar. It really helps take the sting out of the burn. Oh and you are not fat at all!! You are lookin' hott in that tube top!

Holy crap! I knew you were hot but this is something else.

Sorry but I gotta do this...

bad bad girl... sunscreen is your friend!

Here are some tips I found to soothe your sun burn.

1. Bathe or shower in cool water to bring down your overall body temperature. Soak for 10 to 15 minutes.

2. Peel the skin from an aloe vera leaf and gently lay on the burn. Or, apply 100 percent aloe vera gel to soothe the pain and promote healing.

3. Aspirin, ibuprofen or acetaminophen can ease the stinging and swelling somewhat (see Warning).

4. If your legs or arms are sunburned, keep them elevated.

5. If your eyelids are burned, place chilled, damp tea bags over them to soothe them.

6. Sleep in loose-fitting pajamas or nothing to reduce pain.

7. Stay out of the sun for several days while your skin heals, or at least keep sunburned body parts covered up with a hat and protective clothing.

8. If you experience blistering, fever, chills or weakness as a result of your sunburn, contact your doctor. Do not pop the blisters or apply lotions or gels to them.

9. In the future, follow the "slip, slop, slap" rule: Slip on a longsleeved shirt, slop on some broad-spectrum sunscreen (15 SPF or higher), and slap on a hat and sunglasses whenever you're going outside, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., when the sun's strongest. Use 25 SPF or higher if you'll be exposed for an extended period or are fair-skinned. Reapply sunscreen liberally every 1 to 2 hours (more frequently if you are swimming or sweating).

By the way, you are still gorgeous!

Oh dear.... Yogurt does help a lot. Another option is an Aloe Vera Gel with Lidocaine, I think. And, I agree with the ladies, you are not fat!

Do take care.

Holy crap! You need to aloe vera yourself, pronto!

I hope you get a good tan out of it though.
