excuse my fat. i never wear tube tops anymore since gaining weight, but my body was in SO much pain, even a loose spaghetti strap hurt! i couldn't sleep and i couldn't even put my seatbelt on in the car!

please don't do what i did and WEAR SUNSCREEN!!!!!!!!

aawww! you poor thing!

I've only burnt once in my life.. but it was a tiny little burn, so i can't give you much advise, sorry..

But I hope it heels up soon!!
smile.gif

And you're not fat! i can't believe you said that!

Ohh!! Ouch, hun, that looks so painful!! I've only been burnt like that maybe 3 times in my life, so now I slather sunscreen on like crazy. On my honeymoon in Acapulco, I put tonz of sunscreen on my face, shoulders and neck but forgot my legs. Let's just say that, um, hindered our honeymoon activities!!! LOL!! P.S. you are not fat at all!! You're adorable!

OMG...I just read about your sunburn in the FOTD forum. I thought you were exaggerating when you said you´re purple. in the 1st pic it looks like you really are.

oh man I´m so sorry!!!!! I hope you have stuff to put on at home...if not plain yoghurt out of the fridge always helped me, it really cools your skin. but it looks like you´d need some healing lotion too

well one good thing...that definitely taught you a lesson, right?

OUCH! I'm sooo sowwy!

I saw your away message on AIM this morning was, "Putting aloe vera on my purple body" or something like that and thought, "Uh oh!"

Aloe vera is good but i've always had greater success with calendula lotion for bad burns. Run to the health food store and get you some soon! Boiron is the brand of the one I use. It also comes in an oinment.

Yeah, you are not fat at all, Jen!! You are still beautiful even when you're purple and you look hot in a tube top! Hubba hubba!

Awwww sweetie first of all your not fat at all.

Aloe will help prevent any peeling and a wash cloth soaked in vinegar will help to take the sting out. Be sure to take some OTC pain reliever for the pain.

I won't preach about using sunblock.

Aww Jen! I'm so sorry you're in pain, hun! If you have something with Aloe Vera in it, put it on! And stay away from sun for a few days!

Well the sun is just not what it used to be. I never got burned in my entire life - being a child of Mediterranean; until last year due to my stupidity, but it was just a minor burn.

And for the next time PUT ON SOME SUNSCREEN!

Edited to say: You look gorgeous! And you're not fat at all!

thanks, everyone

i felt fat because the tube is a small size and was pushing my "fat" up LOL

andi, how funny. does everyone know about yogurt or is it a european thing? my family does the yogurt thing ALL the time and i was gonna do it because i remember my mom used to put it on my bad because he always burned, but it's too messy lol

lisa, i'm definitely gonna check that lotion out for next time because for now, my body's calmed down. i went to the beach 2 days ago and i couldn't even move my arms, but now it's much better, but i'm definitely gonna remember that for next time (if it happens again). thank you!

gwena, won't vinegar sting?! i did take some OTC aspirin because the first night i actually felt sick, like i was gonna throw up. it was horrible

it made me feel lots better, though. thanks!

maja, i will LOL i really think the sun isn't what it used to be, either.

the next day after the beach, i went to target and bought aloe vera and i keep it in the fridge, so it's helped.

omg Jennifer

) u silly goose, besides the sunburn ,the tube tope looks hot on u in the 1st pic

ouch ... it looks painful .. i hope u get better soon sweetie .. mwauh!! (soft, kiss, hee hee )

Nope the vinegar shouldn't sting at all unless you have an open wound or blister.

I'm glad that your doing better now. Bless your heart it sounds like you had a bit of sun poisoning.

yeah it´s really messy but if you happen to have nothing else at the house I still use it.hm could as well be a european thing, Aloe is not that widely available here but everyone usually has yoghurt so that´s what we use

thanks, kim

gwena, okay, i'm gonna give the vinegar a try til i get the lotion lisa recommended. i don't think it was sun poisoning, either, because i had sun poisoning when i was in croatia and it was nothing like this. i broke out in like, hives, all over the place and had to get a shot in my ass when i went to the ER LOL

andi, ohhh, okay. i have yogurt because my mom made some albo food yesterday, so i know we have it. thanks!

Hives? Yikes! Sometimes a nice shot in the rump truly is necessary. Not fun, but necessary.

In case your not able to find the product that Lisa recommended you could always stop by a tanning salon and buy some California Tan Insurance or a drug store should carry Banana Boat's Sooth a caine which has aloe and lidocaine to sooth the burn. The DS would be a much cheaper solution. That and you can always pick up some sun block while your there.

(Sorry I'm teasing you now)

I worked in the tanning industry for awhile so forgive me if I'm being a know it all.

Smooches sweetie. I hope you feel better soon.

Bless you!!! hope it calms down soon. xxxx

I did this last year, I was like 'I'm gonna get a tan today, no sunscreen.. nothing' sat out all day in the sun and burnt my nose and alot of my body. Luckly it calmed down quick but I wont be doing that again.

Oh you poor thing being burned sucks. Do you go into a nice tan afterwards? I'm glad you're feeling better, and you look fine in your tube top what are you trip'n on? I hope you get to go to the beach a ton more and it sounds like you won't be forgetting sunscreen again so have fun girl!

a know-it-all is what i needed right now, so thank you for all the tips! oh, and you're allowed to poke fun at me. i'm so stupid for doing this and deserve it LOL

katie, sorry to hear you burned, too! i'm definitely not doing this again lol

ashley, it's only been 2 days, but it BETTER turn into a nice tan LOL

Whoa! Sorry about your burn, Jen! I use Kool-Down Burn relief products with lidocaine! If you can get your hands on that, you'll feel much better! I hope it it turns into a tan for ya and I hope it does it fast! I remember being burnt like a lobster about 10 years ago in Panama City. Ever since then, I've worn super duper sunblock until I built up a base tan. It usually takes about 4 weeks (4 weekends) for me to build a base tan and then I drop down to SPF 8.
