What do you use to exfoliate?

Per my dermatologist's recommendation, I wash my face each night with Cetaphil soap and a Buf Puf sponge. This both cleanses and exfoliates my face! (I have very oily skin prone to clogged pores.)

Most drugstores and Wal-Mart will have either the Buf Puf, or a generic-brand version. For example, here is the Walgreens store brand:

Or the Buf Puf brand from drugstore.com:

My dermatologist recommended that I use the Regular and rub very, very gently; however, I usually buy the gentle because that's the only thing I can find in my local stores.

I personally LOVE Paula Begoun's AHA Glycolic Acid. It is very effective and has great ingredients in it that work! Plus, it is not expensive at all! Maybe $15? Lasts forever!

Either a microfiber cloth, baking soda with whatever cleanser I'm using, or cornmeal w/ whatever cleanser I'm using.

I bought a microfiber cloth from mineralbasics.com and it doesn't seem to be doing much for me. I'm not sure if I am supposed to be using it every day or how much I should be scrubbing with it. It did not come with directions. I am using it about 3 times a week. I have been having a lot of flaky patches.

Last night I used a scrub with sea salt, sugar, olive oil and clear aloe vera. It left my skin very smooth. The olive oil seemed to stay on my skin after I rinsed.

Same happens to me with my coconut oil especially in the mornings so moisturizing is optional after exfoliation

Currently (until it runs out) I'm using DERMA E microdermabrasion scrub.

It's pretty pricey (I think I bought it for between $30-$40 cad at Whole Foods although they now sell the Derma E line at Walmart for cheaper.)

Anyways I find this really works well, although it can be a bit rough if you scrub too hard. You have to scrub for at least 3 minutes to get good results. I love it!! Really leaves my skin glowy and verrrry soft!

I'm also using Mary Kay TIMEWISE MICRODERMABRASION SET (also $40 cad about). I have not used it yet, but I have read rave reviews on this.

I was using the L'oreal Refinish Microdermabrasion kit until I discovered their men's version which has virtually the same ingredients but at a cheaper price!

It just doesn't come with the Vit E lotion but thats fine since I prefer to use my own regular skincare afterwards anyway.

Seems like us women almost always pay a higher price for things. We get charged more for haircuts, skincare and stuff like that grrr.......... :kopfkratz:

:dito: it's not harsh at all and I love it!!! :rockwoot:

St. ives apricot scrub I use every once in a while, but I find it's much harsher on my skin.
