I tried the Neutrogena Microdermabrasion kit for my face and the first night it had my skin breaking out, so I haven't used it again. I don't know wether to give it another try or not. For my body I use TRUE BLUE SPA I'm in the mood for a scrub it's from bath and body works and smells really good. I got the body one for ingrowns that I got after waxing. I've been using it and it's been really good, but I haven't waxed since.

I broke out for a week when I first started exfoliating. At first, I was concerned, but then realized that the whole process takes off the dead skin layers, so I figured all the old oil plugs were coming to the surface and releasing themselves. After that, I saw a beautiful difference.

I guess you are right, but it's hard for me to exfoliate when my skin is under control, I don't want it to get worse.......I guess I will have to exfoliate when I don't have a busy scheadule.

I mix about a tablespoon of baking sods in the palm of my hand with liquid cleanser or Dove and massge my face. Don't rub to harshly or too long or it will burn. I also use the aspirin mask--a mixture of finely ground uncoated aspirn and water. Leave this on for 3-5 minutes and rinse well. It contains salicylic acid, a natural exfoliant.

I have dry and sensitive skin and if I use a regular exfoliator my skin goes really red. I use Kanebo silk peeling powder, it's ideal for sensitive skin and I love it

I've been using the good ol' classic St. Ives Apricot Scrub. It's been a favorite since I first started using it at 15, and got the job done. But I've just switched over to the Gentle formulation, because my skin has started to feel dry afterwards.

I use a muslin cloth too - i never thought about it as a mild exfoliator tho!

I use baking soda too, except when my skin is all broken.

I use baking soda & water paste, apply to face then I use a double, soft-head, electronic toothbrush to exfoliate, works great. It gets rid of the blackheads on my nose and chin. I am ordering aluminum oxide crystals to add to my Diacneal soap free wash by Avene for a GOOD exfoliation.:icon_idea

(I read on skinbusiness.com,doctors primarily use bs for scar revision

microdermabrasion procedures.)

I love Dr. Brandt's microdermabrasion in a jar!! It's a bit expensive, but really works even with sensitive skin like mine. Good luck!!

I also use baking soda and /or the olive oil and sugar. I also use an electric high speed toothbrush (e.g. sonicare or the Crest spinbrush) for exfoliation.

I love, Love, LOVE Dermalogica's Gentle Cream Exfoliant ( it is a mask like chemical exfoliator rather than a scrub) and find it is the only one ( and I have dozens) that leaves my skin reallllly smooth for a couple of days after, not just a few hours after using it. You apply after cleansing like a mask and rinse off in 15 mins.... super smoothness... however it does tingle till it dries...as it becomes drier it ceases to do that but there is no getting away from the fact it does. It's probably not very aptly named "Gentle" .... but it is very effective if you are not overly sensitive :)

I use Avene's Gentle Exfoliator!! Very good for sensitive skins! I have dry and very sensitive cheeks so it does a good job without being harsh!!

Hi,

I love Dermalogica's Skin Prep Scrub.

I am using BURT'S BEES Citrus Facial Scrub. It has a gritty, cereal texture that some people may find too coarse for the face.

I go to a holistic facial aesthetician and she uses organic products which I find similar to this facial scrub.

One thing I learned is to gently scrub the mixture onto my face in a circular manner, directing it outward my face.

Keywords: scrub lightly and gently....

It totally works for me.

Goodbye blackheads and dry flaky skin.

Update: I returned to my derms reccomendation, Johnson & Johnsons Buff Puff or a soft facial brush.
