I love the sleep it has notes of lavender and cedar it can be strong use just a tiny drop on your pillow case. I find it relaxing. I work night and sleep days so it can be hard for me to fall asleep I have sort of trained my mind to shut down when I start to smell this. and since you use so little and I don't seem to have to reapply every night as the scent lingers on my pillow case about 2 or 3 days. My sample has lasted a long time.Originally Posted by Xiang /img/forum/go_quote.gif
Received these in the mail today. I forgot where I heard of this brand, it might have been though these forums. These items smell really nice though kinda strong, not necessarily the typical floral, fruity type of strong scent. It's more woodsy, I guess? It's hard to describe, haha, since it's not the type of scent I'd usually smell in typical mall stores. Gonna follow the Sleep directions and try a bit of the Sleep scent on my pillow tonight.
The brand is called Essence of Vali and their signature scent is E.O.V (the pink sample).
You're right, it does last a long time. I only put a little on the edge of my pillow and I can still smell it now. It's been hours. The scent reminds me of something but I can't place it. For some reason, I thought it was Mentholatum last night but that's not it at all. I have a feeling this is going to bother me until I figure it out or give up trying.Originally Posted by nikkimouse /img/forum/go_quote.gif

What did you get from Dr. Brandt?Originally Posted by Annakayy /img/forum/go_quote.gif
Came upon this thread last week.
Emailed my first companies the 22nd and yesterday came home to a full stuffed mailbox!

Paula's Choice
I've gotten a few no's and that's okay. But although company's arent required to send samples out, it would be a good idea especially since everybody's skin is different and we need to try it out before investing.
Thought I'd put together this list of what I have so far to help others out.
So far I have contacted 83 companies.
49 have replied.
33 have said YES
I have received samples from 14 companies.
All in all, pretty good so far.
Yes!! The "CEO", Lisa, told me she'd send samples and a "coupon code". I got my samples, but no code. When I emailed back to tell her I loved the primer and wanted the code, she responded with the code. Then 15 minutes later she sent another email telling me she responded so fast because she was "emailing and driving". The emails were terribly poor grammer and horrendously punctuated. If we're "besties" sending text messages, that's one thing. But you're the "CEO" of a company, and you promote emailing and driving and send emails that look like a 5th grader wrote them. I adore the primer... one of the best I've ever used... but I'm not impressed with the professionalism. (Note that yesterday, two days after emailing her regarding the code, I get an email asking if I've received the samples....Originally Posted by Annakayy /img/forum/go_quote.gif

On a less strange note, I got my Mario Badescu samples yesterday. I tried the strawberry face scrub, and my face is so smooth and glowing. Definitely investing. So far I've gotten samples from:
Mario Badescu
Caldrea
Mrs. Meyers
Living Proof
Malin + Goetz (love the detox mask!)
LaFace
Juice Beauty
One Love (purchased for $4.95... awesome!)
Macadamia
Aubrey says they'll send.
Man Science
Ursa Major Men
I've had a few no's: Strivectin, Ahava, Jack Black
Haven't heard back from John Masters.

My goodness, that's unprofessional.
Me too and I was told no by Caldrea as well.Evidence of "depends on who reads your email" -- Supergoop told me no samples and directed me to a $10 "sample kit"... Hope y'all have better luck!
My understanding is that La Face is a very small company that has unexpectedly grown by leaps and bounds in a short amount of time. It seems like Lisa is trying to answer all email requests personally. It was good of her and La Face to provide you with samples of their products.Originally Posted by tnorth1852 /img/forum/go_quote.gif

Do you have the contact info for No. 4 hair care? I can't find it on their website. Thanks!Originally Posted by Tigerlilly6309 /img/forum/go_quote.gif
Just came back from picking up my mail at the post office. I was really surprised to see a package from Number 4 Hair Care. I was even more surprised after I opened the box and saw 6 travel size bottles. I got 2 ounce bottles of 2 shampoos, 2 conditioners, a mask and a styling cream.
I had emailed Number 4 a couple of months ago and received a nice email reply stating they would send samples about a month ago, so I was surprised to see the package in my mail today.
Yesterday I received samples from Jurlique, Oribe, Agave, Hermes perfume, and Aubrey. Aubrey has previously sent me a number of hair care samples, so I was surprised to see another package from them. This time they sent me quite a few skin care samples.
I used the bar of soap from Aubrey this morning, and its really nice - very moisturizing. I really like Aubrey Organic products. Its a brand I probably wouldn't have purchased if I didn't receive the samples.
I haven't emailed any sample requests in about a month, so I think this should be the last of them.
I emailed them a few months ago, so I don't. I must have gotten the email address off their website though, or it might have been an online form on their website. It was definitely off their website though.Originally Posted by leelee82 /img/forum/go_quote.gif
