What companies have you gotten samples from?

Did you ask all these for specific products? I see some makeup brands here so I'm curious as to what they sent.

Actually I did not for the most part! I just moved to a really small lake town here in Florida, and I honestly do have to find a few good companies or just one to order online, since any store that would have what I want would be at least an hour away, so I let them know this. Typically I just ask them if it would be possible to send me some of there best sellers, unless there is something in particular I want to try.

Jane Iredale sent me 2 mineral powders, a tinted moisturizer, and a mascara! I did have an issue with the mascara packaging busting on me, and my foundation was way too light, so being the awesome company they are they KINDLY sent me another mascara and the correct foundation shades. I WILL be ordering from them!

Glo Minerals also sent me two pressed mineral foundations that really impressed me, enough that I will never buy PUR minerals again! They also sent a ton of skincare samples!

Koh Gen Do sent three liquid foundations in little paint pots, and a few skincare samples I have not gotten around to trying yet.

Lauren Brooke Cosmetics sent me two mineral powders,a mineral veil, a bronzer, and a dab of lip gloss.

Color Science sent me skincare,primer, and foundation foils.

Kjaer Weis sent two liquid foundations, an eyeshadow cream, and a bronzer.

Beauty society sent me a nice sized fragrance sample

Also, I forgot to list Studio Gear who sent a primer, and a mascara, I loved both!

I have requested samples from Eve Lom and Becca cosmetics.  After several emails back and forth I have received two foil samples of primers from Becca that came fedex!?!  Also, three foil samples from Eve Lom UK.

Honestly, with most companies it's all about luck. Depends on which cs rep you get. Also on how you write your email (don't sound like you're just looking for free stuff, be polite; sometimes even a joke might work to loosen someone up). Bigger companies and very small, family companies are less likely to send out samples (bigger companies don't care or say they stock at Sephora {to which I respond in truth: I never go to Sephora because of distance and the "nearest" one has terrible customer service} and smaller companies don't have the funds all the time). You can try in a few weeks again, maybe you'll get lucky this time.

On the whole, very few have given me a straight-up NO, and all but one who refused were pretty nice about it or sent/emailed a good coupon; but then, I really haven't tried much in the way of makeup firms other than Napoleon Perdis (who BTW just sent me an outstanding little package full of foundations, treatments, and two cute-as-heck little lipcolors!) I usually mention my husband's very severe allergies and eczema, which are so bad that my personal products can cause him to break out on short contact. (Before we got married, I had to toss enough lower-end mineral makeup, which was flaring him up worse than the grand finale on any given 4th of July, to have outfited a small army.) I typically rely on samples and sub boxes to determine what makeup, perfume, and body products I can use without sending the poor man into orbit, and have found some astonishingly good products that I will return to--I just stocked up on some Nest rollerballs at Sephora after having been sent a generous serving of spray vials, and DH escaped Allergy Hell; and as soon as I can find out where to get some Napoleon, their primer is mine!

Jane Iredale- said they would send a foundation after I took a skin test. The lady was very nice. she even metion that she thinks that sampling is a great way to "experience the feeling, texture and colors of products".

Crabtree-Evelyn- didn't say what they were sending

Napoleon Perdis- didn't say what they were sending

Vbeaute- some things from skincare line

Color Science- said they'd send sunforgettable(idk), primers, and sheer cremes

Moody Sisters- Gave me a coupon for a free sample off there website

I have received nothing yet. I got a no from (not including my other one i posted)

Kate Somerville-  None at this time, told me to go get some at there nearest store which btw is 5hours away:/

Glo- No, "you can see them at a retailer" they told me

Benefit- No, they have them at Brow Bars sometimes.

Bare Minerals- Only with orders

Whish- don't have any at this time due to high demand

Perfekt- I can buy a "sample size" gel for $13 dollars

I can't wait until I start getting things

Really? I never got a reply they just sent it. How ever Bare minerals was actually really nice and probably one of the best experiences I have had. It really depends on who you talk to so try again. The products I recieved I could tell were discontinued, but who am I to complain. I actually really liked the loose powders and went to order some of their recent shades.
