So I've had a lot of luck with the various companies mentioned above, have gotten quite a few samples so far. Nuxe sent a bunch of foils today, Jane Iredale and KohGenDo are coming.

I had a great exchange with Kate Sommerville through FB today, their sample thing on FB wasn't working, they were having technical problems so I messaged them, we talked for a bit and "to thank me for being inconvenienced", the rep said they'd send me a kit from their office. Yay, hope there's lots of stuff to try.

Thanks to everyone who's taken the time to write these extensive list!! You rock.

One question...how in the world is anyone getting through to Oscar Blandi? Never heard back via email!

I'm not sure about oscar blandi either but for kate somerville I just went on the website all they gave out was a 3 foil packet anti aging or acne kit.

Hmm, I spend quite a bit of time writing out my emails! Maybe you aren't writing in a way that makes you look genuinely interested in their products?

Here is what I wrote to Paul & Joe. Something short and sweet. : I live in Maine of the United States, and was curious of your products after one of my favorite my bloggers mentioned a good lipstick of the brand.

Sadly there are no stores in my area that sell your products! I don't mind spending more on s&h for packages to come to me as long as the product is good, but I have never tried the products to know.

So I was curious on how I may obtain a few samples?

I just want to make sure the products are good with my skin type and color.

I went through their original website and this did not happen to me! I have no idea why that is happening to you. They contacted me back within a day and said they'd gladly give out samples.

Did you go through their main fashion website or their main beauty website? I asked through the beauty site and was told no.

 
I would post a list but it is all the same companies that have already been posted in this thread. And I don't think there is a secret to what your email says when asking for samples. I think sometimes it's just whoever is reading your email on whether or not you get samples. I doesn't make sense that some get samples and some don't. What I DO think makes a difference is if you have a blog - they will tend to send those people samples to be reviewed on your blog. So for those of you that have one - awesome!!

Another thing I have noticed is that if there company is in Macy's or the like - they tell you to go to the counter. Same for some of the ones in Sephora. Not all of them but some. It just seems hit or miss for me. But I have received a lot of samples from the mentioned companies. And I have a good assortment from those to chose from who I will purchase full size. I really like Jane Iredale and wouldn't have tried them without the samples. Same for Nest, Redflowernyc, Napoleon Perdis, and Studio Gear. So it's a big PLUS for those who do give samples. If you have found products that you will now purchase full size because they sent you a sample- let's promote those companies here and on other threads/SM!!

 
Yes, I think it depends on the person. But I think the way you write the letters are important to! I got lazy at one point and wrote a couple sentences to a few companies and they all said no the day I did that. I mean it could be coincidence, but the way you write your letters also seems to hold significance. 

I have a blog, but I have also found if you mention counters not being in your area (I mean obviously if there really isn't any in your area)  It really helps.

Anyway I don't mention the blog too often because it's a tiny one and I don't think companies want their products on tiny blogs.

 
I just got my Becca package they were really generous. Also there were a lot of companies that I didn't recieve a package from so I emailed them and they said it was sent about a month ago. They offered to resend so make sure if you don't get it to contact them. I don't even understand how neostrata completely messed up my address I live in Ohio and they put down a totally different address in california.

 
I am still getting things. I have gotten my Becca stuff as well, got a palette of numerous shades of foundation, highlighter and tinted moisturizer.

I got my EL stuff and three others. Still waiting on a bunch of companies though. Really excited for Paul & Joe.

 
New company benefit cosmetics. I emailed them but never got a reply. A week later got a package in the mail with a porfecessional, and they're real mascara. You guys should definitely try!
