My hair is like 10cm past my shoulders when its straight, when its natural and curly its above my shoulders and it looks horrible, so until its longer i won't be having it natural; but when its just wavy its stilla decent length; does anyone know how to get nice waves without using loadss of heat, the french plaits don't really work for me, and when they do they dont hold whatsoever because i have to blow dry my hair sort of straight and then do the plaits otherwise it makes my curly hair just more of a curly mess :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I wish I could help with this more.  But I can only think of heating style tools.  If you are a bit on the no-side regarding heating tools, maybe some heat taming spray would not cause as much damage, if any at all.  I use the Tresemme Heat Taming spray but there is a wide variety.

Try Herbal Essences mousse. It's called tousle me softly i think. Anyways, I shower at night, then get out and left my hair halfway air-dry. Then i put in the mousse and sleep on it. Run your fingers through it in the morning to loosen the curl a little bit. This is what I do every day, and it would probably work for you, unless you have super tight curls.

I can have major curls or pencil straight hair depending entirely on if I brush it before its dry, If I want curls I simply toss in CHI silk infuser with my finger tips and fluff, or blow dry it straight and flat iron the ends.... my only idea is to use rollers either sleep with them in or dry your hair with them in, you can also get many setting products that don't require heat I have Paul Mitchell freeze and shine super spray for dry hair and Sensiscience structure foam for wet!! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

My hair gets more wavy/curly as it grows. I just cut it to past my shoulders.

In order to manage it, I blow dry it straight.

Or to dry with a nice wave, I put it into a tight french twist and secured with clips.

Then I let it air dry.

In either case, I use a Garnier Fructis cream before styling and follow with a Got2b serum once hair is dry.

I have naturally curly hair and the curls are much tighter when I blow dry it with a diffuser with my head upside down.  If I want more like beach waves, I just run mousse through my hair after I wash it and let it air dry and, poof, I have looser curls.  If I don't put any products in my hair like mousse or gel, my hair is too frizzy.  If I want it straight, I have to blow dry it straight and then use a flat iron over it.  I know you don't want to use much, if any heat, but the only other way I can think of getting loose curls/beach curls is through a triple barrel weaver curling iron. Or many other methods with curling irons, or wands. Or you can use those sponge rollers and sleep with them at night.  Try it with dry hair with big rollers and try it wet with the big rollers and see if either method gives you the look you are wanting.  HTH.
