beauty break right now! I happen to LOVE LOVE LOVE the Michael Kors perfume so I'm super excited. Plus, I've been eyeing the Becca eye shadow palette for ever and finally bought that since Becca is 5x points right now. Whoo-hoo!

I think it is a 4 hour beauty break...GO GO GO!! LOL!
I am really curious about how that Becca palette will work for you. It looks really cool toned brown online, but I've not seen any blog posts about it.

 
I was just looking at details for the 2015 "love your skin" event, starting January 4. Is it just me, or does Ulta seem to have reeled in the GWPs and perks for this event this year? I remember last year there were GWPs for SO MANY brands, and there was a pretty nice non-brand specific store-wide and online GWP -23 skincare samples came in a blue Bliss tote. And I think it was 2x or 3x points on all skincare. This year, it looks like there's only one non-brand specific GWP, and only available in store.

I mean, certainly in the grand picture of things, it's not that big a deal, and there's really nothing I NEED at this point. But both this, the downgraded bday gift, and fewer "beauty breaks" in recent months suggest that Ulta perhaps is going to be a bit skimpier on the bonuses and GWPs this year.

 
I had an email offer for 400 extra points on an 80 purchase.
That is an awesome perk! I have never been offered a perk like that...but so happy to hear that I have offers to dream about!!

I do have a bonus offer of 200 points for an order of $45, and the offer came out on the 28th.  I ordered that day and it has shipped already, and I received the 200 bonus points too, just today.  So I placed an order today, and the offer is still active on my 'rewards/my offers' page so I think I get another 200 bonus points.  When I calculated what I should have earned with the bonus 5x on becca, and plus 200, it is very close (but still less than!!) what was on the screen at order completion when they tell you how many points you earned.

Have you (or anyone else here on MUT) ever been able to get the bonus points multiple times on this type of offer?

 
I am really curious about how that Becca palette will work for you. It looks really cool toned brown online, but I've not seen any blog posts about it.
I think the reason I held off so long on getting that eye shadow palette was due to not really having any other reference, (well, and my only other Becca reference was their horrible primer.  Ick)  but I like that is is darker in general from one end to the other than, say, the UD Naked Basics ones.  I have too many too light shadows that I don't use, so am excited about getting a darker palette.  I will try to get pics up of swatches or actually wearing it once I get it.  I got my shipping notice already so that's exciting!

I think Ulta spent more money to improve shipping turn around time than they did for perks apparently (read in another thread where this years deals so far are lackluster compared to prior years, but I wouldn't know that...just making an observation based on that feedback and the fact that I already have shipping notices! YEAH!) 

ETA:  Do not have my rewards page updated with my points yet, though, and those orders are not listed there yet.

ETA:  In store they have 25% off holiday Philosophy...the ornament goodies, snow angel stuff etc.

Meh, birthday gift sucks, but it's basically 'something I'll never use' versus 'something I'll never use' for last year's, so. *shrug*

Forgot to mention to @ that I emailed customer service regarding missing samples, and they are sending me a separate package with just samples.  I thought that was very nice.  I had several missing and even more with just two samples inside the baggie (as opposed to the 3 they say you get) and I just said I wasn't going to say anything at all, but it has happened multiple times - didn't give a number of occurrences or number of missing samples total etc. and neither did they tell me how many they are sending, but I'm curious to see what they send me. Of course I'll post when it arrives!  I hope they don't send me a huge box with like one sample in it!  I have read they are kind of known for doing that.  Maybe in the future I could just say...do you mind setting them aside and letting @ pick them up for me?  She's right down the street...LOL!!

I rec'd an email this morning that they're sending mine out again.  I wonder how many I'll get since I had 4 shipments w/o them.  I referenced the old 'ticket incident' number so they could look it up, but who knows.  I'll just be happy with ANY skin care.

I did ask if they had any record of sending the last shipment of replacements, but that part of the issue wasn't addressed -- just that they're sending me more.  I'll take 'em!

Can you imagine if they'd offer same day order pick up?  THAT would be AWESOME!  I love how Amazon offers it -- I've never had to use it, but I've been tempted!

@ ummm...do you live in distribution warehouse central or what??  Amazon?  Ulta?  All you need is a Bath & Body Works distribution center and you will have a new neighbor! LOL!!

Crossroads of America - Ruler of the Flyover States -- Flat Land and Meth Labs.  Go Indy!  We have a FedEx hub here and I think that makes a difference.  (And yes, there's an Amazon dist ctr near it.)

Since I can't tell if my other samples were sent I have no idea.  If the samples ship from IL, I should get them pretty quickly.  (OH wait, this is Ulta we're talking about.)  I'll keep you posted.

probably not. I had an offer for 4 X points with an order over 90 but that expired yesterday January 3rd and I'm thinking those were the same timeframe for the promo. it usually says the full set amount of points when you check out.

on that note does anybody know if the philosophy 5X Offer is available in store or just online? Because I'm getting the dreaded payment error and I'm afraid I won't be able to utilize it. Since they didn't let me utilize the 4x points for $90 or over last week. I hate that also ordering is such a crap shoot. I finally got it to work and then it stopped working again I might have to switch accounts again. You think they would reward people that spend the most money. But I spent over $1000 and the next week they would not take my order for another 400. Go figure? I was once told by an ulta rep that if you spend too much they somehow freak out and won't let you buy anymore for a while. Which is kind of crazy in my opinion. I can't imagine Nordstrom ever ever ever doing this.

 
So...today is the day they have the goodie bag of skin care available, they have a GWP on Algenist, AND...drum roll...I just checked my account and all 4 purchases I made during my bonus 200 points on orders of $45 or more, had the bonus 200 points added!  I have over 3500 points!  I have NEVER had that many before.  This means I can walk across the street, take my $50 gift card I rec'd as a gift from my nieces (aren't they the best!?!?!) and spend NO MONEY and get an arm load of yummy skin care and algenist and...and...and YIPPEE!!

I can't buy anything from Philosophy (for those keeping track, I probably wouldn't anyway!) or I won't get the bonus points, but that is OK!

Free + free + free = FREE shopping trip!  I'm Free-shopping today and I couldn't be happier!

Yeah, it said 117 when I finished checking out. So it probably expired yesterday. Damn. I could've spent about $20 bucks less. (Not that I don't want the stuff I bought, but I didn't need to buy it today - I just did it to get over $80.)

 
Oh. My. WORD! I'm still in the parking lot hahaha but can I just say when the customer has to lead the check out girl to all of the extras...(GWP, skin care sample Baggie...), then twice remind to scan the coupon, and four times go over how 3500 minus 1500 equals 2000...kinda takes the fun out of the whole thing. Hmpff.

Also, my gift card is for online only I guess, since it was an egift card, so I did have a balance due of $17 and change. But!! I had forgotten about my $200 gift card I finally got from signing up with comcast when I moved (January Of 2013...yeah...that's a peach of a company that comcast...double hmpff!!!) so I still didn't pay anything out of pocket! Worth the trouble, I'd say!

 
@ -- I've used both of my egift cards from customer service in the store.  (Not sure where yours came from.)  I just pulled them up on my phone and they either scanned or entered a code.

I'm more than half way to 2000 points again (the only way I'll redeem) and hope that after my next hair appt I'll hit it.  Sadly I don't think this will happen during the skin care event.   :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I'm going to take back what I bought and get my moisturizer at Sephora and get the Algenist promo.  Here's a pick of the sample bag.  I feel lied to.  No other way to put it if you look at the bag vs the picture and I know 'samples vary' however, samples are also supposed to be a $33.50 value and there is NO WAY this is worth $33.50 IMHO.

Your thoughts??

Are they kidding?  There is no way those foil samples and cheapo wipes are worth 33$.  I'd return my stuff too if they didn't throw in more, nicer, samples to make good.  I hate bate and switch promos.  Ulta is SO terrible about this stuff, and having promos available, and making sure all the promo items are in the stupid sets.  They make batty.  Their point reward system is so much better than Sephora's, but I have hassles and wrong/missing stuff with almost every order, it makes it sour for me to shop with them.
