Here there ladies, can any of you tell me how often/when they have the 20% off deals? I think earlier this spring they had 20% off of your entire order. Do they also run that in the fall/around holidays?

I want to order the Tarte Exposed kit ($34 for deluxe blush, full size cheek stain, and 2 lip products in shade Exposed) but I'd rather get a good deal than shell out full price....

I am EXTREMELY wary of Ulta's shipping practices and would definitely recommend not shopping with them online, if possible.
The only reason I ever make an online order at Ulta is if I find out from someone that their 20% off code works for prestige brands online, but not in store. Hahaha, twekabell let me know about that last time they had a 20% off dealio. It was awesome!!!

It seemed like the 20% off in the spring was random, not everyone got it and it wasn't restricted to Platinum or anything.  It was more or less a crapshoot.

I do think they will try to run one around the time of Sephora's though.

So I'm going a little crazy with this flushing from my cortizone shot and I headed out to buy copious amounts of thermal mists. While in Ulta I knew I also had to check out Laura Geller (5x points)!!!

I forgot to take a pic of the 5 pack of waterproof eyeliners for $25. Bye how awesome are the kits in this pic? I was ready to pay $27.50 for just the Roseberry blush by itself.

I also picked up a Love Me Dew in Purple and a few other things. I'll edit this post when I'm off of my phone to include everything! image.jpg

  • LaRoche-Posay Thermal Spring Water 12.99 + GWP 5ml Redermic for eyes
  • Benefit Pretty Parfait kit 39 -contains full sizes of Stay Don't Stray, They're Real, Gimme Brow (which is what I REALLY wanted but needed to spend 35 so I didn't have to return my last GWP that came with the blushes I purchased and returned), and a deluxe sample of Pore-fessional
Yes, I spent a ridiculous amount of money (okay something around 180?), but I am spraying thermal water about every 30 minutes to try and get rid of this flush.  I had $56 in credit for the blushes.  When I purchased the blushes I wiped out my 2000 points (less than 30 days ago) and am ALMOST back up to 2000 (at 1973).  There were two tiny purchases and a hair appt before today.  LOVE triple points for platinum and 5x on LG.  WHEW!

ETA prices on a few things I skipped and the eyeliner kit

Is the 5x points on Laura Gellar for everyone?

So weird...  I got an offer email today for 5x points on Philosophy, Vichy, Clarisonic, and Dermadoctor skincare purchases.  No offers for LG products though.  I'm sure it makes sense to them, but I think it is so bizarre how they make different offers to different people.

So interesting!  I never even thought that the 5x points might not be the same for everyone.  I needed that Vichy offer today!!

I made a quick little Ulta order last night.  For some reason the Butter London polishes are buy 2, get one free, but it is ONLINE ONLY, plus a Butter London makeup bag (who cares???).  SO yes, I have to deal with Ulta's inconsistent shipping, but I'm excited to get my polishes soon.  I also ordered one of the new velvet brushes from It Brushes for Ulta.  I only got one because I'm just curious to see what the quality of the higher end brushes is and how it will hold compare to some of my other brushes.

I didn't spend more because I am expecting to get a 20% off email or mailer soon, because they ALWAYS do it around the same time as the Sephora sale, which is usually the first 2 weeks of November.  I think they are much more consistent with sending the sales coupons around the holidays to everyone, and I've never been skipped before for a promotion, so we will see!

I'm not sure about online- but they still had some in the back at my store. I had to ask and she brought one up. I didn't buy it because I wanted to wait for the 20% off.... but maybe I should have snapped it up.

Thanks for the tip- that makes sense, they have to be competitive with Sephora. Awesome!

The IT Cosmetics brushes are awesome. I really want to get one of their blush brushes.

I'm glad you have an idea of when that 20% off deal is. I am waiting until that starts to make any Ulta purchases!

I just need to vent about the terrible customer service email I received from Ulta. Can I just say they suck! The issue isn't truly a big deal but the response I received was the worst in customer focus.

Them:

Unfortunately we are unable to remove transactions , if you have the receipt from the original purchase of those items that will be the only way to remove the negative dollar amount.

Me:

So your store associate did my return transaction wrong and later provided bad information to contact customer service to have the transaction  deleted from my account. You have responded in the most vague 1 sentence response that it could not be removed in the first half and contradict it with if I had a receipt it could. I think your story isn't tracking and for $38 it's the worst customer service support to help a customer in the history of me dealing with a usually much more team especially since your service associate made an error.

Just for comparison sake here is a Kohls response I received on a different issue the same day. This clearly demonstrate Think Customer and why I give them most of my paycheck (lol)!!!

I hear you on this.  I'm not a return-a-holic, but there are times when I DO need to return something and 99% of the time my overall purchase is way bigger than whatever amount I had in returns.  I love the girls on the floor and my colorist at the salon is crazy good.

My BIGGEST gripe is their bathroom situation (I know, whatever).  I'm a germaphobe who often has to 'tinkle' out in public.  Cosmetic excitement induced tinkling?  Maybe.   ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />  Anyway, they have blow hand dryers.  Great, I love the planet, sounds good.  BUT -- on more than one occasion I've witnessed employees not washing their hands when they leave the restroom.  Yeah, no towels for me to hold the nasty door open (it's a pull, not a push).  Hooking a finger it still nasty to me, so I grab TP and make it happen.  When I asked the store manager about it, she said, "Oh yeah, we all do that because we go over and wash our hands in the salon where there are paper towels."  My response was, "What about the customers who MUST touch the door after your employee's nasty hands have touched it??"  <Insert store manager blank stare.>

Thank goodness they have hand sanitizer on their little makeup stations.

Ulta Kiana B:

Well the way our system is set up , I cant remove transactions. If you had the receipt from the original transaction , I could add it to your account. If you don't then there is no way to remove the negative balance. Sorry

Me:

They seriously must only have a requirement to breath for a job in their customer service department. Because if my employee handled customer service like that I would fire their stupid ass!

So, this is new.  Ulta just sent me a $15 gift card via email.  Any one else?  Its my birthday month, so I've already had my free mascara code (that I didn't use) and $10 off code (which I did use) and 2x points for the month, and I made a small purchase with just points for my birthday the other day.

The gift card page says they are sorry that a gift was omitted from my recent purchase, which must be the package coming tomorrow.  I'd much rather have $15 than a free butter london makeup bag gift with purchase!! Yay, I'm excited.  I'm also glad that Ulta noticed their error before I even got the package, $15 giftcard more than makes up for it!! Hopefully Ulta is getting their customer service into good shape for online purchases!
